Two Papayases. Speculation on the Forgotten Man.

I thought that Papyrus eggman was dead once Chapter 3-4 have released. The parallels however, remain. I made this as a compilation of everything that could connect Papyrus to the Forgotten Man, as well as presenting the idea that could megumily solve the contradictions which carry with this theory. Examples: Undertale official skirt. Papyrus stands behind a tree that looks quite similar our DR eggman's tree. Undertale Genocide check dialogue. Papyrus was labelled as Forgettable. Deltarune schedule. In Chapter 2 if you mention See Brother to sans without him ever consulting you about him having a brother, he gets creeped out. He also says that he'll "ask what his schedule is." In Chapter 3's egg room, the forgotten man tells you what his schedule is. Papyrus' favourite food. Flowey tells us in the alarm clock dialogue that it is that "Oatmeal with Dinosaur eggs". This is also peculiar. The mentioning of Dinosaur did happen more than once, but I like to take note of this as well. Deltarune Chapter 5 Pink. The dating hud returns, but without the egg.

Other notes: Collecting all 5 eggs will result in 6 eggs total if we combine it with Temmie's hard boiled egg (which happens in Chapter 4). This ties back to number 6 gaster bullshit, since the number 6 represets the "finale" for things. Gerson made 6 chapters before the sea of ink washes everything away. Tenna switches to the 66th channel before shutting off. Gaster's stats are 6 yada yada you know the deal. Idea: I'm going to guess that the Forgotten Man IS and IS NOT Papyrus. But how can this be? Well, this is my explanation for why Papyrus doesn't bleed in Undertale but Sans does. Deltarune Papyrus and Undertale Papyrus are two different people from different worlds. Problems: Too many questions would arise like why Papyrus and why is Sans not like that then, questions which I don't have the answer for. Papyrus being a therapist is kinda weird, as hell, unless DR Papyrus is fully mature Papyrus and Undertale Paps was young and had a different uprising. Perhaps this was all for nothing. Perhaps the eggs are only used as error handlers, because Gaster likes to keep the eggs as a memento for a time when he could live with the Skelebros. Either way, the Eggman may not even be related to the skelebros, but I would like to think that with Noelle present in Ch6 we'll be finally be able to solve this conundrum that we've been hunting for almost the past decade or so.

Noelle fountain is nice and all but... (Ch6 Speculation)

I would not be surprised if someone else were to open a Fountain in the Hospital or Mansion. Let's be real here, as of right now, Noelle IS the most likely person to make a fountain as she may grow too desperate to come face to face with her father's death.

However, I think that Susie + Ralsei would be able to calmly explain it to Noelle why making a Dark Fountain will not be able to heal her dad.

Hell, maybe the Fountain's creator changes depending on what route you did. Like if you already have CH5 Aborted Noelle, then she may not even listen to Susiw before making a Fountain herself, wishing for another method to break free from Hometown.

Or we have my favourite candidate, Carol. The reason why I want Carol to make a fountain is because I want to know about her history WITH the Dark Fountains and how/why she is working against us. Plus, it would give us a look into her mindset when traversing through the fountain Psychonauts style. Only problem with this would be that it may parallel Asgore too much from the last chapter, but I don't really care. She has her own theory board and she was constantly investigating the Shelter. Asgore didn't really know how much information Carol has on the Dark Fountains as evidenced by Ch5's end where he tells the gang that they'll fess up to the Mayor. WE don't know how much she knows, so her making a Fountain may shed light on this.

Last not but least, Knight. If Noelle won't do it then I think The Knight will, as evidenced from the unused Prophecy panel "Cold water falls from the sky." If it's out of obligation or desire is to be debated, but it won't really matter. I don't want this, because we already had enough fountains made by the Knight.

If Rudy is the Knight then this time I'll really do it.

Deltarune FRIEND might be an allegory for the UT/DR fandom (thx to new patch dial.)

Horde: Checked Dumbasses (Absolutely correct): Checked Relentlessly chasing something until you grew bored of it: Checked RNG value: The act of summoning a "demon" was a gamble in of itself.

