** contains spoilers for 2.0 & Inazuma story quest **
It was getting colder.
Pink petals from a nearby sakura tree danced before your sight, drops of rain starting to dribble down from the heavens. You felt so very tired as you laid on the ground. Not even the strength to call out to someone for help. A drop landed on your cheek, coolness blossoming on your skin, you sighed. In the end, this wasn’t a bad way to go. Groaning, you touched the slash on your stomach, blood still oozing out of the wound and mixing with the dirt. Dying at the end of another blade was a great honor for a samurai wasn’t it? Shouldn’t you feel better? Shouldn’t you have a sense of accomplishment rising in your chest, shouldn’t you be proud?
domestic things the haikyuu boys do to show that they care
↳ it all seems too good to be true. that’s because they’re not real :’
━ sakusa kiyoomi
- always let you shower first so you can get all the warm water. (but don’t too long, don’t leave him without any hot water at all :’) (or i guess u guys can shower together … )
- puts your towel in the dryer before your shower. he has many, many reasons for this:
your towel will be nice and cozy when you walk out the shower 🥺
he’ll have to hand the towel to you, meaning he’ll have a reason to go inside the warm, steamy bathroom
he’ll be able to wrap you tightly with the towel the moment you step out. sakusa can’t leave you abandoned with just a towel, so naturally, he’ll sit you on the bathroom counter (even with you sitting on the counter, he’s still taller <3) and dry your hair, comb your hair, pat your body dry, lotion your body, blow-dry your hair, and all the other steps of your skin-care routine
imagine standing next to each other, staring into the mirror as you both brush your teeth, him softly side-butting you, you side-butting him back (except he moved to the side and now you just awkwardly side-butted the air … there goes his satisfactory smirk 🙄<3)
(just before drying your hair, he’ll rub strands of your hair between his palms to make it stick up, and stand back to admire the view. you’re adorable)
(oh to be pampered by sakusa :’)) how does it feel to have won life?)
(it hurts knowing we’ve never seen animated sakusa smile)
━ kita shinsuke
- he always walks on the outer side of the sidewalk when the two of you are walking side by side to keep you safe from the road. it’s a small, subtle gesture, but a gesture that doesn’t go overseen. this also means his left hand will always be holding your right hand
- picks things up for you. on his way home, he’ll always call and ask if you want anything. if you have a delivery package you need to pick up, he’ll do it for you. if you want a cup of coffee from your favorite cafe, he’ll buy one for you :)
- he loves and cares for your family like his own. this goes a long way. it truly shows how important you are to him
(to those who doesn’t have a very … good family or a family that wouldn’t be interested in caring for your partner, i’m sorry to hear about that babes :’( i can relate, we’re in this together!)
━ oikawa tōru
- always talks in terms of “we” instead of “i”, “me”, and “you”. he always includes you in conversations so you never feel left out! whenever you are, he wants you to feel acknowledged and included.
- defends you in every conversation. if someone were to talk badly or make unwanted remarks about you, oikawa will be right there to drag them down. oikawa may talk a lot but it’s gotten him the advantage to be really good with his words. try winning an argument with him, you can’t (unless ur iwaizumi lol)
- anyone that stares at you for too long, he’ll give his harshest glare. oikawa’s one of those people who can just sense bad vibes from people. he tells you all about his instincts so no “bad guys” can get to you
- relationship with oikawa = lots of pillowtalk
━ miya atsumu
- if you carry purses/bags around, he always offers to hold onto your purse/bag when you go to the bathroom. he’ll casually sling it over his shoulder like it’s his own, no awkwardness here! he’s proud to be your boyfriend and it shows.
(guys who carries purses for their partners with confidence > other guys)
- if the two of you walk out of a store into pouring rain without an umbrella, atsumu will tell you to wait inside the store while he goes to start the car. he’ll drive to the front of the store so you won’t have to get wet from the rain
(i just know atsumu’s one of those guys who looks so hot while driving without even trying- darn him <3)
━ akaashi keiji
- beings extra everything around for you. band-aids, hair-ties, gum, cash, an extra jacket in his trunk, a cup in case of stomach-emergencies, and even a pair of socks in case the rain seeps through your shoes. he has it all. feeling safe is one of the many good feelings you feel around akaashi
- when you share a small umbrella, akaashi always makes sure it completely covers you, even if it means water is dripping down his shoulder.
- when he comes across a good book, a good movie, good song, he’ll have that spark in his beautiful eyes when he tells you all about them. he wants you to also enjoy the good in his life :) (he also tells you about his past mistakes/incidents to warn you about the bad)
━ bokuto kōtarō
- goes to bed before you, lying on your spot of the bed to warm it up. when you walk into the bedroom, you’ll see bo’s head sticking out of the covers with a huge grin. he’s so cute without even trying djkfldj
- adores massaging you. he’ll regularly massage you, run his hand across your tummy, sit you in his lap, squeeze you with his biceps, play with your thighs, yeah it’s quite obvious how much he loves you.
rough day? regular day? be prepared to lay on your tummy so bokuto can give you a massage :) don’t be too surprised when he attempts new massage moves that “our professional massager did on us! (msby)”
you know what else he loves? when you massage him! he loves coming home with sore muscles to a home-made massage by the person who never fails to make him smile. not the best massage in the world, but you’re trying and he loves it more than explainable.
- brings you the remote without complaint. puts your plate back to the kitchen without complaint. puts your clothes in the laundry basket without complaint.
━ miya osamu
- always offers to carry the grocery bags. even if he can barely see past the pile of bags in his arms, he’ll insist on carrying them. his competitive side comes out during times like these; he’ll try to impress you by carrying more and more each time. even with how heavy the groceries may be, he hasn’t dropped/broken anything …yet!
- leaves the last bit of food for you. last slice of pizza? yours. last bit of milk left? for your cereal. last piece of cake? yours. he never eats the last piece without checking with you first, no matter how hungry he is. eating food without leaving you any is like betrayal.
- blocks the sunlight out of your eyes with his arm/hand. especially in the morning when the sunlight glares through the window.
━ suna rintarō
- charges your phone for you. sometimes, he’ll tap on your lockscreen to check your battery percentage when you go to sleep and charge it when the battery bar is low. you don’t have to worry about forgetting to charge your phone with suna around.
