Today I bring to you Raven Rockbell's summarised lore for those who were asking, along with some drawings to create ambiance/context (?) Let's go:
Raven Margaret Rockbell: a summary.
Born on December 21st, 1962, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Is a pureblood witch and the youngest daughter of Killian Rockbell (Slytherin and a Death Eater) and Cecilia Voronina (Slyhterin). From a young age she was manipulated by her father to follow his steps in Dark Magic, forcing her to “train” her skills with cruel methods and constantly belittling her. His goal was to turn Raven into a tool for his own gain. Her mother was constantly mentally absent due to her being under the Imperius curse by Killian.
Raven grew up isolated and quiet, sometimes her mother would meet up with her friend Eileen Prince from Hogwarts (Snape's mom :P) for tea whenever their husbands weren't around. She maintained a friendly relationship with Severus during their school years, but they weren't best friends, so when they graduated they drifted apart.
She was particularly skilled in duelling, charms, DADA, divination, study of ancient runes, alchemy and history of magic. At 16 she performed the ritual to become an animagus but never registered, since it was a way to escape her daily life (her animagus form is... a raven. I'M SO ORIGINAL I KNOW).
Once she graduated, her father (who had a privileged position at the Ministry) made her become an Auror with the intention of gathering information and knowledge for the Dark Lord. His plan was to eventually become the next most powerful evil wizard. However, at the Ministry, Raven met a gentle and sweet wizard named Robert Wick, who managed to break down her walls and they eventually married a couple of years later. Seeing this as a betrayal, Killian sent two infiltrated evil wizards at the Ministry to kill them both, Robert who wasn't very skilled at duelling was murdered, but Raven managed to defend herself and killed and tortured them both as revenge. This happened around the same time the Potter's were murdered. The Ministry, who was not aware of the infiltration, saw this as treason and sent Raven to Azkaban. Years later, around 1986, Dumbledore decided to re-visit her case and with the help of Snape she was released in 1987, with the intention of making her a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Knowing she was mentally unstable, he made Snape keep an eye on her.
Now free, but unsure of her future and emotionally broken from all the abuse in Azkaban and all the trauma she went through, she finds herself lost, angry and depressed. She starts frequenting Muggle clubs and starts drinking and using drugs, she's rarely at home and Snape had to save her ass quite a few times, he's obviously not happy about it and scolds her frequently. One night, locked inside her house, she decides she had enough and tries to drown herself in her bathtub, but Snape intervenes on time. He takes her to Dumbledore and he casually mentions to her that he knows some wizards/witches around the world who might be able to help her reconnect with herself and her magic. Being the impulsive disaster she is, a week later, she decides to pack up her stuff and leave the UK to visit Dumbledore's colleagues. She doesn't tell anyone. After a month she is declared missing.
Two years later she returns to her house in the UK, she had been travelling around Eurasia, visiting Turkey, Russia, China, Thailand, India and Australia, where her older brother had moved to escape their father and had become a Magizoologist and raised dragons. Snape, who was still faithful to Dumbledore's instructions to keep an eye on her, visits her house every once in a while but finds it empty, until she returns. She is better, happier, sassier, more powerful and more sarcastic than ever. She officially joins the Order and is usually given tasks that involve research and retrieval of ancient books and artifacts. She also becomes closer with Snape, they reconnect through memories from their childhood, passion for their fields of interest and the trauma from losing their loved ones. Eventually, their friendship starts taking a romantic twist as they start to hang out more frequently.
After the events of The Prisoner of Azkaban, Dumbledore decides to hire her as Student Counselor at Hogwarts, to help students keep their morale and help them with personal problems and subjects they struggle with. After all, someone who has been through hell and managed to come back is usually the best therapist/support :D