Making a deal with the Devil will always result in you getting screwed over. Even that one guy who outsmarted the Devil did it at the cost of his happiness, which is a hell in of itself. This symboloizes that each Soul Kris summoned might be a Pacifist Rooter or another Chara, the limitbreaking maximizer. They can never know which. ------

So the only way to successfully "contain" such a demon is to use the Pacifisters as collateral and never allow either side to choose anything substantial. Kris either knows they are playing with fire, or they might be the biggest dumbass in existence, and I feel like both can be true at once. Examples for: A. Kris most likely doesn't take us out in Dark Worlds because of FRIEND. Altough for a while this strat was working flawlessly. Dark Worlds don't really give you much freedom in choice, so who cares if you can't take your lifeline out? B. Real World? Whip it out. 💀 Plain and simple. Examples against: A. Eggs and Shadowcrystals. Combining lost dreams will most likely result in a Pure Dream, something akin to Last Dream, which is the culmination of Determination, which is the power of changing fate you know you know. Even within the Dark Worlds we can still choose. And these choices do culminate for the Darkners living within said Dark World. Whatever culmination this will end up in remains to be seen. B. Weird Route.

Deltarune Four Heroes Speculation

Very short, but I want to put it out there. I think Toby always wanted to do Four Party members since Chapter 2, but it was too difficult to code. I believe that by Chapter 6 we will fight the Knight with four Party Members, as a parallel to Earthbound. In that game Pú joined as a fourth member, but then left the Party in order to get stronger.

Pú also works mechanically similarly to Noelle in broad strokes. Different food items bring greater satisfaction to Noelle specifically, like the Gigasalad, and she's the only one who uses Rings as weapons.

I only say in broad strokes, because this is kinda true for the rest of the gang but we don't talk about that. 🥀 And the reason why Noelle was left out is different from Pú's, but in the end the result will remain the same. (Plus Noelle is a hodgepodge of multiple Mother characters mashed into one. Like Pippi, Ana, and Paula.)

Also egg part speculation, FRIEND-lings will probably hunt us down even with the Soul inside Kris, due to the amount of motherfucking protein we are carrying with us. This will result in us being able to either slay-, or pacify them. They ARE dumbasses after all. Relentless dumbasses. Like us. 💙

PS: We pacify them by using the Pure Crystal as an Aja Stone, multiplying our light to incinerate the entire horde into smithereens. 💖🔦💎🙀 -> 💀

When to abort the Weird Route?

Spookydude is a funny man. The theory of the Twisted Sword's purpose still remains unseen, however there is a new discussion going on about the "timing" on when you must abandon Side_B. Twisted Sword gained relevance, because chud blackpilled Noelle decided to fuck shadowcrystals and just went out of bounds. This is the sole reason why I made this. So here it is, my penultimate speculation that tries to identify the exact moment you should stop by examining the value of import you can get. Chapter 5: Not possible. Reason: The Thornring has taken root within Noelle's flesh and Soul, as seen by the now scrapped ominous worse scene. The Thorn blossoms into a Rose before it wilts. It has found soil to grow and die on. Kind of like how Noelle's mentality will result in her annihilation yadayada you know the deal. TLDR: Red pixel = tear her soul out in order to get the ring. Chapter 4 + Berdly Snowgrave in Chapter 2: Not Possible. Reason: After snowgrave the Thorn stays on Noelle. Kris the takes the Thorn off of Noelle and hides it from us until Noelle literally spells it out for us during the bedroom scene. TLDR: Kris is a fucking thief.

That leaves us at one chance, the IDEAL chance. Chapter 2, before freezing Berdly: Absolutely benefitial. Reason number 1: Berdly can actually be full pacifist rooted even if you froze all darkners during the start of Side B. I tested this, it's confirmed. Spare every darkner you can (+ I got Starwalker, Hackerman, and Mini car) Reason number 2: Eggs. Aborting Berdly does NOT lock you out of getting the Chapter 2 egg. You can turn back and do it just like you would during a pacifist route. You CAN have ONE save file where you have All eggs, All Crystals, AND the ThornRing. I like this experiment, because Gaster only considers the eggs an issue. This save is basically me asking if I can have my pie and eat it. Chapter 6 will show us the results. (Or we get more vagueposts 💀) My conclusion? Once Chapter 6 starts and we don't get Castletown denied for the entire chapter, then we craft the Twisted Sword, and realize that it does jack shit. The theme of if we kill a minority of Darkners we can save the world still sounds absolutely fucking stupid. Aqua knife is better. 💔

