what is it?

rpcharities was created in hopes to spread awareness and get this community involved in the world around them. it is intended to inspire roleplayers to educate, research, and support charities and organizations that are meaningful. by donating to them and sending proof of their donation to the blog, they are eligible to receive resources such as icons, graphics, art, and promos. 

how does it work?

rpcharities has an incomplete list of charities and organizations worth supporting for a variety of different causes, from college funds to hurricane relief to mental health treatment for lgbtq poc. this list is constantly being updated, and is open to your suggestions to add or possibly even remove organizations that may be harmful. by selecting a charity listed on the blog and providing a minimum $5/€4.04 donation, you are eligible for receiving any of the resources listed on the blog. sending a screenshot to either the rpcharities ims or submission box as proof of your donation (email, receipt, etc) you will be able to discuss with rpcharities what you would like in return. credit isn’t necessary, but you should definitely look at the organizations you choose to donate to – who knows, you may have a local event in your area worth participating in!

once you place in your request, it’ll take about a few days to two weeks depending on the item. as of right now, all resources are made by cam (me!). while i’ll try to get your requests back to you within a reasonable time, i cannot promise to be speedy quick. i hope that this doesn’t inconvenience anyone in the near future.

     with his leadership, the atheistic princinity compound in northern california was formed. entirely self-sufficient, populated with environmentalists, educational reformers, and activists. a group driven on intelligence and morality with hopes of creating a utopia where all men are equal, no men are corrupt, and there isn’t a catastrophe in sight.

     that’s to say before journalist investigations revealed lsd trafficking, taboo rituals, and attempted murder.

     this is a discord rp server based off the contents of @utoprison. the princinity compound is a cult that existed from the late eighties to 1995, and was run by prince shilowich and darshana muzumdar, his personal assistant. inspired by real-life cults such as rajneeshpuram and jonestown, this server will take place within the princinity compound’s golden years. the cult contains a hierarchy of power, from personal assistants to prince himself to leaders of certain divisions within the compound, as well as followers of many intellectual practices (medicine, environmentalism, law, philosophy, and more) and law enforcement. the cult exists on its own in siskiyou county, but is entirely self-sufficent: members farm their own food, construct their own living spaces, create their own recreational activities, and live together in harmony. they fight heavily for environmental change, education, law, and prison reforms, social justice, and rights to free speech. they make a somewhat substantial impact in california and raise awareness on injustice in government systems. but as great as this sounds, princinity also has a steady operation of lsd manufacturing and trafficking as well as numerous other criminal activities behind closed doors. they are known to stir incidents up with local towns nearby as well as trying to influence elections. oh, and prince may or may not be corrupt. 

     this is original character driven group, but exceptions may be welcome. they must be somewhat historical (90s) and be real (no mutants, witches). their role in princinity is entirely up to you! the only pre-established character is prince shilowich, who is open to anyone at the moment.

    ( he lunges out at the young girl, stretches out his arm to her in order to stop her in her path. she twists her body around, startled by his outstretched hand. his next capture within reach -- a young, fresh-faced indian-american college student. she fits exactly who he seeks; prince wants no more than those in pursuit of a system that is failing them. 

      she steps back, “may i help you?”

      “i’m guessing your interview didn’t go well.”

     as he replies to her, prince appears pleased about the success of his confrontation; there’s a half-smile starting little fires around the corners of his mouth and eyes, and the tension of his body’s joints start to loosen, and just as that moment he hands the girl with the spidery frame a decorated flyer with chunks of information on it. he watches as her hand makes contact with the paper, curious -- his favorite sight, curiousness -- and glancing over the words. she can see herself in my movement already.

     the second her hand touches the paper, he recognizes her interest. she does not need to ask questions. why should she, as she flips through it and skims? her energy shifts, shifts away from cautiousness to intrigue, and soon she’s in the thick of it -- wonder, that is. “so you’re a reformer, then.” )

     his grin had been so wide, she had never forgotten it.

     the eyes in the back of her head send false alarms that he is watching. she can still hear him, clear as day, above the din of the prisoners conversing with one another, slamming their trays, their shouts and laughter drowned out by the voice in her head. surely, he must be there. it would be hard to miss with prince: a strong, distinct presence of a person that’s impossible to ignore, less with outright charisma but with enough care in his words you can feel it sinking into your skin, a layer of warmth, a suit of armor that he uses to command those who follow. she knows he is not, but he remains all the same. prince’s phantom turns her mind away to the stack of books in her cell that stain her hands with dust, books who’s pages fail to sweep her away, despite the inner contents inside. she has to will herself to read, in order to distract herself from the ghost of past years in the abandoned compound she had dedicated herself to. willing herself to read and forcing herself to observe every word with copious amounts of attentiveness, which with luck take her away from california sun, the rustle of trees, grass caresses, brown earth, sweat, and the rare luck of prince’s driftwood smell transferred by embrace.

      but he does not let up tonight. she’s tried reading already. it’s as if darshana can feel him looking at her as she watches the flicks of light on her darkened ceiling, darting her eyes to follow the balls flying to and fro -- another hallucination, though this one more frequent. he wants to capture her attention. she’s accustomed to the feeling by now, accepted her psychosis. she no longer marvels at this feeling as she once did, anxiously trying to describe it to her psychologist. prince’s grin will forever be imprinted in her mind, and his arms will always be clasped around her. no matter how much she screams, wriggles, attempts to elbow her way out. a reformer with a creased face had captured her that day, in that split second that she had froze up, staring at a pamphlet. his apparition grins at her. 

