Hi there! I'm an artist who likes drawing and reading comics.

I am the author of Because I'm Depressed, a black comedy webcomic that has been running since 2013.

In addition, I make nonfiction comics about history, science, democracy, and social justice, which can all be read here. I also offer print versions of these for those who like being able to hold a physical comic in their hands, and these can be purchased here.

And finally, I also draw a bunch of other comics, doodles, and odd things that can be found here (no longer updated) and here.

The FCC just approved the test launch of a space mirror-bearing satellite from a company called Reflect Orbital. The plan is to test one mirror this year, and scale up to a "constellation" of 50,000 by 2035. For more background on why space mirrors are a bad idea, I recommend this Scientific American article from last year.

CHICKEN FAT WATCH

"Chicken fat" is an obscure term once used by cartoonists for irrelevant but fun details in the art.

PANEL 2: A bird on the fence is wearing a white wig with elaborate curls, aka a Founding Father wig. Graffiti on the fence shows a heart with "GB + US 4VR" written inside but the heart is crossed out.

PANEL 3: A beer cart is in the background, with a sign saying "BEER: It's what's for breakfast." A drunk child sits against the cart, drinking from an enormous mug. On the cart's other side, a cat is lapping at some spilled beer, while a drunk rat has passed out. A smaller sign on the cart says "HEAD CHEESE - Made from REAL calf head!"

PANEL 4: The website is called "ScrewLoose." The video channel is named "MrBased." The thumbnails for other videos say: "ANGER: I will NOT let them CANCEL me," "FEAR: How WOKE is COMING for your KIDS," and "BUY VITAMINS: THEY don't want you to KNOW about these PILLS!"

Wacom recently asked me to talk about why I make queer comics, and given there are multiple bills right now floating around in congress that are effectively "we will kill your livelihood if we get a sniff of queer" I had some pretty strong, simply feelings to relay.
