Summary: Semi’s trying to come to terms with your break-up, calling you once again as an attempt to figure himself out. Part 1 of Giveon ‘When It’s All Said and Done’ series for my grand opening event. Hope y’all enjoy (or cry, crying is good)

Hearing your phone’s ringer go off in the middle of the night is never pleasant, and the only thing that can make it even more unpleasant? Realizing it’s a call from your ex. “Semi, I thought you promised you wouldn’t be calling anymore.”
The exhaustion in your voice is evident as you cut past the greetings, but he can’t really tell if it’s from the fact he’s pulled you from your slumber or if these attempts have become futile in the months following your breakup.
Tried my hardest for this shit / But you, you don't give like me
“You haven’t responded to my texts, Y/N, so I thought this was the next best thing.” His biting tone is baffling when he was the one who woke you up, once again reminding you of why you broke up with him. The two of you were like fire and ice, and you had spent so much of yourself warming his colder spirit up that by the end, you were about to fall apart from the frostbite.
Sometimes, though, you find yourself yearning for that cold. You remember how you found the real Eita on the first day of summer. His smile seeped into your bloodstream, dampening the flames so that you could breathe in fresh air instead of the smoke you had been so accustomed too. However, those memories were shrouded by disappointment at what could’ve been as you hear him sigh. “Just... finding that I’ve been missing your smile a lot more than I thought… Do you ever think that about me?” The vulnerability in this admission causes you to cup your hand over your mouth, holding in the ‘yes’ that begs to slip out. Even with time and your phones separating you from him, he still managed to read you perfectly, but you weren’t planning on letting him in again.

“Semi, it’s late... Why did you actually call?”
Why did I call? He thinks, searching his mind for what you could say to him to make any of this better. What could comfort him about the fact that you have someone new to offer your warmth to? Lately, it seems that the drop in temperature keeps reminding him of how he found you in the winter. Your love breathed life into parts of him that he assumed to be long dead while you tried to carefully tend every piece of him. But as his frost nearly destroyed you, your heat had him drowning in all the feelings you melted down in your wake. Still, he found himself craving that experience in comparison to the once again frozen walls that surrounded him and the desolate pit in his stomach at knowing he had lost you.
What would’ve happened if he found you in your spring? When your grassy fields would have soaked in his melted snow, and his cool winds wouldn’t have left you alone and shivering.
What if you had found him in his fall? When his brittle, fallen leaves would have welcomed your flames of a new beginning, and your sunlight would haven’t have felt so harsh on his skin.
Your silence is blaring as Semi searches for words he doesn’t have on why he can’t let you go, on how he could try to finally meet you in the middle. But when it’s all said and done, your differences are far too great for the two of you to mount.