      “fuck your reform.”

      the woman below her stirs.

          edith isn’t wrapped in anything pressing. on the contrary, she is unaccompanied and unconcerned by the passage of time. she sits with her back to the sunlight at the very farthest table. her own body casting shade over the pages of a poetry book, she takes thoughtful bites of a spinach quiche, her eyes narrowing occasionally behind her sunglasses. 

          but edith’s languidness does not equate to a lack of concentration. the thrust of an arm in her direction startles her, and she jumps back to the farther corner of her chair with a frown on her lips. could it be another waitress ? no ; enamored as california may be with casual dining, this staff’s wardrobe isn’t nearly as colorful. as though her mind is just catching up to her body, she replies in a tone half-confused and half-perturbed : “excuse me ?”

    she’s latched on and closed in on edith, but the response only leaves darshana with a wide-eyed look; she is stumped, unable to believe she has gotten such a harsh answer, and now she’s stuck stewing in her own failure. princinity searches far and wide for the rich and famous, and she’s just lost a potentially major player. darshana should be subject to punishment.

    no! she narrows her eyes, determined to resolve the matter at hand, not letting herself fail so soon. she will do whatever she needs to do to get the folk singer invested in her cause. she keeps her arm extended, not hesitating to close in the distance. not a tremble in sight. darshana behaves as if this is her sole option. “we’re working to create an educational reform that’ll help better american society and battle against discrimination of all kinds towards children.”

    joyfully, she tiptoes her way down the steps and into the hungry crowd. their arms extended out to her practically drag her, thanking her, asking her a million questions. disciplined as always, she nods and laughs, kissing the hands of some. these are her newly-found supporters, soon-to-be members of princinity flocking to her compound. they will be taught lessons in a million ways. they will achieve their wildest dreams. they will become wisest, the most intelligent, superior. princinity’s mission will continue with a chain of successes in higher thinking, passing on down generation to generation. darshana is blessed to be at the center of it all, infected by the joy of her audience. she is positively possessed with glee.

    it is with this enthusiasm she locks eyes with a man in the crowd, approaches him, and begins to press kisses to his cheeks. darshana knows he is one of the others seeking guidance, blessings, answers. when she pulls away, she smiles: “you will be one of the special ones, i’m sure of it.”

darshana was a singular case, dr. jekyll found. most men and women in prisons that he had met protested their innocence right up until their sentencing; there were few who confessed willingly to their crimes, and even fewer who did it as calmly and matter-of-factly as darshana had done. he wasn’t entirely sure whether to find that refreshing or disconcerting. 

once he had released her hand, he set his files on the table between them and settled down into one of the chairs. “ now, ” he said, “ first of all, i’ll have to have you sign a consent form stating that you give permission to record this session. ” he slid a piece of paper and a pen across the table towards her. “ it’s just for my personal use in this study — it won’t be released to any outside party, and any statements you make will be kept anonymous. ”

    the interview’s begun. the guard in the corner shuffles his feet. darshana copies dr. jekyll’s formalities, redirecting her gaze from the barred window to the paper before her. a mesh of professional text, checkered with fancy words to make a rather boring statement somehow spark meaning. she willingly writes her signature, glances up at her interviewer as if to make private calculations of his character. what will she be asked this time, she wonders?

     she could have gone into a field like his, had she taken the logical path in life. she could have been preceding groups of investigators, investigating former members of religions. the thought of her own self saying any statements you make will be kept anonymous amuses her... yet simultaneously saddens her.

     “it’s signed.”

so is lsd trafficking and the one attempted murder the only thing princinity was shut down for?? Ik you mentioned in the pages voter fraud and various things so im curious for what all they did

good question! princinity had always been seen as suspicious. coming out of eras that had situations such as jonestown and manson, most everybody was on edge about the subject of “cults”. so many believed that princinity had a darker history. and they weren’t exactly wrong.

the lsd trafficking and attempted murder by darshana are the publicized aspects. these are the actual charges that are placed on darshana and prince, and soon the princinity members disperse and the cult falls apart. it is because of these that the cult shuts down. however, that’s not to say other shady doings went on... prince’s policies on his non-religion religion led to brainwashing (as seen with darshana when shes portrayed in her cult verse), sexual abuse, faulty marriages, voter fraud, violence, animal abuse, and prostitution. many of these were from individual members rather than prince or darshana, but the representation of a utopia wasn’t always... uh... accurate!!