- turns off his phone when you talk to him so you can have his full attention
- untangles your mess of cords. he always glares and heavily sighs whenever he sees tangled cords. no one knows how, but suna’s exceptionally good with untangling stuff
━ kuroo tetsurō
- cleans the hair from your shower for you. he really doesn’t like it, but he knows you hate it more, which is why he does it for you. even though it’s not a favorite activity of his, he doesn’t really mind, it’s natural.
- he’ll talk to the people/call the people you don’t want to. if you don’t want to say your drive-thru order, he’ll do it for you. if you want to know the price of a shirt but there isn’t a tag, he’ll talk to a store-worker for you. instead of being annoyed at you for “not being to do simple things”, he’ll help you out without a single word of complaint. there’ll be some teasing, but no harm done. he’s very understanding and patient
(my bias is showing. he’s my comfort person, what can i do :’)
- he made up a code with you. four tugs on the hem of his shirt means you’re not feeling well/uncomfortable. (there are also many other signals and code words)
this is especially helpful when you’re out at parties, big events, malls, etc etc. as soon as he feels your tugs, he’ll whip around and study your face, leading you to a quieter place to ask how you’re feeling. if you want to go home, then home it is.

tw: manipulation, cheating, reddit incels, coercion in Terushima’s, all round toxicity
Ushijima → you don’t even know that you’re dating. He came up to you and said “you’re not as annoying as the rest, I’m glad you came to Shiratorizawa” and then walked off. To him that was a confession of love and meant that the two of you were dating. It wasn’t until he became really possessive over you when you spoke to other guys did you finally figure out why. When you guys actually date he still remains possessive and talks down to you if you speak to any other guy.
Tendou → jealous, like really jealous. It stems from insecurity because he’s so scared that you’ll leave him. So to prevent that he hovers over you all the time and refuses to let you have male/guy friends cause he perceives them as a threat :/
Semi → purposefully causes arguments so he can feel emotional and write a song about it. You’re his dirty little secret, the world doesn’t know about you and he wants to keep it that way. After his concerts he always has a one night stand but his reasoning is that you shouldn’t care cause you’re the only one he’ll fuck more than once.
Shirabu → he’s a bitch. He gets insecure a lot and takes it out on you, making snide comments about your appearance. He’s also jealous of you, not other guys, that’s partly where his insecurities stem from.
Kawanishi → dates you so you can do his homework/uni projects for him. Also for your money, he likes free food and coffee.
Goshiki → impulsive and gets easily heated. He also can’t take any form of criticism. He once bought you a $600 volleyball - made of like gold or something, and was upset when you didn’t immediately fall in love with it.
Bokuto → man baby. Can’t do anything. Needs you to do it for him. Also can’t take criticism. Make one offhand comment and he’s wallowing in the pits of despair, curled up in a ball on the couch and pitying himself. Seriously, you could say something like “Kou why can’t you clean up your own dishes?” and boom, he’s sulking on the couch.
Akaashi → treats you like a child, kind of like how he treats bokuto. You feel more like a daughter or something with how he always seems to step on eggshells around you to make sure you don’t act in a way that could be bothersome for him. He probably insults your intelligence as well.
Konoha → doesn’t know what a period is. He’s one of those reddit boys who bitches about their s/o and how they act on their period. Even if you don’t get a period he’s still a bitch, he acts like every minor inconvenience is caused by you and he rants about it on reddit.
Atsumu → he’s like Oikawa. An absolute fuckboy. Flirts with everyone and a chronic cheater. He doesn’t even pretend to be sad when he’s caught, he just asks if you want to join.
Osamu → he has trust issues. At first he thinks you’re using him to get to his brother. He’s also lazy and can’t clean up after himself.
Kita → he has traditional views. Definitely believes in gender roles and wants you to be his subservient s/o. It doesn’t matter if you’re cis/girl/guy/nb (gender is a social construct) he is the man of the house and he will be the breadwinner while you tend to the house. Expects you to take care of his needs.
Aran → he talks down to you. If you try to crack a joke he pulls it apart. Seriously, you’ve got to have no humour with him because for some reason he really likes to tear it to shreds.
Suna → lazy. One worded replies, never texts first, ‘bros over hoes’ attitude. He treats you as a second class citizen for him to step all over.
Terushima → coerced you into dating him. Not joking. He’s a pushy fucker. Has probably tried to force you to do things, luckily you have been able to set boundaries - whether or not you need help from friends depends on you.
Kiyoko → ignores you. She loves to give you the silent treatment because she likes the power of it. She uses it after arguments to ‘put you in your place’ and get you to come to her first.
Yachi → she’s not emotionally ready for a relationship. She’s a nervous wreck and is constantly jumping to conclusions that can be harmful for the both of you.
Daishou → he’s canonically a cheater - well, in volleyball, so he definitely lies to you and manipulates you to get what he wants.
Futakuchi → reddit incel. Is there anything more to say? He’s one of those ‘pick me’ guys who complain about being so nice only to have no dates. Average looking, below-average personality. He’s posted something like this before.
Aone → like Kiyoko, he plays the silent game, not because he wants to get on your nerves, he just expects you to know what he wants/is thinking with a simple look/without saying something.
Sakusa → he’s disgusted by your germs. Don’t touch him. It takes a long time for him to get used to your germs and accept them. He refuses to look after you on your period, too afraid that he’ll get covered in blood. Don’t even think he’d look after you if you were sick.
Komori → he bitches about you to others, and he over exaggerates everything.
Warnings: w e l l, the guys getting hit in the balls, guys grabbing their crotch because pain, emotional distress due to being deeply wounded and betrayed by their own spawn, laughing children, children laughing at pain, children, idk what people think about parenting these days so in Sukuna’s you guys are dealing with a 2 year old, Naoya + Sukuna (I change them for my own convenience), idk man, I just get a kick outta writing these ones
**The boys are (aged up if not already) married with kids, if you don't like the number of kids I gave them, this is just my opinion😌**
Fushiguro Megumi:
You were going out with some friends tonight, so naturally your husband was left to babysit your children.
Which wouldn’t have been a problem, he’s a good dad and more than capable of caring for his kids.
