Young enough to represent a fresh start in American public life without being a total greenhorn. Fifty-two seems the right age.  What else? Someone who has run a state instead of prattling in Washington. Someone from the fast-growing sunbelt. (Four of the last eight presidents have been governors in the southern half of the contiguous US.) Throw in some foreign affairs credentials and a personal background that chimes with an immigrant nation

In a statement  today, the Humanitarian Country Team cited an incident in which humanitarian workers were targeted during a medical evacuation at Al Amal hospital in Khan Younis. The team referred to this as unacceptable.

On 25 February, the Palestine Red Crescent Society, the World Health Organization, and OCHA evacuated 24 patients from Al Amal hospital. Despite prior coordination for all staff members and vehicles with the Israeli side, Israeli forces blocked the WHO-led convoy for many hours the moment it left the hospital. The Israeli military forced patients and staff out of ambulances and stripped all paramedics of their clothes.

Nothing is more devastating than this. The UN World Food Program has officially suspended aid delivery to northern Gaza, citing violence and lack of safety as major reasons the aid trucks aren’t getting through. Israeli officers are liberally shooting at Palestinians who try to approach the trucks in hopes of getting even the smallest morsels of food, despite the fact that Israel has allowed only one crossing for the already woefully low numbers of aid they’re permitting entry. Reportedly this number has fallen from 140 a day in January to just 60 a day this month, and now 16% of all Gazan children under 2 are “acutely malnourished.” Meanwhile, the US vetoes a call for a ceasefire for the third fucking time. It’s so inhumane in its cruelty it’s actually shocking to see it being allowed to go on and on, and on an international level no less.

One of the things that pisses me off most about this genocide and overall occupation is how many people say it's so complicated and there's so much nuance and there isn't one easy solution. This is one of the simplest things I have ever seen. Zionists invaded palestine in 1947-48. They have occupied it for 76 years while taking more and more land. They kidnap and torture and massacre Palestinians day in day out for those 76 years. They control every aspect of Palestinian life, including their water and medical care. And now they are committing another genocide against them. Where is the complication? What is hard to understand? "Well, Jewish people need a place where they won't be discriminated against" I absolutely agree. So make every country in the world safe for Jewish people. Fight against anti Semitism across the world. Don't commit a genocide and set up an ethnostate.