What the fuck is a Trance? (A miserable attempt at explaining it)

For the longest time I considered the idea of the Twisted Sword to be an obsolete discussion. I believed that the Weird Route will eventually reach the point where we combine the ThornRing and the Pure Crystal to create a weapon powerful enough to break the narrative. Yeah that didn't happen, so I'm here to speculate it's purpose again. ThornRing has Trance. Trance has 0 description on what it does. In the code it halves the TP cost for Noelle's spells, making the impossible possible. It also halves Noelle's HP. The ring was also used as a method for us to help shatter Noelle's "role" in Deltarune and bring out her worst aspects in the process. We kept feeding the wolf until it devoured us. So, as of right now, I believe Trance may prefer to derealization. The reason for that is simple. Dark Worlds have parallels to dreams. Queen tells you that Noelle is "already awake enough" when we do Snowgrave. The constant pain Trance gives you is the equivalent of pinching your cheek in a dream to see if it is real or not. We pushed this concept to the Light World and that's how Chapter 5 happened. She "awoke" from her own reality. So. What the does the Twisted Sword do then? If we follow the simple plus minus logic, then trance down has to do the opposite of what the Thorn does. The pure crystal is a refined amalgam of multiple lost dreams combined. BUT, refined or not I don't think it will be able to "break free" from the prophecy. Therefore we "synthesize" this pure dream with plant Jamais Vu, twisting it into a literal Nightmare.

My "guess" here is that the sword *reinforces* the role of its wielder. However, I am not satisfied with this answer, as it leads to nowhere. Perhaps it will give us more control over Kris as it reinforces them to be nothing more than a cage that we control. Or maybe it will get additional coding where we will able to fatally wound darkners, henceforth it has the SlayDark within its code. Not only do we fight Titans (manifestation of the fear of the dark) with literal Nightmares, but we also destroy ANYTHING that is related to dark.

Regardless I believe there is a better explanation out there somewhere and I hope someone will comment something good or make a cool ass video about it. (I watched Spookydude, but I think there is a bigger theme around Trance that I'm not able to understand yet.)

PS: When I mean Synthesize two objects I mean that we jump into Hegelian bullshit with the thesis and antithesis creating the synthesis. A dream and a nightmare molded into a strange blade. Clopen in its most potent form.

How to initiate Dusttale Hard Mode (Deltarune Chapter 5 spoilers)

You stand in a hallway. Same as ever. He was there. Same as ever.

Yet he was looking out the window.

*did you have fun?

You stand still. A statue unmoving.

*i didn't.

*and now we can't even go back anymore, either.

A faint glow can be seen from his eye socket.

*but hey, i take the good with the bad.

*everything is all doom and gloom now, but at least this is the last time.

He turns to you fully, smiling as always.

*so any last words before i wipe the floor with you?

Silence greets him. As... always?

He sighs.

*thought so-

*Thank you.

Nothing changed. He was still there. Smiling.

But he was silent.

*...

You looked into your pockets.

You found something you always... had?

You toss the bread in front of him.

*She and I had a wonderful time at the beach.

He stood still. It felt like an eternity had passed.

Then, he started shaking.

He was not smiling anymore.

The only thing you could read on his face,

was rage.

My take on how Deltarune would tie back into Dusttale, now that I have seen the Mother 1 Mancountry connection.

Also the dialogue makes more sense if you read Halo's Dusttale doc (on soundcloud), since the beginning plot section was just ripping that off. (With the human not being able to reset and all)

I think as the fight would drag on he would become angrier while he connects all the dots together. Resulting in him completely snapping by the end, his self-hatred completely vindicated.

He dies by completely melting into a puddle while dragging out an endless, relentless attack turn.

I made this as kind of like a final "fuck you" to sans from Halo's Dusttale. Even when he "won", we were still able to get a rise out of him.

Deltarune Future Chapter Speculation

So. Insert Chapter 7 Side B ey?

This post exists mostly for me to spitball about the future.

I've seen some speculation thrown around that we either did a wrongwarp glitch and plunged into the depths, which is something we were only supposed to get access to in Chapter 6, skipping it entirely,

OR, we spammed proceed because we and Kris had seperate HP bars, resulting in Kris drowning and the Soul surviving, seperating us from our cage.