...Except for the fact that Gojo had decided to spend the day with them, and in doing so made sure to fill them up with sugar and excitement before dropping them off and going home with a ‘Have fun with that Megumi~’ because he’s awful.
So now, here Megumi is, his middle son hanging off his back, his youngest daughter in one arm while he wrangled with his oldest son to put his pajama pants on.
“No! I’m not sleepy yet!” His 5 year old son loudly said, along with the oncoming headache Megumi could swear a tick mark had just appeared.
“Too bad, it’s already an hour past your bedtime, you’ll be tired once you put these pants on and get in bed!” He almost had your son, but alas, he slipped out of his grasp at the last second, the sudden movement causing your 1 ½ year old daughter to start crying.
Megumi took a deep breath, shifted so that his daughter rested more on his hip so that he could just barely use his hands and “Demon dog!”
Before his son could react, demon dog had already picked him up by the collar of his shirt, bring him right to Megumi who was able to get one of his sons legs in the pants.
But when he did, his son squirmed, and his little foot came straight up in between Megumi’s legs.
“uGH-” Fighting a cry of pain, megumi finished getting his son dressed, kneeled so his son could slip off of his back and set his little girl down on the couch, before hunching over and just...sitting there for a bit..
Itadori Yuji:
You and Itadori had 2 rambunctious twin boys.
2 rambunctious twin boys who took a lot after their father, and not just in their looks.
They were sweet, fun, lovable kids. But they also had endless amounts of energy and didn’t always look before they leapt. So keeping an extra eye out on them in public was necessary.
Itadori was in the backyard, playing football (The throw kind, not kick kind) with the twins. You had specifically told him to be careful, and he said he would be so you weren’t too worried.
But you sat on the porch while they played, just in case.
Your 2 boys, Junto and Kentaro (😥), were natural athletes, and even if they were only 7, they were no doubt a force to be reckoned with.
They were a good match for Itadori, but I wouldn’t call the game even. Even with the twins vs Itadori, you could tell the twins were going to be tired tonight (not like you’re complaining, at least they’ll actually go to bed on time tonight).
Junto had the ball, he sprinted across the yard, doing his best at ducking and dodging Itadori’s attempts at grabbing him.
The 7 year old was so close to freedom, so close to him and his brother winning the game.
When seemingly out of nowhere his dad came sprinting up behind him, grabbing him from behind and lifting him into the air, your child’s squeals and laughter ringing through the air as your other son came to ‘help him’.
So now, they were where they usually ended up when they played games like this, Itadori with both of his children hanging off of him as they laughed and rough housed.
Itadori is strong, strong willed, strong in character, high levels of endurance. But all it took was one wayward heel to his crotch to bring him to the ground, on his knees as he just sat there, whimpers of pain escaping him.
Your sons scampered off, still laughing while you came to rub a hand up and down your husband’s back while he went on about the pain of their betrayal.
Okkotsu Yuta:
You, Yuta and your 2 kids were sat on the couch, watching a movie together on a Friday night.
It was raining outside with a 65% chance of a thunderstorm, which wasn’t too bad since you guys were inside.
But it wasn’t great since your oldest, your 4 year old daughter Emiko was terrified of storms.
She was sitting in between you two, sitting tucked snugly into Yuta’s side while his arm rested on the back of the couch, you sitting on her other side with your 2 year old son Yuki.
You were about ⅔ of the way through Princess and The Frog, when all of a sudden the lights cut out.
Your little girl screamed and ducked into your husband's side, Yuta in turn held his arms around her and kissed the top of her head, gently shushing her and telling her everything would be okay.
“Yuta?” You could see the shadow of your husband as he stood up, “I’ll be right back, gonna go check the breaker.”
He turned to go check the electrical box when he felt a tug on his sleeve, squinting as he looked down to see the silhouette of his little girl in the dark, quivering from fear.
“Hey, it’s okay Emi, I’ll be right back, but daddy has to go see if he can turn the lights back on.” He watched as she shook her head, grip on his sleeve tightening as she shifted closer to him.
“P-please don’t go...daddy I'm scared.” Yuta sighed, he could feel her shaking.
He knelt down to where she was standing on the floor, about to try and convince her to let him fix the lights, when the living room lit up from lightning, and a boom of thunder sounded throughout the house.
Screaming again, your daughter launched herself at Yuta, throwing her arms around his neck, that he was ready for he knew how much she hated thunderstorms.
What he wasn’t ready for was the swing of her legs bringing her left foot directly to his crotch.
You, who was still cradling your son in your lap (your son took much more after you, so the dark and storms never really bothered him all that much), watched as your husband was now knelt on the ground, shaking as he held your crying daughter.
“I-it’s okay Emi...d-daddy’s *gulp* daddy’s not going anywhere.” As your husband painfully got through that sentence, you could hear the octaves of his voice getting higher and higher with each word.
“...Yuta...are you okay?” You asked, confused as to why your husband sounded like he was in an incredible amount of pain.
All you heard was a weak ‘Mhm’ as he continued to hug his daughter, who, in the arms of her father, was feeling much better.
Just then, the lights switched back on, and there you could see Yuta slumping down further when your daughter let go and hopped back on the couch, burrowing into your side.
“...baby? Are you sure you’re okay-” “i’m fiNE.” Now that the lights were back on, you could see that one of his hands were lower, when the realization of what happened hit, you couldn’t decide whether to comfort him or laugh.
You settled on doing both.
Kamo Noritoshi:
Today, Noritoshi would be teaching your 3 sons how to use a bow and arrow.
You weren’t...too worried, I mean your husband was an expert with the weapon and he was an excellent father but.
They’re still your babies, and they’ll still be handling a dangerous weapon, so you made sure beforehand to remind your husband to be extra careful.
Your sons were 10, 8 and 6. He would have taught your daughters but they’re only 4, and you had to put the age limit somewhere.
You sat with your daughters on the porch, setting out the newspapers and setting the canvases down on top of them. Father’s day was coming up, and you knew Noritoshi would love nothing more from his little girls than pictures they had painted for him.
After you got your daughters started on their paintings, you walked to the other side of the porch to watch as Noritoshi talked to your sons, showing them the proper stance to have and how they should be holding the bow.
