Cecily/Halfrek (in her human form) is genuinely one of the prettiest characters I have ever seen! She is so elegant and graceful! There’s something really charming and soothing about her whole vibe (despite the fact that she’s a vengeance demon)! But the thing that strikes me the most about her is that while I find her to be exceptionally beautiful… She still looks like a real person! Like, she’s exceptionally beautiful (to me) but not “model beautiful” (and doesn’t need to be). She reminds me of some of the teachers or librarians I’ve met in my life, which were some of the most graceful and stylish people I’ve met! Which reminds me of the fact that some of the most beautiful people you could see are not models. In fact, most of them aren’t.

I know it’s probably been said thousands of times, but man I miss when TV Shows had characters that looked like real people. People that you could see in the streets, at work, at school, at the grocery store. Even the most conventionally attractive ones looked natural. There was a time when people who had had a gazillion plastic surgeries were so rare that they were seen as “weird”. Nowadays you have thousands of influencers showcasing and promoting extreme body modification procedures such as BBLs, buccal-fat-removal, being on ozempic and botox. You have people literally having their RIBS removed, putting them in a bag, filming themselves brandishing said bag with a wide smile on their face and posting it like it’s normal. Gosh.

Instead of remaking good movies and shows, they should look into what made these media so good and make new ones that follow the same formulas. We don’t want a Tangled remake but we would love a new Rapunzel retelling that doesn’t try to replicate the Disney version. One that only takes inspiration from it to create its vibe and whimsy while telling a whole new version of the story. Nobody asked for a Mean Girls remake/musical in 2024, but I’m sure a lot of people would love new movies with the same vibe that tell new stories with new characters, new humor and new iconic lines that will be remembered twenty years later. We don’t necessarily need a Buffy The Vampire Slayer revival (though we’re open to the idea) but there’s so many cool book series about the supernatural and Chosen Ones that deserve to be adapted on screen with just as much wit and passion, by new talented showrunners that have yet to be discovered!

On one hand, I can understand not wanting to see any more period movies with actors who are wearing modern makeup or whose faces have obviously been redone (I don’t believe people naturally have ‘iPhone faces’ because natural faces are timeless no matter what they look like). But on the other hand, I feel like people are doing too much with the discourse surrounding the Odyssey casting.

Brother Bear is actually so messed up. Like, imagine you’re a happy, cheerful child waiting for your mom to come back and you befriend someone whom you soon start seeing as a potential new family member, only for said friend to confess to you that he murdered your mom.

Whoever at Google decided that all of your personal mailboxes should automatically be merged together deserves to have their pillows be warm at all times. Like, I have multiple email adresses for a REASON. I should NOT see notifications for my job applications in the same mailbox I use for my socials.

People calling a normal, realistic male body a ‘dad bod’ will never fail to make me cringe, especially when it’s about men in their 20s. Or heck, even a fat male body. Or men in their 30s or 40s, like… As if having a certain amount of fat was exclusive to dads.
