Okay so this is so super important!! I was watching Liza on demand on YouTube (it’s funny plus I love Liza) and one episode was she woke up and couldn’t say sorry for an entire day and she was straight up and honest with everyone and it really got her places and people respected her more. Now of course they explored the reasons you do need to say sorry when she ditched her friends but it got me thinking sorry is my most used word and I hate that. As Liza said “I apologize so much it’s like I’m apologizing for my existence” and you know what YOU KNOW WHAT I’m done. The worst part is in work last weekend I said to my coworker cause I had gotten in his way, in like a jokey way, oh I should get sorry tattooed to my forehead and he stopped me behind a busy bar with customers waiting looked me in the eye and was like please don’t. I was shook because he was right so I am now limiting my use of sorry I’m not going to blurt it out because I’m tired of being less respected, seen as weak and taking the blame for things I didn’t even do! Like, again in work, another week I was carrying a dish through the kitchen and one of the chefs and the kitchen helper both ran into me and honestly it was the kitchen helpers fault (he’s a little misogynistic bitch) but FOR SOME REASON I apologized so then everyone in the kitchen was like oh Jessica be more careful and watch where your going and the two guys who I collided with laughed and walked off like I hadn’t just gotten food spilt all over me and taken the blame for something that WASN’T MY FAULT. To conclude this rant which I will not be apologizing for, the person I strive to be doesn’t take the blame to keep the peace she stands up for herself and IS NOT SORRY!!