You smiled as you thought back to when the two of you were still dating, it had been about 3 months since you two had gotten together, and you remember it had been a day-date the two of you had, where he was teaching you how to use a bow. Long story short, he may have used the excuse to teach you how to use the bow to have your first kiss, but you still remember how fun it was to learn how to use it.
You also may or may not have been admiring how nice he looked using a bow. Now that he was older Noritoshi had let his hair grow longer, today it was kept in a low bun, he was also wearing a tighter fitting t-shirt.
You smirked as his eyes caught your own, you being less than obvious about checking him out as he shook his head, suppressing a laugh as he continued to teach the boys.
He snuck a glance at you, a single glance, wanting to admire his wife’s beauty, but that one glance was enough time for his middlest son, who he left in possession of the bow, to swing around and catch him right in his crotch.
Your jaw dropped and your hand came up to your mouth as you gasped, watching your first-grade powerful sorcerer husband bend over with his hands clamped down on his knees, your sons gasping before backing away.
You made your way down to Noritoshi, softly calling his name before your resolve cracked and you started laughing.
You wiped the tears that had started to slip out of your eyes as your laughter died down, only to start laughing again when your husband glared at you saying ‘You raised them that way’ as he tried to steady his breathing.
Nanami Kento:
Nanami was standing with all the other mom’s and dad’s who were waiting to pick up their kids, texting you that he was there and asking for the grocery list since he’d go ahead and get the groceries on his way home.
You were at a doctor’s appointment for a checkup, you were 4 more months away from having your 2nd child, so Nanami offered to leave work a little early and pick your 3 year old daughter Kumiko up from preschool.
It wasn’t long until the school bell rang, the preschool teacher leading the students out of the building.
Nanami slipped his phone into his pocket, eyes sifting through the crowd of kids to find his little girl.
Once he saw those familiar pigtails bouncing towards him, he smiled, patting her head when she ran into his leg and hugged him.
He gently took hold of her hand and they made their way to his car.
“How was your day sweetheart?” He smiled as her face lit up, her recounting her day and telling him all about her friends and the things they did in school.
Usually you’d be the one to pick her up from school, but due from now on Nanami would be taking her to and from preschool.
Which was no problem he didn’t mind, he just had to remember to put her car seat in his car.
“Wait here, I have to get your car seat.” He shook his head with a small chuckle when she responded with an enthusiastic ‘Okay!’ as she looked around while he got her seat out of the trunk.
While he was fighting to get it free she was getting a little antsy cause...backpacks at that age are heavy man.
She had it sitting on her elbows, little huffs coming out as she resisted the urge to let it drop to the ground, knowing full and well that wouldn’t fly with her dad.
Nanami lifted the seat out of the trunk, closing it and walking back around to the back seat, his view was unfortunately blocked by the seat, so he didn’t see how his daughter was swinging her bag back and forth.
He was one step away from being able to put the seat in the car when his daughter turned exceptionally fast, her bag and all the weight carried with it being swung right into his crotch.
His daughter gasped and turned back around when she heard her dad quietly shout in pain, the car seat being ‘gently’ set on the ground as he bent over, groaning as his daughter stood there, little hands covering her mouth, and also her giggles.
“There’s no doubt about it, she’s your daughter. Not only was she not paying attention, but she also laughed at me when I was in pain.” You threw your head back in laughter as your husband pouted as he rolled away from you towards the other side of the bed, you rubbing his back with a ‘Sorry honey~’, both of you knowing that you really weren’t😌
Fushiguro Toji:
**In this, for his/your kids imma just stick with 5 & 6 year old Megumi and Tsumiki cause it makes sense :p**
Toji had gotten home late last night from a mission, and after a shower and a quick meal he crashed the moment he hit you guys’ bed.
It was now approximately 10:30 am the next day. Toji had woken up earlier, but not even the dark roast black cup of coffee he had could stop him from taking a long nap on the couch.
He had no problem with sleeping the day away, his kids however, they had quite the problem with it.
“*Sigh* Mommy...when’s daddy gonna be awake? Our favorite show is gonna come on soon and he’s taking up the couch.” You turned away from the sink where you were washing the dishes to see Megumi and Tsumiki standing by the counter. Normally you’d encourage them to play with their toys or outside instead, but they had been very well behaved this week and your husband needed to wake up some time.
“Probably soon, he came in late last night, so he’s really tired.” Megumi gave you one of his ‘looks’ while huffing, “Mommy, daddy’s always tired, is it okay if we wake him up?”
You turned the water off as you turned to face him, eyebrow raised as your arms crossed over your chest.
“Are you going to hit him?” “No” “Are you going to pour water on him?” “No” “Are you going to use your shikigamI?”...”Megumi?” “*sigh*...no” Shaking your head you failed to suppress a smile, “Be nice”.
So, your 2 children set out on a mission, mission ‘get dad off of the couch so we can watch cartoons’
It was a solid plan really, although you had removed several options on how they would be able to do said plan, but alas Megumi was a resourceful child and really wanted to watch his cartoons.
Toji had briefly woken up, he was laying on his back, and one of his arms was slung over his eyes, trying to block out the sunlight.
He could hear the sounds of the water running and dishes being moved, along with the light thuds that no doubt came from his children running around and causing chaos.
He was just about to doze back off, just about to get more sleep, when “ATTACK!!” Before he could so much as block his children came hurdling over the side of the couch, Tsumiki landing on his legs while Megumi landed right on his abdomen.
Or rather, meant to, his aim and perception of his father’s height was a little off, so his knee landed a little lower than he would have intended, not like he really thought too hard about it beforehand. Megumi had cartoons to watch and his dad was just an obstacle😞💅.
Toji, who was now wide awake, sat up, hands clutching at his clutch while he stared wide eyed at his children who were nonchalantly sitting on the now mostly available couch, turning the TV to the right channel.
“W-how-why?! You tryin’ to kill me?!” Megumi looked at his father with boredom, shrugging his shoulders with an ‘I dunno’ before turning back to his show. Toji getting up to slump around your shoulders as you broke out in laughter when he told you what happened.
Zen'in Naoya:
People could say what they want about Naoya, that he was stuck up, acted like he was too good for this world, and your personal favorite that he must be a terrible father because he was Naoya Zen’in.
But here he was, dodging his laughing children as they ran around, trying to tag him as he smiled, dipping right at the perfect moment so they couldn’t quite catch him.