Second one is kinda wishy washy, because if Kris drowned, then I think Noelle should've as well, but who knows. She's "strong" now + she was already athletic before we did any thornring tomfoolery with her, while Kris is literally dead without us fueling them. And I have 0 clue what the Chapter 5 WR abort by drowning means.

She laments that she can't be anything else, but herself. Trapped by her own personality and biases. I think 5 was about her telling us that we bruteforced her out of what Noelle, the stereotype, was. Or answer B. To be more accurate she's lamenting the idea that she can't be anything outside of her role of "Noelle", and believes that since Kris stopped being "Kris", then something greater must await her out of bounds if she just pushes things with Not Kris. This second one would tie neatly back into Andrew's thesis of "being outside the game's logic is part of the game's logic", since Noelle only believes that she escaped Plato's cave, only to find out that her "not being Noelle" shtick is actually intended to happen. She's the angel. She's this world's Flowey and Chara. (Don't quote me on that tho.)

Speculation starts here.

The reason we did something "crazy" with Noelle is to become "free". To be truly free from the narrative you have to kill its author.

But how do you kill the world's creator? The one who made the unchangable prophecy? Or more specifically, how do you kill Gaster?

You can't kill a man who has over sixty thousand HP and six thousand ATK + DEF without perparation. But here's the thing. If we assume that he is part of the DEPTHS, the eternal dark sea from below, then we may have a chance to exploit a certain weakness of his. To "perserve" him in stagnation.

Hell's roar bubbles from the Depths. Dark Worlds are liquid, which then solidify into ice, or in our case, glass.

I'm going to bring Carl Jung into this, because I hate him, but he also had this very interesting idea that there is an inbetween state where an idea within your mind is simply a bridge between your unconscious and reality, that when you manifest an idea it crosses that bridge, it becomes real, it "solidifies". That's how I think the Prophecy was made.

Gaster's greatest strength for all of Deltarune and Undertale, was that he was always within this inbetween state of existing and not. He is the liquid, darkness undefined, and he uses that to his advantage.

He is the "I made the Device with which you can play Deltarune, but I'm also incredibly irrelevant to overarching plot of it." He was Undertale's "Last Great Secret". A bait, with which he could safely pull us into his experiment without him ever compromising any information that could potentally truly defy his place. Like a reverse Undertale player type shit.

So what if we were able observe schrodinger's cat? What if, we freeze hell over? The endless sea becomes ice. We force Gaster to become defined, solid. Then we can fatally wound him. I think that is what Side B's culmination will be. Creating the perfect weapon to kill God.

The only small issue(s) I have, is that I still don't believe Gaster "created" Deltarune, but instead found Toby's remnants of Deltarune after shafting himself in Undertale and modified it to create his new future. Or something like that.

Example B: Playstation achievements. We get the RING achievement when we equip the ThornRing. Also they are titled PAIN 1-A CONSUMER 2-A etc. Which means he specifically categorized SIDE A and SIDE B seperately, most likely suggesting that he knows about it. Deltarune's ARG, which was about the Weird Route, also had INTERIM RESULT, which is also Gaster bullshit. So really, I don't know with this one. I still believe in Noelle killing Dess and Freezing the Depths, but at the same time, Gaster is most likely aware of this yet does nothing to stop it. Suggesting that A, he is powerful enough to not care about us destroying Deltarune, or B, that he believes that he is in control of the situation while the high Deer will pull a hollow technique Nuh Uh on his ass. I wanna hear your own ideas on what Chapter 7 Side B could be like.

It's fun to speculate.

Top of the top of angst (DR CH5 Spoilers)

Deltarune Spoilers for Chapter 5 + talk about lore implications impacting a certain fan AU

