Mito not only found a scroll containing information regarding the creation and obtention of the byakugō seal but also a secondary scroll containing jutsu that are only able to be used in conjunction with the byakugō seal. She was able to copy 14 of the 20 jutsu down before the scroll disintegrated from age and water damage. Mito- aside from being able to master and obtain the seal in 3 weeks- was also able to learn 10 of the 14 jutsu she had noted down. The jutsu on the original scroll was written in a language thought undecipherable by most but Mito- being a scholar by nature- spent many months learning the language so she could translate the 14 she managed to note down before the scroll disintegrated.

Her mastery of some of these techniques is not perfect while others are flawless recreations. Mito pooled her knowledge on this seal into a scroll which she later hid in the Uzumaki Storage Temple that sits on the outskirts of Konoha. This temple was destroyed and the scroll was dislodged from it's hiding place, though it remained untouched for nearly 23 years. 

It fell to one Senju Tsunade to locate and open the seal for the first time since her grandmother put it in the temple. Mito had noted down as much as she could in regards to each technique, although most of the information was based on educated speculation rather than known details. Some of this information went wholly ignored while some was learnt and then passed on. Mito has- for all intents and purposes- been the only person to willingly learn the older language used in the original scrolls. There are other scrolls detailing more information but they are hidden away in a place that most people would never go. As such, they will likely never be found and the information will never be known.

Rumor: Uzumaki Mito was not fond of Senju Tobirama because she didn't approve of his methods (when he became the Nindaime)

“I will admit, Namikaze-san, that I lost respect for Tobirama-san once he began his experimentation. I felt that he had waited for the death of his brother to be able to actively work on his studies. Upon his becoming the Nidaime, I was a shade disappointed to see his bias become a reality. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the ability to change anything at the time due to my needing to care for my grandchildren taking up priority. I cannot say I was not fond of him, as that would be untrue, but I can say I was dreadfully disappointed in him and his choices.”

An amused chuckle left crimson lips as the other woman spoke, her sunglasses glinting in the winter sun as the two sat outside a cafe enjoying a drink after a particularly violent killing spree. She was enjoying a simple green tea while the other tried drowning herself in a large coffee. “I won’t even deny that, Karin-chan,” Mito purrs silkily, “You swearing is not that much of a surprise, you tend to do that a lot.” She also wouldn’t deny the fact that the girl seems addicted to coffee and that she is supplying that addiction by buying her multiple large cups of coffee.

It had been a long, tiring day for Hashirama. Mito could tell just by looking at him that today was yet another day that he was just trying to get through on little energy. Their newborn daughter- their beautiful firstborn- was a loud infant who kept them both up at night with Hashirama getting up to take care of her when she cried to let Mito recover a bit more. She wasn’t incapable but she was still rather weak from the birth. Today was a day that Mito had a lot more energy than usual so she was up and cleaning the house when he got home, their daughter in a sling around her chest. Setting aside her broom, she walked over to him and smiled, “Welcome home.” Reaching up and cupping his jaw gently with her petite hands, Mito pulls him down carefully to press a loving kiss to his lips. It only lasted a moment but she could tell it made him very happy and that made another soft smile curl her lips.

Mito was nothing if not observant as she noticed when her husband wanted attention. He'd give her a certain kind of look, one that indicated that he wanted her to pay attention to him. So when he came trotting over to her after she breastfed their son and sat himself down so that he could lay his head in her lap, she accepted him doing so and merely set their baby on his chest so that he could hold him. Then, she began gently and lovingly running her slender fingers through his hair while a soft smile leeched onto her rosy lips.
