“whatever the fuck these two characters had going on” is a vastly underrated character dynamic
“Weird about each other” is how I’ve always put it. It’s my favorite thing.
Cas having fucking powers makes MC look even more insane about their own
Cas, finds out they have powers: screaming, crying, throwing up, avoiding everyone, questioning their existence, dealing with all these new changes, clawing their face, breaking their childhood house, causing thunderstorms and sticks to fall down on people who anger them
MC, whenever they get a new power:
ID: Paths Not Taken Playthrough: Cas
- Book One of ID makes the MC smart and reasonable, this book...does not do that.
- Like why would you expect Cas to be at a party he definitely wasn't invited to?
- Also. Also, if kicking Cas and Seth out were an option all along, why did they not do that in the first book?
- The dialog implies that Cas being kicked out of the party is for reasons more complicated than being a troublemaker. This is interesting, which means the book does nothing with it.
- you could argue he was talking about being a vampire but none of the humans know that he is one and Libby kicked us out.
- Seth is still a baby and I still love him.
- So, why did Cas and Seth walk off? To go hunting or were they just trotting along and Seth became overcome with random bloodlust?
- Also, Cas was the out of control one, which is interesting. So, of course, the book does NOTHING with it!
- This book raises an interesting question: Since the MC was never taken to the tribunal here, does that mean Gabriel ratted us out in the original storyline?
- It skips over large portions of the ID plot, rather than add in new things instead or make them different because Gabriel isn't there. This was probably to save time but I feel cheated.
- Gabriel is legitimately threatening in the Festival scene, making it seem like he'd target the MC to get at Cas or be antagonistic in some way. But you see dear readers that would be interesting! So the book does NOTHING with it!
- If Cas should have been branded for anything, he should have been branded for telling his boyfriend about Vampires.
- Everyone is weirdly more Chill than they are in the main story, I fully expected to have to defend myself and Cas with my life and the first tribunal was just...mildly annoyed.
- It looked like Gabriel was actually evil but that would be interesting, SO THE BOOK DOES NOTHING WITH IT.
- Also, I'm not leaving Gabriel, because I am not evil and because it would look bad if a Venandi and a Venandi-Adjacent came back without a Clement
- Llewellyn, why the fuck would you have Gabe destroy the one thing that prevents you from being crispy bacon during the day? You're supposed to be smarter than this.
- How did Llewellyn not know the MC was a vampire and how is Astoria not surprised and why is she so okay with everything and- you know what, I'm making myself not care.
- Holy Lore Inconsistencies Batman.
Plot twist: the two boys you're choosing between are polyamorous, but they also hate eachother's guts so you still have to pick one
Sorry but watching them fight gets me off, I'm keeping them both in a jar and shaking it up and down every hour.
The scene:
My brain, every time:
There is no playthrough part 9 because the end of the book reminded me too much of the final battle with the creator and it annoyed me.
Also, they killed Seth, which was not necessary.
Immortal Desires Playthrough Part Eight
Should have waited to post part seven but here we are.
"I'm sure your mom would never betray you!" Gabe, Cas, I love you both, but the woman found out vampires exist because her son tried to eat her. There are two reasonable reactions to this, one is betrayal and the other is fleeing and then having a nervous breakdown.
Granted, I would not take steps to harm my child but I would quickly spiral into madness because I lived in the house with someone who sees humans as Capri suns for weeks.
I've read fanfic better than this.
Why did the witches not immediately realize that sharp teeth and glowing eyes does not equal a good time for humanity and deal with it then?
Are there still witches? Where are they? Are the hunters witches or are they humans messing with forces that could blow them up if they breath funny?
"Cas could be a descendant of these witches" It is as good as an explanation as any, though it is bullshit and annoys me.
The MC could also be a descendant of witches but no one brings that up at all. It'll happen soon though.
"I gave the names of all the vampire in Crimson Beech" How in the everloving hell do you even know that information at all?! Until a few hours ago you didn't even remember vampires existed and now you're giving out names?
"They have a cure!" The cure is death. The cure is being dead, how are you this naive, how? How do you look at this place and these people and go, "These hunters are fine upstanding citizens, who will have a cure for my son!"
Listen, the minute the game gives me the option, I'm going to have MC kill these people and let them become the subjects of a true crime video on YouTube.
I blinded them with mirrors in the middle of the night. I hate them and they're too stupid to live.
I'm going to launch Terri into the sun, first chance I get.
Immortal Desires Playthrough part seven
- Finally was able to play so this is two chapters and one rant!
- "You stand accused of revealing yourself to two humans." You stand accused of being sloppy, why would you let them live? Or not wipe their memories?
- I picked 'this is outrageous' because it IS outrageous, the punishment isn't even whats standard, they're just mad he was turned without permission!
- What will the MCs mom think if they're gone for a week, you Kentucky fried fucks?!
- 'Imagine life Outside the Ley Lines' imagine not spending diamonds on that.
- I explored the cave because I'm not getting jumped by vampire hunters. There's really nothing to say, just...damn. they murdered those people by banishing them.