You shook your head, leaning against the railing as you watch your husband play with your son and daughter, a smile present on his face as his lightly colored hair swooshed around him.
It was good to see how truly happy he was nowadays, no longer being put up on a pedestal, no longer under the heavy pressure that came from being in the Zen’in clan, and out of the watchful eyes of his family. It was good to see him being himself. Could he still be a jerk? Absolutely. Did he ever dare act that way towards you or your babies? Absolutely not.
“Close, but not close enough.” Your son furrowed his eyebrows as he faced his dad, “That’s not fair! You cheated!” Your little girl echoing his pout as her hands sassily placed themselves on her hips.
Naoya laughed, hand coming up to his chest as he leaned down in front of his children so that his hands were resting on his knees.
“What? Cheating...why would you go and accuse me of that?!” You could tell he was fighting a smile, the way the corners of his lips kept tugging upwards as he struggled to maintain a face of confusion.
“You know what you did dad! You used your speed! And that’s cheating!”
Naoya shook his head, “I would never, right Y/n? I’d never betray my own flesh and blood-” Just as he had turned around to face you, his son had taken a step forward, braced himself, and swung his leg up right in between his father’s and right into his balls.
Shrieking Naoya fell the the grass shaking as he stayed in a modified version of the fetal position as his oldest son ran with his arms raised in victory and his daughter crouched down next to him, poking him asking him if he was dead.
You were still on the porch doubled over in laughter.
“Y-you might not betray your own flesh and blood *wheeze* but they sure did betray you!”
Choso:
Choso and you had taken your 4 year old daughters to the park.
Your guys had 2 wonderful little girls, and even though they were fraternal twins they were still incredibly similar, both in looks and in personality.
As soon as you guys got to the park your girls took off with their cousins (Itadori’s kids cause obviously, it was a play date<3) to go play while you, Choso and the remaining Itadori’s went to sit at one of the pavilions.
You guys had been there for just about an hour when your kids came running back, asking if you guys could push them on the swings.
Choso took one daughter while you took the other, Itadori and his wife doing the same with their sons.
Choso couldn’t keep the smile off his face watching his family, and his extended family being all in one place, all having a good time. He almost shed a tear at how whole he felt, at how fulfilled he felt.
“Daddy! Higher!” Choso smiled wider, “Okay, but you have to hold on! Don’t let go!”. And so, using his big muscles, he (responsibly of course, he’s a good dad and you were right there.) pushed her higher and higher.
Memories of doing this with his own brothers flashed through his head and he couldn’t help but sigh with bliss as he thought about little Yuji doing the same thing.
“Higher!” Not quite thinking, he obliged with his daughters request, the action not quite resonating that he’d need to take a good step back because she was going higher, and also coming back further.
Just when his daughter came swinging back, he realized he was a little too close, and he would’ve been fine, except for the fact that as she went back, her legs curled back, her heels catching him right in between his legs.
Choso could feel his soul leave his body, his body freezing as his daughter gasped, stopping herself as quickly (and as safely since you came over to help her) as she could so she could hop off of her swing and turn to her dad, tugging on her sleeve with worry in her eyes.
This of course attracted the attention of his other child, nephews and most unfortunate of all, his brother. Who when he learned what had happened, burst from the seams of laughter watching his older sister stay kneeled on the ground in pain.
Gojo Satoru:
Gojo didn’t get a lot of time off.
Not only was he a full time teacher, mentor and the strongest sorcerer alive, but he was also a husband and a father, and somehow he managed it quite well to be honest.
You can imagine he was pretty busy, hence he didn’t get a lot of time off.
But when he did, you better believe he spent it with his family.
You guys had 3 boys (I just feel like he’s one that would want multiple kids, so when he is gone, no body’s left alone🥺),and he was always sure to spend time with all 3 equally, being careful never to leave anyone out.
At this particular moment, he was with your 8 year old, your oldest son.
They were playing with swords, and it came as no surprise to you that it was your husband's idea in the first place to play with said swords.
“En garde!” You watched from the doorway as your husband and oldest son fought with the swords, your husband had obviously turned off his infinity to ‘level the playing field’, even though you both knew that wouldn’t do much.
But to his son, it was all he needed to take his old man down.
“Whoa there, you tryin’ to kill me little guy?” Gojo said as he narrowly avoided his eye being poked out by the sword. “Yeah, be careful baby. Those eyes are his only redeeming feature.” Gojo sputtered as your son giggled as you smirked, kissing your son on his head and ruffling his hair before doing the same to your husband who pulled you down for a kiss on the lips.
Being *disgusted* by his parents actions, your son turned around to continue practicing his swordsmanship, completely oblivious to you leaving the room and Gojo walking up behind his son.
Deciding he had mastered his new ‘technique’ his sons eyes lit up, and with his sword ready he turned round ready to show his dad his new trick.
“Hey dad! Check this-” As soon as his upper body had spun around the thick foam sword he had been wielding thrust itself directly into Gojo’s crotch, causing the man to slump to his knees, then to his side, hands still guarding his lower region as he shook.
Your son then got up, eyes wide as he slowly slipped out of the room, telling you ‘Dad’s down….I think he’s gonna be down for a while.’ when he passed you in the hallway.
Sukuna Ryomen:
You and your husband Sukuna’s son had just turned 2 a couple of months ago, and so far the so called ‘terrible twos’ had been far more than terrible, and you were starting to think it was genetic…
“I- what do you mean no?! You like carrots!” You sighed as your fingers massaged your temples, watching as your husband fought with your toddler to get him to eat his lunch.
“No, I don’t like them daddy.” Your son huffed, his dark brows drawn close together as he returned the glare Sukuna was giving him.
When this started happening, you had obviously stepped in, and your son would eat his vegetables and what not when you told him to. The problem came when Sukuna asked him to, and that’s where the problem stemmed from. The real problem at hand being his ego.
“Well, that’s too bad. Carrots are good for your ears or whatever, and if you want to be big and strong like daddy, you have to eat those carrots.” Your son crossed his little arms over his chest, turning his head away and refusing to look towards his father.
