Hi, I'm Ray.

This is a blog I started in... 2022, wow.

It's mostly just for me to post and reblog random things I like, whether that's anime, art, memes, life advice, things related to desi culture, dating sims, coding, webtoon, fanfiction, cartoons, novels, music, plants, feminism, whatever.

we gotta get back to torrent distribution, i just watched someone eat eight grand in bandwidth charges because they ran a direct-download piracy site with local file hosting through cloudflare. torrents were invented literally for this exact reason

torrents work like this

i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3

unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it

i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map

i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs

this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.

crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.

i watched an episode of the world's strictest parents just now, it was an episode where two new zealand kinds get sent to live with a family in bangalore india, and I just gotta say. Nalini is a great fucking parent. Other than the clothes thing which was prevalant just everywhere back then, she actively wanted to help both Arden and Jasper. She had them do bollywood dances, and the way she handled Jasper's smoking thing was really good. Way better than how other parents would have handled it. And now that I'm looking at other episodes, I just can't, none of them can live up to Nalini bruh.

Also, the episodes where the kids get sent to conservative american families just piss me tf off because those are hardly good environments either. Humiliating children on tv is NOT IT istg. Especially the forscyth family or whatever. There was definitely s abuse going on in that household

yknow ome of the most major adhd problems I used to face was my bed being an absolute MESS. Like next level MESS, and I could never find the nergy to clean it. But now I've reached the point where yeah, my bed genuinely only has bed stuff on it. It gets messy during the day but I have the energy and motivation and discipline and DOPAMINE REGULATION to clean it regularly. Ritalin W

being an everything crafter is great but also sucks. like i want to get my watercolors out but i need to put away my microcrochet first. i want to do some leatherwork but my oil paints are on the table. i want to whittle but i'm using the bucket i catch wood shavings in to hold my papermaking mush. i want to write my book but my hands are too busy knitting a sweater. i want to code another video game but i'm too busy studying nalebinding. do you see my problem. the problem is that i need more hands

Bag made from old jeans! How should I decorate it?

I've already done some embroidery and added a little heart patch, but I want more ideas!

I do plan on making a cybersigilism design on the back pockets, but nother than that I'm not really sure what else I should add

okay so the embroidery part is going great but since I'm using normal thin seeing needles it's going very slow, I'm gonna buy proper embroidery thread tomorrow

Also, I'm DEFINITELY gonna have to make an inner lining for this lmao with all the embroidery I'm doin. So I'm gonna have to speed up the process a lil 🤘🤘🤘

Also, I'm adding the a:tla element symbols, bi hearts, and a cybersigilism design which is supposed to kinda look like a lower back tattoo