This is a very messy post. Possibly the most messiest type I'll ever write, but I must put it out there. What Side A and Side B have shown us, is that sans both is and isn't from Deltarune. He is the measuring stick with which we can determine that our mere insertion into DR has already changed everything. Side A has four figures drawn. Undertale had 3, and I'm still personally on the side that OUR sans came from a pre-gaster pre-Creating a New Future With You Deltarune, where the Roaring (aka metanarratively Toby's failed ambition) consumed it. But that's another idea for another time. On the other hand, this can make Dusttale one of the most tragic sagas to ever exist in all of Undertale Deltarune fan content. (IF Chapter 7's Side B will end in the Depths, AKA Hell, freezing over, resulting in the world's annihilation.) Consider this from Dust sans' perspective. We have eradicated his homeworld, then chased after him to the other world he fled to where we killed him endlessly. Rinse and repeat until time broke and he remembered his slaughter. This is the "Hard Mode" Dusttale, where you either taunt him by revealing that you were responsible for the "old times" as well, or he pieces it together himself. I think THAT would genuinely scare him shitless. Also incredibly furious as well, since it was partially his fault that he wasn't as observant as when we first met him. It's one thing to be a time traveller. It's another thing to travel dimensional spaces as well. Space and time. Neither were ever safe from you, and by extention, neither was he. PS: I've checked Noelle's creepy ass sprite she does within the water. Ngl gng, she reminds me of ICE-E. Perhaps there is more to the fun value of sans drawing Nightmare on the crossword than we first considered.

PS2: Small update. Just saw the Mother 1 breadcrumbs glitch connection. And while It's just purely my own headcannon that if you break Undertale down to its building blocks then you will see Earthbound at the bedrock, just like how breaking down Deltarune you will see Mother 1, I think you can still tie this into dust sans' self hatred that he accidentally gave us the key to destroying his world with that bread. That's how you initiate Dusttale Hard Mode. You toss that loaf of bread back to him.

Nifty observation

So you know how people keep comparing Malice and Mayhem to NEO Metal?

I'm pretty sure there is another major inspiration behind how the two "operate".

Once Malice gets busted up enough, Mayhem eats her (in gruesome detail btw), which results in them turning into one.

Machines destryoing each other in order to become a singular entity.

That's just Ennard. They literally do the exact same shit.

Especially the jumbles of wires gave me that tickle at the back of my brain.

Also, this part specifically reminded me of the Sister Location TLT song. Melt down the metal and forge something new from its remains.

All in all, Malice and Mayhem may be even bigger freaks than we could have imagined.

Watched Gameoververse and my main takeaways from it is that the various genres of video game characters and the world is giving them individual tortures in the wake of their worlds being destroyed.

Kit seems to be from a cat version of Mega Man. Her entire goal in life was to protect others, to the point she refused to take any of her companions to the final battle besides Kaboodle and I'm pretty sure Kaboodle only got to come because he's her armor and refused to be removed from her back.

Once the village is destroyed she jumps instantly into this Dusk guy's arms because all she knows is to be someone's guardian. Like she has done zero personal recon on Dusk and trusts his word without question because he was there first- Warrick seems like a shitty boss, but if his claims are founded then Dusk may be actively having Kit sustain the system.

Kaboodle seems to be the support of Kit, the one who holds all her gear and maybe tool tips, and he's clearly trying to cut Kit off from hurting herself more. I read the discomfort towards Gobbles as Kaboodle being both hesitant to care for someone new after losing his entire world AND like he's worried Kit will be hurt for caring about someone new so he's trying to convince her to be more logical.

Gobbles, meanwhile, is from a children's educational game. He's built from the toes up with curiosity, love, and supportive vibes. He's a cinnamon roll and he's lost everything but this one nice lady who gives him juice boxes and her stressed out asshole of a friend.

Kit is like "my life has no purpose and I am nothing if I can't be useful. It's always my fault but it's not anyone's else's so that's okay." and Kaboodle is like "just me and kit against this cold unfeeling universe, let's do it" and Gobbles is "I made sure to drink the appropriate amount of water today and stretch before I started running. You guys are hardcore."

I'm also genuinely so curious about Malice's whole deal. Why is she a Kit clone? Why is she evil Kit clone?? What kind of dynamic did they have before the planet blows up? What was her evil plan?

This is a Megamen-era clone we're talking about here, she could be everything from the shadows inside Kit's heart to her artificially created robot twin.

I figured Malice and Mayhem were supposed to reflect Bass and Treble specifically, since he had a similar “fuse with non-humanoid partner for a power boost” gimmick to mirror Megaman and Rush. Might have a bit of Vile from Megaman X mixed in too, since Malice and Mayhem’s fusion is about the size of Vile’s mech suit.