You sighed, standing up and walking over to where your husband sat, slowly rubbing his shoulders and back until he was no longer seconds away from exploding. “Honey, take a breather, he’s just being difficult again you know this.” Sukuna huffed, grumbling as he took an angry sip from his coffee.
“Still...he does it when you ask...just not when I do it..” You knew this had little to do with his son not eating his carrots, and all to do with his son not listening to him, which he of course equated to his son not liking him. Which truly wasn’t the case, the twos are just not a good time for toddlers (parents…).
Putting on your sternest mom expression, you walked in front of your son, “Ryosuke. Your dad’s asked you several times to eat your carrots, you need to eat them baby.” Your toddler grumbled before turning back to his plate and eating his carrots, your husbands jaw dropping as you walked past him and softly patted his shoulder.
When your son finished his lunch, you had gone to switch the laundry from the washer to the dryer, so you weren’t there to let him out of his high chair. And as much as he didn’t want to associate with the enemy aka dad…
He uh...kinda needed out of that chair :p
Putting aside his toddler pride he stuck his arms up, “Daddy...get mommy...I wan’ out.” Sukuna raised an eyebrow, looking at his son with a gaze that said ‘really?’.
“I’m right here, your moms busy but I’ll let you out bud.” Your son pouted, trying his best to glare at his dad, but even the fiery gaze from his own flesh and blood didn’t stop the king of curses from getting out of his chair and walking around to the high chair.
Undoing the straps and latches he lifted his squirming son out of the chair, immediately having to adjust his grip so he didn’t drop him.
“Hey! Ryosuke stop kicking me! You’re going to fa-” Just then one of his sons legs went flying into Sukuna’s crotch. Just then you had walked out of the laundry room and into the kitchen/dining room, watching as your husband clumsily set down your son who ran but more like wobbled over towards you.
You just watched as Sukuna tightly gripped the table, his form still shaking as your son wobbled off to his playroom while you walked over to your husband, who was trying to dull the stinging pain of being brutally betrayed by his first born.
Sakusa was always a difficult child. At least, that’s what his mother had told him growing up. He was the fussiest of his siblings, and quite frankly, the brattiest. It came with being the youngest, he supposed, especially being much younger than his siblings. There was always one issue with him.
Sakusa Kiyoomi did not share beds.
Time and time again, his mother had begged him to share a bed with his brother on family vacations, argued that setting up an air mattress for Komori in every sleep over was too tedious, that he couldn’t expect his aunt to always set one up for him when he went over, yet Sakusa remained stubborn.
Sakusa Kiyoomi would not share a bed with anyone.
But then, much to everyone’s surprise, came along you, and all of his self imposed rules flew out the window. It was okay for you to touch his hair, you were only trying to fix it, he’d argue. It was okay for you to steal part of his snack, you’d washed your hands, he’d reason. And, the real shocker, it was okay for you to share his bed. This one had even him confused, even he had no explanation why.
Maybe it was because you were warm, or maybe it was because you rubbed his chest— it was soothing, he slept better— or maybe, just maybe, it was because he simply had a soft spot for you.
Whatever it may be, Sakusa Kiyoomi wanted you to spend the night in his arms— this night and the next, and then all the other nights after that.
“Omi, I have to go,” you chuckled, fingers carding through his curls as his face buried itself deeper into your chest. Those were the cursed words he’d been dreading to hear all night.
“No, you don’t.”
“Yes, baby, I do.” A low groan slipped past his lips— if you’d listened closely, it was more of a whine— before he looked up at you. He was clearly unhappy.
“Why?” Smiling gently, you cupped his cheeks.
“Because, Mr. Sakusa Kiyoomi, I have to go to work tomorrow.”
“But it’s your day off tomorrow, l/n y/n.” Rolling your eyes, you poked the tip of his nose, laughing softly at the way he crinkled it when you did.
“I already told you, I have to fill in for—”
“You don’t have to,” he argued. Sighing, you smoothed back his hair.
“Omi, she always fills in for me. I gotta do her this one favor, babe,” you tried to reason. His head collapsed back onto your chest.
“Well, why can’t you just spend the night? I don’t see what the issue is if we fall asleep early.”
“Because you live too far, I’ll have to wake up early to beat the traffic, and my clothes are at my place, and then— Omi, we have this conversation like once a week.” He pouted into the fabric of your shirt— not that you’d see— pitying himself for the distasteful circumstances.
“Well, maybe you should work closer.”
“Omi, I practically live with you at this point,” you chuckled. “You can handle one night without me.” Slowly, Sakusa’s head rose from your chest once again, eyes focused intensely on your collarbone, not daring to look at you as he spoke his next words.
“You could, you know,” he said softly.
“Huh?” Pouting— this time for you to see— his cheeks dusted with a reddish hue.
“You could... you know? Live with me. My lease is ending soon, anyway. I could move closer.” You stared at him, eyes wide, making him shift nervously under your gaze. Just before he could retract his statement and claim he was joking, you kissed his forehead.
“I hate the idea of going apartment hunting with you, you’re like the pickiest person I’ve ever met, but I love the idea of living with you more, so I’ll gladly suffer.” Instantly, his mood brightened, a soft grin erupting across his features.
Sakusa Kiyoomi did not share beds, but with you, he’d share a whole apartment if it meant he’d get to spend that much more time with you.
I swear I write for other characters other than Sakusa, he’s like all my blog is anymore, but this idea was stuck in my head after my friend texted me that she has to share a bed with her sister for the weekend while they have guests over and I caved and wrote a small drabble 😭
notes: ive been thinking a lot about the ways in which we show love, and i was trying to think about how i show love (i think its words of affirmation but who knows), and it got me to thinking about the love languages that our boys show.
to these boys, words speak louder than actions (literally). they show their love in unsolicited compliments, in a reminder of how much you mean to them, in the way their eyes shine when they tell you that they love you. they want you to know the inner workings of their mind and what their love for you is like. some of these boys never show a lot of love verbally, so its specially for the ones they deem important. however, some of these boys use verbal reminders of love as a form of free currency, spreading their love to the world by being soft, king, and encouraging. these boys would never insult you, and even if roasting you they would envelop it with positive words and a reminder of your importance to them. they want you to know they could never forget about your impact on them, and they show that by being there for the people they love, authentically. the words i love you are the seed to every word that they say, and youll know that with them.
