With a shake of his head Matt said, “Nope. Actually moved here a couple years back. I did come from Vegas though which is quite a change weather wise.” Truth be told Matt’s moved from place to place to place in search of the right one that’ll feel like home. Aksel might be onto something about you feel at home with the right person. Which makes him smile thinking about it. “How about you? You a Seattle native?” He carefully lifted Sandy up to kiss the top of her head and said, “This little lady is named Sandy. Usually it’s me and my boyfriend walking her around but he’s working tonight.” Matt shared as he settled her back onto his lap. “Don’t let the sweet face fool you, this one likes to get into our stuff and chew it to bits. 

“Vegas is super humid right?” Vaughn asked as he glanced back over towards the other man. He had traveled the world, but the thing he hated the most was the heat. He would not have lasted in Vegas even if he was a fan of the gambling and drinking.  “ Were you from Vegas originally?” He asked before nodding his head at the question. “ Yeah I was born here. My family owns part of the city basically, which is why I decided to leave for a while. Too much expectations. “ He explained before looking at the dog with a  half smile. “ She’s cute. What kind of dog ?” He asked before reaching out to pet her. “ That’s how it always is. It’s always the cutest that are the most trouble”

“It’s not that bad,” Ale replied, shrugging and starting to look around. Eventually he took his phone out so he could use the flashlight feature, which helped a little bit in the dark area. “Significantly less classy is getting worked up just sitting at your dinner table out there. So if my date isn’t ashamed, why should you be?” His tone was a little bitter, but he couldn’t really help it. He was a little bitter. His date was going shitty. And there wasn’t anything he could really do about it. “This it?” He asked, seeing something that looked like black fabric and picking it up to hold out to the other. “You don’t need to thank me. Honestly, I don’t want to go back out there, so.”

“ Honestly I’ve been in worst situation's, though none of them have felt as sitcom as this. “ Vaughn admitted as he kept searching for his shirt let alone anything useful to wear. He had to say nothing felt this comical. He would have just walked out shirtless but he liked the food at this place and didn’t want to get banned as a result. “ Shit, that bad? What’s going on out there?” He asked as he continued to search. “ It is. Yeah. Thank you you’re a life saver” He replied before pulling on the shirt.

“Come on man, I’ll have the money tomorrow just…please.” It was no use though because he had already over used every ounce of credit he had in him with all the dealers he knew in town. He shuffled away defeated and turned to see a familiar face behind him. “Oh for fucks sake. The last thing I need is anyone else to reprimand me for poor life choices so just, save it.” He shook his head and tried to push past them. Liam was obviously high and not his usual self because his head was so clouded trying to fill a void that was never gonna be found.

Vaughn had seen that situation before many times. Back when he was in debt with other people before he ran from Seattle he had been on that end of the conversation. He had been in the area out of professional curiosity. Just to make sure those he had done wrong in the past were gone or at the very least willing to make thing’s square now. He had expected seeing what was in front of him, but he wasn’t sure how it would go on his end. “ Trust me, poor life choices was my motto for years. Don’t worry about it. “ Vaughn replied shaking his head before looking back at the other male. “ You good?”

Matt enjoyed these evenings where things felt right with the world. Work wore him out, but he felt good with how the day went. He decided to go for a walk along the pier with Sandy, since Aksel has a performance tonight. It’s just him and this adorable ball of fluff. He sat on a bench and pulled her up to sit on his lap. “I know a lot of people view this city as nothing but rainy and gloomy but then you get these kinds of evenings where the breeze is just right. Makes it nice, you know?” he said to the person next to him with a smile. 

Vaughn had just finished having a cigarette as he tried to clear his head. He was still stressed out about his current employment situation and the mess he had ben left by his father, but he was working around it. He was trying.  He let out a sigh before an adorable ball of fluff appeared and the faintest of smiles appeared on his face. “ Did you grow up here? I think a lot of those opinions are dependent on if you spent your whole life in the city or not. “Vaughn noted before he looked at the pet again. “ I love this weather. I missed it when I was gone. “ He added. “ What’s their name?”

It was pretty infrequent that Ale was requested at a nice dinner. Infrequent that he had to dress up and act like a normal human being. And a part of him was flattered, even excited to be paid for something other than bedroom activities that left him feeling disgusting and used. Except then there were the hands under the table, making him uncomfortable and nervous when he already wasn’t in the best mindset to be out and about trying to act ‘normal’. So when he needed a second to gather himself, the coat closet seemed like the best idea. Until he was faced with a shirtless man, and for a second he wondered if he’d been set up in some way. “Um, wha-?” He stood, startled for a moment, and then nodded and closed the door behind him. “What, um, what color shirt were you wearing?” He asked, assuming that’s what Vaughn needed a hand with.

