A couple of years ago, I was swept up in a second wave of love for ER (the first was back when the show was still airing). The object of my love remained the same: the beautiful, strong, red-haired ER bitch, Kerry Weaver. I started searching like crazy for fanfiction in every language imaginable, and one blessed day, my search turned up a website with an archive of stories from almost twenty years ago. I started reading Scott J. Welles's fanfiction and disappeared for a day. For me, his stories are on par with Leyla Harrison's (Rest In Peace, sweetheart) and amaze me with their nuanced characters and varied plots. Want to know what happened after Kerry told Kim in the cafe, "I'd like you to stay…"? Okay, "Hiccups." Want to know who was the first to show support for Kerry after she came out in the bathroom with Romano? Okay, "Hearsay" (spoiler, it wasn't Kim). Want to know how Kerry once took Randy to a conference in Seattle, and what happened next? Okay, "Hotel." Or maybe you'd like to read about Kerry the astronaut ("Countdown") or Kerry getting caught up in two detective stories ("Healing Wolves" and "The Victim Games"). I'm incredibly amazed at how Scott was able to fit Kerry into a million different circumstances and universes with such plausibility. Speaking of the latter, he's one of several authors of the slightly crazy fanfic "Dreams That You Dare To Dream," in which Kerry, John, Doug, Carol, and Elizabeth travel to parallel worlds (but I only have it in Russian translation). Since the beginning of the year, the website that contained an archive of his fanfics and many, many others has been down. But there's still another one, where his stories remain, along with many other femslash stories. And a couple of days ago, it, too, went down. I spent several hours searching and found both of these websites in the archives. I absolutely love these stories, and I want everyone (crazy Kerry Weaver fans like me) to read them before they disappear completely. Here are the links: Scott J. I haven't come across any fanfics featuring Taggart, Rasgotra, Finch, Benton, Pratt, Gallant, Anspaugh, or Jerry (thank God).

During the filming of one of the final scenes of the East Coast version of the season 4 live episode "Ambush," Laura forgot the trademark crutch that her character, Kerry Weaver walks with. She corrected her mistake when the West Coast version was filmed three hours later. The producers used the West Coast version of the episode in the Season 4 DVD release which minimized Laura's embarrassment.
