Maybe I'm starting shit with this post. But if I'm being honest, the School Spirits fandom has a problem accepting that Simon is one of the leads of the show. And that his role is more important than Wally's.

The heart of this show is Maddie and Simon's friendship. That became more evident with season 3 when they basically switch roles. And I feel like part of the reason why some people don't agree with that is because Simon isn't white or “conventionally attractive”. Also because Simon and Maddie's relationship isn't romantic.

Yes, this stems from the Emmy Nominations. Which, all in all, is amazing for School Spirits as a whole. But Kristian should have been nominated for Lead Actor. And he was valid for expressing his thoughts about it.

(Can be) controversial headcanon, but i think Wally had a crush on Janet for years.

He's quite a sucker for confident, intelligent girls who are not easy going - love a challenge

I'm sure there had to be a reason why he thought Janet wants to kiss him (of course)

And idk i feel like i can picture them too easily as the boy who's flirting constantly and wants to be emotional and then there's Janet completely ignoring this and just feels awkward by the attention

school spirits to me is the epitome of a show that would've been better suited to the old industry standard of 22 episode seasons like. if it had been made half a decade earlier it could have been on the CW (affectionate). however if i was in charge of making school spirits into a show with 22 episode seasons i think i would make the controversial choice to make s1 and s2 into one big season...

churi "concert"

okay so i just had a churi headcanon and i HAVE to tell everybody before i forget - especially @after-nine-at-the-oasis, the true inspiration for it.

After another mild fight about insecurities and mostly Charley's emotional anxiety, he decides to prepare for a suprise date, in order to apologize to his sweet love.

To make sure Yuri feels comfortable he does everything in the green house - putting up a projector screen, gathering tons of blankets and pillows, hanging up string lights, lighting some scented candles.

He invites Yuri with a shy, apologetic smile and gently takes him by the hand and leads him to their makeshift "concert".

Earlier, Charley had spent the afternoon sorting through old concert recordings with Wally's help, knowing how much Yuri wanted to relive the music of those bands.

Yuri feels touched and impressed by how much Charley has prepared for this. At first, Yuri looks at the screen with increased attention, listing memories to Charley. Then slowly as his tention eases, they get closer and closer to eachother. After about an hour Yuri practically rests on Charley, leaning his back to his chest, as Charley plays with his blonde hair.

To Charley's suprise, Yuri asks him to show something that he likes. He wants to know just as much from his music taste, as him.

Charley feels embarassed at first, but puts in a record he listened a lot during his first year of highschool.

Yuri slowly takes his hand, asking him for a dance. Charley laughs as he stands up with Yuri. They move slowly, hugging eachother closely.

I kinda wonder how did Mr. Martin caught up with the fashion trends over the decades.

Because I can totally see him walking in the hallway somewhere around the 90' (when grunge was really on top) and after seeing a girl in jeans that are torn at the knee he goes:

"Oh, poor thing! That must'be been a painful fall!"

Bonus point if Charley stands next to him, not having the heart to tell it's just fashion lol

I have a feeling that Charley was the one helping him catching up on trends

Imagine they're sitting in the library by a computer and Charley is just:

"so this is the backstreet boys - you have to have a favourite member okay?"

"she's Britney Spears, the true pop princess - yeah this is like a royal family thing"

"Ricky Martin when he won in the vma's, that's another cultural thing"

And Mr. Martin is just nodding, writing down everything in his notebook just to learn it for Charley

hi guys! I'm bored and I should study, so let me just do something else and give some headcanons abour our favourite ghosts!

(what were they possibly doing in a sleepless night, while they were alive)

Rhonda

Smoking cigarettes on her balcony, thinking about her future in Berkeley. She would listen some music on her record player, unbothered by the noise since her parents are never scolding her for anything. She writes lyrics absentmindedly on a piece of paper, humming to herself.

Janet

Reading science magazines under her sheet, keeping a flashlight between her knees. She smiles to herself, feeling exited that she does something that she shouldn't. She gently underlines words she doesn't understands well, believing next day she can ask Mr. Martin about it.

Wally

probably someone LOL

Besides joking, he looks like the type who sits in his car in an empty parking space. He's listening quietly his radio while talking with one of his friend or his girlfriend next to him. A late night deep talk type, maybe going into an arcade and staying until it closes.

Quinn

They try on clothes in front of their mirror, the ones they found in their father's closet. They listening for every small noise, fearing that somebody might wake up. When they got bored of it, they lay down on the floor, putting up a headphone and listening some music, closing their eyes, just wandering places in their mind.

Mr. Martin

(assuming after the firing)

Knowing that he only has a little over a week left, he throws himself completely into work. He wants to make sure that after he leaves the students will be safe until the end of term, that they will not suffer any harm or loss because of this decision. He works all night by his kitchen table, until sheer collapse.