“ I know. It’s not my finest hour or a very common thing to have happen for most. I’d be ashamed, but I think I ran out of shame a long time ago” Vaughn replied shaking his head, as humor tinged his voice. He knew he had acted impulsive and foolish, but there was no way to ever go back to before this moment, so the acting CEO had to find some sort of way out of it to the best of his abilities. “ It was black, which only makes the situations worse. You’d think there was better lighting in here. Like I get it’s a closet, but come on” Vaughn mused with a laugh. “ Thanks by the way”

“If you wanna get accused of stealing be my guest.” She shrugged. To be honest, she would have done the same thing if she was in his shoes. Mari thought to run out to her car and see if she had some kind of shirt. Anything in Sean’s size for him to wear. She knew she had spare clothes, but they were vastly different clothing sizes. She shot Sean a quick text if he had any dress shirts in his car. Much to her shock Sean replied with yes. “Can you like sneak to the restroom or something? Just for like five minutes I might have a shirt for you." 

“ It’s not the worst thing I’ve been accused of, but I admit it isn’t much fun either” Vaughn admitted as he glance at Mari. He bit the inside of his cheek as he thought about what he could possibly do in this situation. He was honestly trapped and there was no way he was going to come out of this looking well. However, Vaughn’s expression shifted as soon as she had an answer for him. “ .Yeah, I think I can. “ He replied with surprise in his voice. “ You are a life saver. “ He smiled before checking outside the room to see if the coast was clear or not.

One of Daphne’s favorite hobbies was reading. It had been that way ever since she was a small child. Which is why she now had multiple bookcases crowding the shelves in her small apartment. As she stood in the bookstore flipping through a book, she turned to the person next to her. “So theoretically, how many books is too many books for one person to own?” she asked, a slight blush in her face now. “I think I may have a small problem, but I can’t seem to help it.” And while she knew that digital books were just as valid as reading a physical copy, she preferred the latter. She loved the smell of books and the feeling of real pages between her hands.

Vaughn wasn’t particularly big on reading when he was younger. He had no interest in learning anything and spent most of his time trying to have fun. However, as he got older and spent so much time by himself, the temporary CEO began to love books. It was the easiest way for him to stay busy and out of trouble as he traveled the world. Now that he was back home, it was nice to be able to appreciate things he didn’t see before. As he reached to grab something from the top shelf, he was probed with an interesting question. “ Depends really. Are they all the same subject? Are they the same author? I feel like there might not be such a thing, but also who really benefits from 15 books on hiking?” He replied with a small smile. “ What do you have?”

Vaping was a terrible habit. She had to quit but for now she was stuck with it. Better than actual cigarettes… She’d excused herself for a smoke break in the chilled night air. It was really a very long breather from dealing with a rather dull conversation. Unfortunately she had to go back so her coat had to put it away. “Oh crap!” She didn’t realize anyone had been in there. Vaughn nearly scared her half to death. “Well at least it’s your shirt that’s missing.” She didn’t know whether to keep the door open or closed. It looked bad for both of them either way. 

Vaughn had a tendency to take refuge in audacity, He was rarely ever embarrassed, usually because the end result was often caused by his own actions. Even now, being found in a public place missing his shirt, Vaughn was more confused how to leave without being banned from the establishment, versus being fully embarrassed by being caught. “ Yeah, crap indeed” Vaughn replied with a half smile, as he stood in front of the surprise visitor. “ Honestly though. That would be harder to justify. “ He added shaking his head. “  I figure I can take someone's jacket in here and leave sans shirt. “

  Jamie had blew off a meeting thankfully his brother could cover it. He had made up an excuse, he did not feel like dealing with annoying speech and he knew he would not be able to focus at all. Jamie had decided to get a few chores done and just take care of himself and decided to grab some coffee. Jamie was a bit distracted and he bumped or someone bumped into him. “It’s okay,” he replied giving the other a smile. “Good thing neither of us had hot coffee in our hands,” he added smiling. “Yup, it’s been awhile Vaugh,” he answered. 

Vaughn had left so many connections in his wake when he ran off and left the city. In that time it had all soured and he was still doing damage control despite the fact he returned when he was needed most. It was still hard for Vaughn to know who was a friend and who wasn’t and he was a bit relieved that he ran into someone who he hadn’t burned any bridges with, by pure  virtue of just never really getting to know one another before. “ That would have sucked, I would have willingly accepted being sued though” Vaughn joked before nodding his head. “ Yeah, honestly I’ve been gone for a really long time. How are things?’