love is… in a letter, in goodnights whisper, in a text message, in a compliment, in a reassurance, in a long winded speech on your anniversary, in a drunk phonecall when hes out with friends about how much he loves you.
you know these boys love you when they give you full, undivided attention -because its not something they do for everyone. this means putting everything aside and being there for the person they love - computer off, phone away, and all chores and tasks on standby. they want to make you feel special and loved through their time, whether its cuddling and talking about your day, or making a meal together. sharing a quality conversation and fun activities is the way they show you that youre their world. love is all about finding the time, regardless of whats going on in their lives or the world, and spending it with the person they love - because its how they recharge. its one-on-one energy, and the love of eye contact and intimate moments, and whatever their partner wants to do for fun. their undivided time for you, amongst all the business of the world, is special to them, and a reminder that love is valued above all to them.
love is… ignoring your notification while together, making special days, looking your partner in the eye lovingly, in mealtimes, on date nights, leaving a party early to spend time together.
giving gifts.
— ATSUMU, SEMI, Yamaguchi, Terushima, Asahi, Lev, Hanamaki, Futakuchi, Taichi
gift giving is often seen as a superficial form of love, which is completely incorrect. its in knowing you so well that they see you in everything. their love is in effort and thoughtfulness, often in a gift. but a gift can be buying you your favourite drink on the way home, or the perfect holiday gift. its the visual manifestation of love, a representation of how well they know and see the ones they love. their love is a prized possession to them, and the gesture of giving the perfect gift on a birthday or a random tuesday is that showcased. not about the cost, but about the thought. they would do anything to make sure you know your worth, and to you you mean the world. these boys see you when theyre in a store, because their love is always at the forefront of their mind. they knows their gifts will never even scrap the surface of how much you mean to them, but they hope to spoil you to remind you that you deserve to be loved.
love is… in picking up a gift from a holiday, cutting up fruit when your partner is busy, in remembering all the little things, in thinking “this is perfect for them”, in everyday gestures.
to love and be loved by someone whose love language is acts of service feels like being appreciated. their love is alleviating stress, and easing the burdens that their loved ones deal with. the idea of handling responsibilities for their loved ones is how they show they see what you do, and respect you for it. to them, there is no such thing as a broken commitment to them, and actively work to create less work for the ones they love. here, ACTIONS speak louder than words. lending a helping hand and going through with promises is how they remind you that you are their world. the world is so tough, so rough, and their love for you is an attempt to cover that up. they would do anything to make the world a little easier, a little softer, and a little breathable for you.
love is… having coffee ready before you wake up, a text saying theyre picking up dinner, doing the bed while youre in the shower, washing the dishes after dinner, taking your makeup off when youre asleep.
this love actually isn’t inherently sexual as many are taught to believe. this love is obviously touchy, but in a way that reminds the ones they love that they are present, that they care, and that they hope to be a stable part of their world. a hug can feel like the the one thing holding them together. their physical presence is how they show excite, love, care, and even concern. youre their home, and your arms are their world. the people they love are the anchor in the harsh seas of life, and their lovers physical body is how they hold on. they communicate their feelings through a shoulder squeeze or a hand behind their lovers neck - all in the way they touch, is the way they feel. its not that they dont know how to say how they feel, but it feels like so much, it feels explosive at times, and it feels like the only way to even remotely describe their love is through a touch - soft or intense, encompassing or featherlight.
love is… in public displays of affection, in a tight grip hug, in tracing their fingers across your skin, in tucking your hair behind your ear, in a temple kiss, in an absentminded hand on your thigh.
So I borrowed a bunch of these fictional kisses from this post and made it up into a prompt list. Feel free to reblog of course!
breaking the kiss to say something, staying so close that you’re murmuring into each other’s mouths
moving around while kissing, stumbling over things, pushing each other back against the wall/onto the bed
kissing so desperately that their whole body curves into the other person’s
throwing their arms around the other person, holding them close while they kiss
hands on the other person’s back, fingertips pressing under their top, drawing gentle circles against that small strip of bare skin that make them break the kiss with a gasp
lazy morning kisses before they’ve even opened their eyes, still mumbling half-incoherently, not wanting to wake up
routine kisses where the other person presents their cheek/forehead for the hello/goodbye kiss without even looking up from what they’re doing
being unable to open their eyes for a few moments afterward
one small kiss, pulling away for an instant, then devouring each other
staring at the other’s lips, trying not to kiss them, before giving in
when one stops the kiss to whisper “I’m sorry, are you sure you-” and they answer by kissing them more
a hoarse whisper “kiss me”
following the kiss with a series of kisses down the neck
starting with a kiss meant to be gentle, ending up in passion
a gentle “i love you” whispered after a soft kiss, followed immediately by a stronger kiss
when one person’s face is scrunched up, and the other one kisses their lips/nose/forehead
height difference kisses where one person has to bend do wn and the other is on their tippy toes
kisses where one person is sitting in the other’s lap
kisses meant to distract the other person from whatever they were intently doing
1. Joon Hyung is not a guy you have to change for. He likes you, as you are. Pimples on nose and all. It always irked me that dramas like She Was Beautiful or 200 Pound Beauty or every other teeny bopper romcom in the States - looking at you She’s All That - always has this makeover scene where the frumpy heroine becomes a bombshell goddess.
Bok Joo doesn’t have that moment. She doesn’t have a montage where her hair becomes all silky and she’s wearing heels and she takes off her glasses and why she’s a goddess.
Joon Hyung saw a Bok Joo that was in sweats, a weightlifter, with calluses on her hands. And he liked her for it, because what happened to Joon Hyung was not that Bok Joo became pretty and bam he liked her.
What happened to Joon Hyung was that he got to know Bok Joo. How she was a kind daughter, a loyal friend and a good person. He got to know a Bok Joo who made his heart warm and that was what made her beautiful to him.
Not her physical appearance.
And I don’t know about you, but that’s just really lovely for me.
2. Jealous Joon Hyung is not asshole Joon Hyung. Most K-drama guys become macho-men I’ll pee over you like a dog because you’re mine when they get jealous. Jealousy, by itself is not bad per se. But jealousy that leads you to treat characters as objects (see Lee Min Ho in BoF, Heirs and now LotBS) it crosses a line from awwww so cute to ewwww I’ll get a restraining order on you.
