Can Someone Tell Me What Religion I Am, Or What My Beliefs Align With?
I would like to say, I respect and try my hardest to understand every religion, as long as it’s not actively harming innocent people, and I don’t ever judge any religious groups in their entirety, only the people within them that do morally bad/corrupt things (though I don’t have any negative feelings towards any Tbf).
I don’t know what I am religiously. For ages I’ve thought I was Christian: I believe that god created us, I follow the 10 commandments, I try my hardest not to sin, and I pray when I do— I feel like everything that happened in the bible is true, but I also believe God created Lilith to be Adam’s first wife (Or Queen Lilu, the Hebrew mother of all succubi). It makes sense that she’s NOT in the bible, because if she were, her active rebellion against Adam (and that she wasn’t punished for it) could encourage the same behaviours in Christians who read the bible.
Here’s why I think I’m not quite Christian though: Yes, I believe in demons, and in the spiritual realm, but no I don’t see what’s wrong with wanting to interact with it. I understand that demons wish to seduce humans, and bring them an abundance of pleasures related to the flesh, anything to stray them from Gods love, and I don’t see what’s entirely wrong with that. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think selling your soul, and openly making contracts with demons, giving up your essence is smart, but there are things they can give us that I’m curious about. No, I’ve not interacted with any, and so far I don’t plan on it— I only research the occult. But I believe (if you aren’t using their powers to harm others), they’d make some really good allies.
I also believe that Norse gods, Greek gods, and Hindu ones are real too. In the bible, and the book of Enoch, it talks about the angels falling from heaven, cast out for their rebellion against god. It would make sense these powerful beings, banished from heaven (now having no ties to, or obligation to serve god) would create their own pantheons, and names for themselves, trying to pull humans into worshipping them: the ‘fake idols’. It’d also give explanation to how easily these gods fall victim to human vices. Without God’s divine light guiding them, they’re just as succeptible to temptations of the flesh, as we are.
I’m not sure what the point of this rant was, but I’d like to still believe I’m Christian. It’s just that after all the researching of other religions and occults I’ve done for years, that my beliefs don’t entirely align with the bible and such. Like, I believe sex outside of marriage is alright, as long as it’s with a partner you intend to stay with for the foreseeable future. Though, my dislike of one night stands and hookup culture comes from a place of trauma for me.
I dress modestly for the most part, unless I’m alone, in the comfort of my own home or it’s a hot, summers night. I treat everyone with equal respect and kindness, until they prove their undeserving of it, I love all of gods creations, I try my hardest to give back to the land (donations, and planting trees and flowers), I don’t take anymore than I give, I forgive people who’ve wronged me, even when it’s hard (though I don’t forget about it), I try to spread the word of Jesus (no I don’t shove it down people’s throats), and I pray as often as I can.
I would go to church, but I live in the middle of nowhere, so it’s not really possible for me.