Vaughn in many ways had grown out of a lot of his bad behaviors. Spending ten years seeing the world and living on his own had matured the young man greatly. However, some old habits died hard, which was why he had found himself with a woman he met tonight in the coat closet at a restaurant. It was fairly juvenile but, the acting CEO was in need of a break. They parted ways in order to save face, but Vaughn found himself in a predicament when he couldn’t find his shirt. “ Oh shit” Vaughn replied as her searched before the door popped open to find himself standing there still missing his shirt in front of a surprised face.  This- This is exactly how it looks. “ Vaughn admitted. “ Can you give me a hand here?”

There were donuts in the break room. Some rather decent ones too.. she’d grabbed one for herself and made her way over to Vaughn’s office to tell him. Only to nearly run into while he looked stressed presumably about the woes of Office Life. “A donut for your troubles? There’s two whole boxes in the break room. Someone loves us today.”

Ever since Vaughn had moved back to the city, he felt like he couldn’t connect with anyone at the office. It was nice that Hana was there though, because A) he often needed her help due to her skillset and B) she was proving to be a great friend. He’s expression born of stress instantly dropped at seeing her with the donut and a smile appeared on his face. “I might need a whole box to get through that disaster on my desk. I wonder who dropped them off? Wanna head back there with me, while I ask your advice on something?”

“It’s a bit like your significant other playing your ‘song’ to break up with you in junior high,” she commented. Aysel wouldn’t put it past anyone to attempt to ruin a holiday for someone else. Quite a few people really were that damn narcissistic. “It’s juvenile shit, honestly. They look way older than junior high age.”

“That one I have never experienced, but wow that is definitely a dick move. Not just because it’s incredibly childish, but it seems like a perfectly shitty way to ruin a song for someone “ Vaughn replied, shaking his head. He was not known for being very romantic or reliable in a  relationship, but there were still thing’s he wouldn’t do. “ People are confusing. They could have three kids and a mortgage and still act like they’re children.

Vaughn tried his hardest to not have to spend time in the office. He had fallen into this role out of pure luck and desperation. As much as he had tried to run away from his responsibilities growing up. He still had somehow wound up exactly where he had started. If that wasn’t a horrible joke in his life, Vaughn didn’t know how it could have been worse. So when he had found himself surrounded by a stack of papers, Vaughn felt in over his head. “ Why they hell isn’t this all digital? Why did my father insist on hard copies like this?” Vaughn replied as he sat on his desk before getting up to grab some coffee. He needed a distraction before opening the door and nearly bumping into Hana. “ Oh shit. Sorry. I was stuck in my head just now”

“I refuse to believe that there is such a thing as ‘too many books’.” Alyria chuckled, adding another one to the pile she intended to buy. Despite The Story Keeper being such a small store, it always had a whole shelf of books in Russian, which Alyria loved. She’d been reading and speaking English for years, however, reading in Russian always felt easier, and even now, Aly could plough through a book in Russian in half the time of one in English. “You think they’d let me return them once I’ve finished for store credit?” Well, the ones she didn’t love so much that she had to kept, of course. 

Vaughn was not particularly known as being the brainy type. It seemed as though for most of his life he tried to avoid any sort of scholastic endeavors, instead spending most of his time messing around and getting into trouble. However as the years went by and Vaughn found the last ten years of his life a bit lonely, the former fighter had started to read more. It helped him learn life skills while also kept him out of the  trouble he had thought. It wasn’t a prefect system, but it was the thought that counted. It was why he was walking down the aisles looking for a few specific titles. If only he had a book to help him run the company that had been dropped into his lap. “I think the only issue might be space. “ Vaughn muse as he pulled another book out of a shelf to study.  “ I think they might have a rule against that, but hey it’s worth a shot”

It wasn't very often something like happened. Omar was having a drink with friends when he overheard someone start talking loudly about how climate change was a total joke and it was just sensationalised news.  He stood and listened as the person continued to make a fool of themselves. Omar leant in the the person beside him and smiled. “ Do you think I should tell them I am a meteorologist and everything they have been told is horse crap…” He stopped and then smiled. “  Nah I think I’ll let them think they know what they are talking about.” He said as he watched them with wide eyes as they tried to command the room with their uneducated views. Omar turned to the person next to them and smiled “I’ll buy you a drink if you promise not tell them I know more about climate change then they do.” He chuckled and put his finger to his lips. 

Vaughn didn’t have many people in his life that he could call friends but, now that some of the affairs were dealt with after his fathers passing left him with more free time, he tried to get out there more again and socialize. Even if there was a risk where the people he had wronged in the past would be waiting for him. It was worth it to avoid the boredom of sitting at home. He finished off his glass before stopping when  a question was posed in his direction.  “ Let him dig his own grave in that case. they’re going to say something completely inaccurate that who they’re around is gonna laugh. They would deserve the mockery. “ He noted before the former fighter nodded his head. “ I wasn’t going to but who am I to turn down a drink” He laughed.