This is why jealous Joon Hyung is my favorite guy. Joon Hyung gets jealous because he likes Bok Joo and some other guy is chummy with her. But his response is:
a. To ASK Bok Joo, not to DEMAND Bok Joo not to see this guy again.
b. And when he realized his jealousy stemmed from loving feelings for Bok Joo instead of cooking up a sick reason to keep other guy away, he tells her straight. I’m jealous because I like you. Give me a chance. It’s all up to you. Do with me as you please.
This is what’s good about them. Even jealousy is healthy for them, it’s a driver for them to address how they feel.
3. Joon Hyung is not a knight in shining armor. He thinks Bok Joo is strong enough to fight her battles, but that doesn’t mean he can’t support her.
He looked after her dad.
He did not kick up a shit storm when they had to be apart because she’s training for the national team. Instead he understood that to Bok Joo being an athlete comes first, and her family second and he’s happy to be there to help her with it. That’s what makes Joon Hyung such a loveable guy. He doesn’t demand that he be the center of your universe. He just wants to share the world with you.
And after all the macho men who think it’s romantic to tell a girl to ignore her family and dreams and responsibilities and look at me, only look at me, Joon Hyung is a refreshing reminder that love is not selfish, love is not an or but an and. And that when you truly love someone your life opens up to include them in it.
“Redemption: An act of redeeming or atoning for a fault or mistake.” An act, implying action, which is created by choices, which just happens to be the basis of character development.
Some writers confuse redemption arcs with things they are not, and end up creating situations which aren’t redemption arcs at all, but rather bad writing, such as when:
The villainous character’s actions are never condemned by the heroic characters and the story, even when the villain is in the process of doing villainous things.
The villainous character is immediately forgiven for all the wrong they’ve done despite making no real effort to change their ways.
The villainous character suddenly becomes a genuinely good person without any notable character growth.
The villainous character is suddenly made unaccountable for their villainous actions because it’s revealed that someone else forced them to do it. Bonus bad writing: All blame is placed on the heroic characters for being unable to see how ‘traumatized’ the villainous character has been.
So now that we know what a redemption arc is not, how do we write a good one?
“Some villains don’t deserve to have a redemption arc.”
Um no?? This is wrong??
No villain deserves a redemption arc.
But every villain could have one, if they tried, if they worked towards it, if they’re written well in both their understanding of their wrongs and their dedication to being a better person.
No villain deserves a redemption arc because change isn’t about deserving heroism. It’s about seeing your faults for what they are and deciding to be better even when it’s hard and it hurts.
The entire point of a redemption arc is that the villain doesn't deserve it, and that the villain understands and accepts that. Proper redemption arcs are those in which the villain does good not because they’re trying to gain anything for themselves but because they realize it’s the right fucking thing to do and they don’t care if it’s the death of them as long as it saves someone else.
And using the word deserve in reference to a redemption arc is just a mess all on it’s own, because it acts like redemption is some some fun jaunt to a place of happiness and cookies which all villains would love to go if the writer gave them the option. But it’s not.
Redemption is a trail. A crucible. Whether emotionally or physically or both, it hurts.
If a redemption arc doesn’t require suffering — more suffering than villainy did — to reach the final place of happiness then that’s just bad writing yo.
It’s called an arc for a reason, because it takes time, and effort, and change.
So yeah, some villains (all villains) don’t deserve their sins to be suddenly erased. But if a villain sees their sins for what they are and makes a genuine effort to change then fucking good on them. No one is too far gone unless they chose to be. Everyone who continues to be ‘too far gone’ is so because they are choosing to be, whether they understand that yet or not.
hi! i wondered if you had any tips for going about writing a redemption arc?
Hi!
Redemption arcs are one of the greatest ways to show character development in writing. So I had fun thinking about what goes into a typical redemption arc.
Redemption Arc
A character overcomes their flaws and redeems themself from their mistakes.
The character’s motivations and needs
there are a few things you need to decide for your character
what negative traits does the character have?
can you see them easily or are they hidden and come out in some kind of betrayal situation?
are they aware of their negative traits and wrongdoings?
do they have control over them?
do they want to be better or do they have no remorse in the beginning?
the character could be a bad guy because they want to, because they are forced to, because they have good intentions but go about it the wrong way, because their taught to be one
the character doesn’t need to be a major villain, you can also write a great redemption arc about someone whose opinions or beliefs caused harm to others, but through time and effort they realize their mistakes
Timeline
the character starts off with negative traits and making mistakes
they probably face repercussions for this
these could be good or bad, but should ultimately get the character to think about their behavior
which leads into the realization/enlightenment part where they see the errors of their way and want tot do better
the last part is the true redemption, it can be one big event or a series of smaller things that make the reader and the other characters forgive the bad guy or at least acknowledge their betterment
Examples
the self-sacrifice: the bad guy realizes that the good guys are right and sacrifice themself to save them and redeem their past through this selfless act
the teamwork-makes-the-dream-work: the bad guy does have a good point, but they just don’t go about it the right way, so the good guys induct them into their team and hope that they can control themself for the sake of good intentions
the failed redemption: the bad guy is on their best way to be a good person, but one final event brings them right back to making a choice and they choose the bad one
the isn’t it ironic?: the bad guy did the bad things for one specific reason (motivation or need) and they can just never achieve it, no matter how bad they are, but ironically achieve it by being good
the enemy-turned-family: favourite trope, the bad guy somehow ends up with the good guys and they treat them with respect, and why are they being so nice to them? Slowly the enemy becomes part of the family and suddenly they’re on breakfast duty and make really nice eggs for the whole crew
Reminder
The terms bad guy and good guys was used in this post out of simplicity. A redemption arc doesn’t have to be about heroes and villains. It can also be about the bitchy Queen B who realizes that she doesn’t have to be like this to make friends, or the strict father who learns that his behavior makes his kids resent him and wants to become a better father to better their relationship, or the employer who doesn’t listen to his employees but then sees themself that the hierarchy in the company was being abused by some managers and tries to create a safer work space for everyone. Everyone has flaws and character development is one of the most interesting things to read and it keeps readers on their toes and makes them root for characters.
I hope you write some awesome redemption arcs and have fun!
