Avril had met the brunette before her in a way she had truly wished she never had had to. While, she was grateful that she had had the privilege, there was always going to be apart of her that wished Liam had never went. While she respected his bravery, the lost of her brother would never be a hole truly filled, and with so many of those already, she couldn’t help but feel — empty. Although, as the pairing embraced, the warmth of the friend before her was truly comforting. Strange, sure, but nonetheless comforting. It had been way too long. Avril pressed soft rosy lips into a flat lined, all the while willing them into a smile. One tough cookie — she had heard that all her life, in fact, after a while, instead of feeling like a compliment, it started feeling more like an excuse. Why is this happening to me? You’re a tough cookie, you’ll be fine. Why are you doing this? You’ve got this, you’re tough. Dodge the bullet. A soft chuckle escaped her lips as the brunette explained that she wanted her to squeeze the life out of her heart. Avril’s head tilted slightly to the side, with a lazy shrug of her shoulder. “Sorry, Val, I don’t like to lose, so I’d be the worst one to have. You know, too busy trying to keep you alive, instead.” She explained, with a wink. “When does bootcamp start up again?” Avril wondered, as she moved passed the brunette, “Might need to get a session in, babe. Come, first, we’re going to eat, are you hungry?”
Valentina’s uncle always told her that it took the bravest and the strongest to do what he did. She never realize how true that sentence was until she herself went on her first tour. Yeah sure, training was fun, you got to fool around some days, but when it comes down to being shipped off, to actually fight off on enemy it was no joke. And teamwork was a must. People like Liam and her Uncle were definitely one of America’s greatest. A soft sigh leaving her lips as she looked at her friend and let out a small chuckle. “Oh come on, you won’t let me die?” She asked, tucking a strand of her dark locks behind her ear. “Do I have to do the whole dying wish thing while i’m dying and tell you not to save me, would that actually change your mind or no?” Although Val possibly knew the answer Avril was going to give her, she was just pressing her buttons to see what she would actually tell her, especially now being an pain about it. “My next class is scheduled for Monday at 9am, and then I have another at 5pm. So whichever your able to make is fine with me. I’ll save you a spot in the front because the class get filled quickly.” She assured her friend, it was true. Those who knew or went to the gym knew how quickly the class filled out because it was a great workout routine that Val usually had planned. “Definitely, I could go for a nice chicken salad, what about you?”
