â YOUR RADIANCE, I hope the poor weather of Ferelden hasnât dampened your opinion of my fair homeland. Itâs just typical of my luck for it to be raining so when you come to visit. But tell me, how do we fare in comparison to Orlais? Not too barbaric, I hope? â
@valmontisâ | banter call.
â It so rarely rains in Val Royeaux --- I had nearly forgotten what it is like. â Â That will probably be the first of many lies from Celeneâs lips, but she takes care to add a smile. Â â But it will make fair weather seem all the sweeter when it comes, and your gardens will grow lush and green. Ferelden retains its unique charm as always, my dear King. â Â Â
ok i am historically terrible at following up on these kinds of things, but if youâd like to discuss a plot for a thread, give this post a like !! random interactions are tough for celene with most characters, so the more things i have with some direction the better i think?Â
yaâll say you want complex and flawed female characters until you actually fucking get them lol
Empress Celene Valmont I, done as a giveaway prize for @valmontis <3 I hope I did her justice! (Giveaway was done by the lovely @mercenarysexuality on her RP blog I believe)
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!! this is beautiful, thank you both so much !!!!!!
maleficaes replied to your post âin threads set before TME, thereâs a good chance that ser michel will...â
lizzie, frantically waving her hand bc she wants to be celene's champion too
well, there is a vacancy
in threads set before TME, thereâs a good chance that ser michel will be making a background appearance --- celene doesnât like to talk to people alone unless she knows them very well and trusts them enough to see them without her champion there to protect her.Â
however, before 9:30 / origins, celene had a different champion. ser roland was an accomplished young chevalier, the nephew of the academieâs prodigious swordmaster julien de lierre. he was an energetic man with a good-natured personality, the kind of person who could diffuse a tense situation with an easy bit of humour. he died stopping an assassin's blade before it could get to celene, which gave her enough time to draw her own blade and kill the assailant herself.Â
ok this hellthing is finally finished so here u go, characters from the masked empire, only redesigned because their in-game looks are awful ¯\_(ă)_/ÂŻ

Iâm really protective of female characters that get treated unfairly by fans who would love them for the same traits if they were men

âYour Radiance - I am absolutely overjoyed to meeting you again. Under better circumstances than the last time, as well⌠I am very happy to see that the situation is stabilizing again, your Majesty.â
â I am pleased that you will see Orlais as she is meant to be --- my cousin had little care for the artistry and learning that make her so grand a country. You will accompany me to the theatre sometime, yes? â
celene was born in 9:04 dragon; she is 37 years old during inquisition / we&wh and has ruled orlais for more than 20 years. itâs a high - stress job, needless to say, and so her hair had turned from pale blonde to mostly silver by the time she was 30. itâs a subtle change. she thinks it makes her look distinguished. Â
brialaâs tiny smile after celene says âyou did all of this for me?â when gaspard is explaining how briala murdered emissaries etc.

( arishok voice ) thanks celene

âŚ: The Qun
Celene supports the Qun. Not because of the culture or religion, which she views with much the same condescension as most Orlesians do, albeit with a bit of academic interest to mediate it. She likes the part where theyâre engaged in war with Tevinter. It keeps the Imperium busy --- it keeps the Imperium out of Orlais. The enemy of oneâs enemy might not be a friend, but she certainly isnât complaining.Â
She would, of course, love to engage in diplomatic talks with the Qunari leaders to ensure their aggression never turns towards Orlais, but distance is hardly permitting. Besides, it would be compromising if Tevinter discovered she was supporting their enemies in any way.Â
( An opinion thatâs dampened very much by the events of Trespasser. Their access to the eluvian network is hugely troubling, and shows they are far more advanced than she had given them credit for previously. Diplomacy is still her preference before outright war, but she would be prepared to militarise Orlais in the face of a Qunari threat, particularly under pressure from the chevaliers. )Â

âť tell me about FERELDANS đđđđđ
Theyâre very puzzling. And they smell like damp fur and meat.Â
Still, Celene has a grudging respect for Ferelden and its people. Itâs a shame, of course, that the Occupation didnât work, but she knows all too well how noblemen and chevaliers will abuse the power that they take --- she personally had nothing to do with the Rebellion, which does make it a little easier to be objective, but Ferelden won the war fairly, if somewhat miraculously. ( Her Official Statement on the Occupation, however, tends to be that it wasnât worth holding anyway. )
But objectively Ferelden still falls short of Orlesian standards, from its language to its fashion to their utter lack of subtlety. She thinks its people are too stubborn, too quick to anger. Pride itself isnât a problem --- itâs just their manner of handling that pride that seems to result in strenuous diplomacy. Personally, she dislikes the resentment towards Orlais, even if she knows where itâs coming from; it isnât practical in moving forward, she thinks, and hanging on to the past only seems to be setting back the truly peaceful relations that would be beneficial for both of their countries.Â
She does try to be a good host, at least. Itâs impossible to stop all her nobles from making rude comments, but she tries to lead by example, and would never stoop to name-calling or the worst kinds of insinuations. Â

ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ Â just going to post a gentle reminder that i do not support celenexbriala abuse headcanons. itâs right there on my rules page.Â