Charley

Laying in his bed, listening the cd that Emilio gave him, filled with the songs they listened together. He imagines romantic scenarios between them, until he catches himself and pulls the earphone out with an embarassed smile. He reads an old romance book, and he likes to imagine that the love interest and the main character are both boys.

Dawn

After going for snack hunting in the middle of the night, she goes back to her room with her favourite salty crackers. Her floor is a mess, the remaining of her concentrated jewelry making is still there. She makes bracelets for her new friends, tired but exited what they will say about it tomorrow.

Yuri

He only dares to go outside after his parents are sleeping. The moment the house is silent, he gathers his jacket and a few things into his pockets - wallet, lighter with a box of cigarette, his inhaler just in case - and escapes into the night to meet his lover by her house, climbing into her room and spending their time together.

school spirits chocolate headcanons <3

charley LOVES milk chocolate and won’t eat any other kind—even semi-sweet chocolate chips make him gag a little

yuri LOVES dark chocolate but will eat other types of chocolate. when charley nabs a variety pack of hershey’s kisses from the teacher’s lounge, yuri REFUSES to eat anything but the hugs so he doesn’t steal any of charley’s kisses, especially when charley offers.

rhonda secretly loves how sickly sweet her lollipops taste—so she’s a real sucker for chocolate too, but she doesn’t let herself indulge much. those ghirardelli squares with the raspberry filling are her FAVORITE though.

quinn hasn’t felt anything in the last twenty years, so a chocolate-induced sugar rush is heaven. when they find mr. figueroa’s secret chocolate stash, they stuff a bunch of chocolate bars up their jacket sleeves and make a break for the band room. rhonda almost cries when she watches the raspberry ghirardelli squares fall out of their sleeves.

wally loves milk chocolate, ESPECIALLY the mini m&m’s (which haven’t blessed school grounds since they stopped offering home ec). the guidance counselor keeps a bowl of regular m&m’s on her desk, but wally says it’s just not the same. maddie sneaks three bags of mini m&m’s into her locker on her first day back, and wally actually cries (he loves her so much he nearly feels the magnitude of living pain).

maddie used to love all kinds of chocolate candy—kit-kats, twix, reese’s, milky ways—but now they just remind her of trick-or-treating with her dad, so there’s always a bittersweet aftertaste. wally wins her over with the m&m’s, and she’ll never pass up a chocolate milkshake with simon.

simon is more of a dark chocolate guy, but he won’t refuse any chocolate if offered. chocolate milkshakes are his absolute favorite. they remind him of the day he was adopted, and maddie, of course (white-eyes aside, he’s surprised he could even forget the milkshake incident at her twelfth birthday party).

janet’s grandma used to bake the most delicious chocolate cake for her birthday. nothing ever tastes quite as perfect, but she won’t pass up a hershey’s chocolate bar (especially when she needs a mid-experiment dopamine spike).

dawn LOVES chocolate. all chocolate. any chocolate she finds. dawn, being dawn, knows all of the teacher’s hiding spots. chocolate bars start mysteriously appearing when the ghosts need a pick-me-up. janet gets into a little spat with mr. martin one evening and finds five chocolate bars on top of her notebook.

a lie mr. martin tells the kids: chocolate is too sweet for him. the truth: ralph loved chocolate, and so did alice, and so did his mother, whose smile he can’t recall. stomaching chocolate means stomaching the guilt of their memory, and mr. martin is incapable of doing either.

season one xavier only eats 100% cocoa dark chocolate because it’s extremely bitter and he likes making himself feel miserable (to atone for his sins). after he becomes friends with simon and nicole, xavier finally admits to himself that he’s a lot more than the rebel persona he projects. so, fuck it, fine—he LOVES white chocolate. when he gets home from the hospital, his dad buys him a cookies and cream hershey’s bar for the first time in a decade (and it tastes just as sweet as it had when he was a kid).

claire eats 100% cocoa dark chocolate because she actually prefers the bitter taste (also, she heard about the health benefits on tiktok, but she’s not admitting to that any time soon)

nicole loves all types of chocolate because “all chocolate deserves love and attention” <3 claire finds this incredibly endearing and half-considers buying out all the chocolate at seven-eleven before reeling herself in. she swears the fancy heart-shaped chocolate box she gets nicole is just a thank-you gift for letting her stay over (it’s not. they both know it’s not. they’re both too scared to admit it.)

So today my immune system decided to pull a nasty cold on me before summer, and forced me to stay in bed all day. To stay productive – but atleast not die out of boredom, I decided to draw some fanarts.

One thing about me is that I really like to draw – and write I might add – I'm just really shy about it. (And it kinda sucks too)

But out of pure loyalty towards the fandom, I decided to share the sketches I did.
