malhotrcs:
IT WAS THE beginning of a long evening, and Riya was already bored with her present company. It was of course a Monday which meant that it was the weekly âcatchupâ she played with her mother. Sometimes the young heiress didnât understand why she kept up the farce, however a small part of her actually enjoyed having âmummy-daughterâ time. Even if most of the time was spent listening to her bitch about her friends, lecture Riya on her lack of ambition and insult her ex-husband every chance she got. Currently the ex-Malhotra matriarch was complaining about the weather in some isolated country as though it was to blame for her complexion looking less than pristine, and Riya was ready to shoot herself in the head, or better yet, the maĂźtreâd for some entertainment. She took another sip of her wine, and looked around for something, someone to come and save her. Unfortunately no one looked ripe for the taking⊠until she spotted a certain actor and his facade of a girlfriend. Signalling the waiter over, the young woman had a scotch sent ordered for him, and a strawberry daiquiri ordered for her, not that Riya particularly cared whether Samaira would enjoy the drink or not. Riya just wanted to be entertained. Ignoring her mother for the moment, she advised the waiter to just mention that he should savour the drink. As the waiter walked away, her mother looked at her curiously, and wondered what she was doing now. âOh nothing maa, just making sure that someone learns how to enjoy his evening with someone he doesnât particularly like.â
THEY WERE DISPLAYING perfectly practiced fake smiles while cribbing at each other quietly when the waiter arrived. before she could send him back as they had not ordered other drinksâ really, the wine sufficed in her eyes, the waiter tilted slightly towards dhruv, addressing him. he was told that these were sent over by riya malhotra over there, and that he should savour his drink. itâs not the first time a drink has been sent his way, it happened more often than he cared to keep count of. but from what he had seen and heard of riya, there was more to this gesture than what met the eye. nevertheless, dhruv instructed the waiter to put the drinks on the table. he never could resist a good glass of scotch, and it would serve to take away the repugnant taste of the awful wine that his lovely faux girlfriend had chosen for the evening. dhruv looked in riyaâs direction, nodding in gratitude. that was probably the best way to tread currently. samaira gave the other woman a smile of her own, not that he noticed. he saw that riya was sat with what seemed like an older womanâ at least judging from what little he could see of her. perhaps it would be easier to concentrate if he had something else in his system other than disgusting wine, and a decent meal. they werenât enough to satiate him. he took a large swig of the scotch. still, it wasnât enough. samairaâs chatter didnât help either, although he had tuned out a short time ago. there was something else on his mind instead. he did well to disguise it, however.Â
