real madrid fans watching spain-russia and realizing how close they came to having de gea as keeper:
Stella needs your help.
So I have always prided myself of being able to succeed or come out of shitty situations just by putting my head down, work hard and just take all the bs that hits my way (you know the mexican way of doing things).
But for the last 8 months, I’ve been unemployed in a different, more expensive, far from family city trying to fulfill my dream of doing a Master that will help me (a General Practicioner) make healthcare more accessible to people who live even less fortunate lives than I do.
Through this same process, I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and therapy/medicine has been extremely expensive especially since my insurance doesn’t cover any of it.
Having been unemployed for the last 8 months has drained my funds (that and buying pills twice a month ), made me coachsurf for a while and even had me unable to eat for several days. Due to all of this I’m no longer able to apply for a grant to continue studying.
This is where I ask you if you could help me in these hard times, I really want to continue to be able to study my masters since helping people in worse conditions than mine is one of my biggest passions and the reason why I studied medicine in the first place.

Please support if you can, I’ve met Stella and discussed all this face to face and she’s one of the most sincere, dedicated people I know. All of her past/present/future patients are lucky to have her!
Fun fact: According to Greek legend there was a famous prostitute who managed to avoid a death sentence by showing the judges her boobs and arguing that it would be a crime against the Gods to destroy something so beautiful.
Before you ask, yes there are paintings of this. And yes, they’re amazing.
I love history.
Role models tho.
The gay one
No, but this is one of my absolute favorite bits of history!
The courtesan named was named Phryne and she was indeed a renowned beauty, and was indeed was put on trial for a capital crime. And yes, the sum of her defense consisted of her stripping in court (helped by her lover/defendant) and asking the jury (all males) if they were prepared to destroy this.
But this is actually a very interesting case of Values Dissonance - the capital crime she was accused of was blasphemy. In Ancient Greek society, exceptional beauty was a sign of favor from the gods, and they took the idea that beauty indicated goodness with great seriousness. They even called their nobles Kaloi k'Agathoi, “the Beautiful and the Good.”
So by showing off her great physical beauty, Phryne was being very clever indeed, her argument essentially being “How could I possibly commit blasphemy if the gods have given me this body?“
God, I adore history.
”If these tits are legit, you must acquit.”
i need feminism because when jesus does a magic trick it’s a goddamn miracle but when a woman does a magic trick she gets burned at the stake

Flat irons and relaxers were never used on set. Ahead of the movie’s premiere. In the Cut talked to the head of Black Panther’s hair department, Camille Friend.
What was the overall creative direction for the hair in Black Panther? There were three parts. For the “traditional” look, we used inspiration from the Zulu tribe, the Maasai tribe, and the Hima tribe. Then we looked at the modern styles in the natural-hair movement. Finally we looked at the Afropunk movement, which has a lot of natural and creative styling. Also, there are five tribes in the story, and we had to create different looks for each tribe.
What was it like working on a movie where everyone was styled in natural hair? There’s no press and comb in this movie. No relaxers, no nothing! That was one of the things that I really was firm about. I requested that people come with their natural hair. People were like, “Are you sure?” and I was like, “Yes, I am sure! We have a qualified staff of hair people who are phenomenal and who are well-versed in natural hair.”al hair.”
How did it feel being a part of this movie? I don’t think black hair has ever been seen in a movie like this. It was an honor to do it and to have an open form to design and take hairstyling to the next level. That’s what we accomplished; we had a great crew and we worked really hard.
What do you want people to take away after seeing this movie? That black hair is versatile and it’s beautiful. With the right products, anything can be re-created.
Sometimes it blows my mind that there are people that don’t wear glasses/contacts. Like they can literally see with no aid. Like they wake up and just be out here seeing. What a wild concept.
And people say stuff like ‘lol don’t you hate it when you look up in the middle of the night and see a spider on your ceiling’ like bitch (!!) i could have Nicholas II last czar of Russia hangin from my ceiling fan and i would be none the wiser
