I have entirely too many feelings for Solas. I went into DA: Inquisition intent on being with the stoic warden, Blackwall... or the wildcard, sweet and scatterbrained Sera. To my surprise, I chose neither. While I still have feelings for both-- and made separate characters to be with them-- I never expected having my heart skipping beats because of this bald elf. His romance is still the best in my honest opinion.

CONFESSION: 

Please don’t put this under the cut because it needs to be seen. I’m a 33 yr old physical therapist. For ten hours a day five days a week and four hours on Saturday; I work with patients fighting to get their lives back. When not working, I like to relax and escape by playing videogames. As someone who also happens to be gay, I enjoy Bioware games as does my husband since he is therapist as well. Its not only refreshing we can play the hero…its relaxing for us. But that said; we find this fandom to be toxic on both sides. While we appreciate the people demanding more representation, I wish some people would accept the fact that some of us just want to enjoy the game in peace. My concern is for my patients. I have a transwoman who I am helping to learn to walk again after she suffered a stroke. I have several veteran patients that are recovering from brain injuries they sustained while serving their country although according to the Tumblr crowd I should let them suffer because they are straight. I’m also working with a girl to get her strength back after nearly dying from anorexia. Those are some of the real people who matter to me. So when all is said and done, I don’t care if people consider Bull and Dorian to be “problematic”.  And time is too short for me to analyze everything about the game. We play games to have fun and escape. I’m sorry if that makes us apathetic but when you spend over 50 hours a week dedicated to helping real people, complaining about a game is not pertinent. Real people matter to me and it DOES NOT matter if they are gay, trans, straight, etc. People are people.