- Bury their bodies you freak.
- The forest rangers are hunters, oh no. How surprising.
- also, Cas is now an X-Man because of a silver papercut.
- the hunters must have known Cas was a vampire or suspected, which is a whole new level of concerning.
- "They're going to drop a small sun into the Nexus!" I cannot begin to express how much I don't give a shit about the ungrateful bastards that run that cesspool. Were it not for the fledglings and the two elders I respect, I'd let them cook.
- Mom is working with the hunters, in a twist I should have seen but everything else was making me angry. Well done I guess.
Immortal Desires Playthrough part Six
- Instead of doing something constructive, like looking for Cas, the MC has decided that Bella from Twilight is the person to emulate.
- "What if Cas skipped town" what if he's being murdered right now MC? That's also possible.
- *Me looking at the outfit* "I'm not paying for this shit."
-Love how MC just leaves the house without telling his mom what's going on, that won't come back to bite you at all dumbass.
- Remember when this MC was smart?
- They're seeking out scared traumatized kids to recruit. The covens are made up of mostly teenagers, from what we can tell they had next to no family. So the covens gave them a family, at a cost. Maybe I'm overthinking this but it's honestly sinister.
-Llewyn especially gives me Other Mother vibes, "You can stay here forever if you want to, there's just one tiny thing you have to do."
-Doing the sideways Macerena in an abandoned house was not what I expected but here we are.
-Why is there any conflict about who the MC should choose, when I- The Player- have consistently chosen Cas?
-Oh good, the inner conflict has caused Unnecessary Problems.
-Seriously considered silencing Lennox but decided against it since I think killing in town limits will cause more issues than I need at the moment. Even though, no matter what I do, there are always a bunch of damn issues following me around, like stupid little ducklings of contrived misery.
-Speaking of issues, mom knows I'm a vampire and everything has gone to hell. Hooray, more of this.
Why do the Vampires in Crimson Beech walk everywhere... especially during the day! Yall can't just hop into a car with tinted windows?... Instead they walk everywhere, during the day across lay lines. Very strange. 🤔
Fvck Denise, Penny and Sam. All my homies hate Denise, Penny and Sam.
Immortal Desires Playthrough part five
- I'm so sick of the mom drama and it just keeps coming.
- "Your high willpower helped you keep your cool!" Someone has to in this house.
- The Venandi's are all assholes but Val and Scott are at least funny about it. Margo is kind of the worst.
- I'm guessing Cas was a teen in the mid to late 80s, going on flashback clothing styles alone. This means he could have been born in the early 70s or late 60s, making him a rare Gen X vampire.
- I've never wanted to strangle a Choices character before and then Denise existed.
- Cas's recruitment actually makes me a little upset, they saw a scared vulnerable kid being ostracized and decided to bring him into a gang. I'd adopt Cas if I could.
- I think this whole diamond scene upsets me because my best friend in middle school/early high school was a foster kid and people would say that stuff to her. It makes me cry to think about it now as an adult who understands Implications and I'm sad for Cas. He deserved better.
- Libbey is being really weird, it makes me uncomfortable. I may have to drain her like a capri sun if this gets any worse.
- "You have to choose eventually" I already did Jade. I very clearly have. This isn't even a discussion.
- Gabriel, you know the MC is with Cas, why are you setting this clock tower nonsense up at all?
- I was right about the powers as I am about most things and by most things I mean nothing. This was a fluke and an easy guess.
- Did he block me?
Immortal Desires MC: Asher Tombs
- 18, born on May 5th.
- Constantly cold, usually wears sweaters.
- has one older half brother named Brennan, who he's close to (different dads same mom).
- Asher's parents are divorced due to his dad cheating and being an asshole to Brennan.
- Deep into folklore and urban legends, finding out about legendary vampires sends him over the moon.
- his favorite movie is Lost Boys.
- Joins the ghost hunting club, is basically the Shane to everyone else's Ryan.
- Asher has a weird love for bubblegum pop, likes to blast it to annoy Cas.
- his favorite show is Blades of Light and Shadow and his favorite character is Kade.
- Asher collects weird knickknacks against his will (Brennan gifts them to him).
- Has a vintage stuffed clown that Brennan gave him when he was six (kicking off the weird gift trend), a caterpillar inherited from his mom, and a stuffed triceratops he's owned since birth.
- Asher also has an octopus furby from his older brother that he fears beyond reason and keeps within his line of sight at all times. He calls it Cthulu.
- Somehow befriends Scott. No one knows how he did it.
- The Responsibile One.
Immortal Desires Playthrough part four
- I wasn't looking forward to more mom drama, so I am pleasantly suprised by how nice the entire interaction was.
- Gabriel's fingerprints are now on the journal. Hooray.
- the Venandi and Clement elders are more fun and kind than Llewellyn or Astoria, which is a nice change of pace.
- My guess is Libby is a vampire hunter or she helps the vampire hunter.
- "just forget the dream" is the best dialouge option in this case and yet it still feels wrong.
- The ley line graft is an interesting thing I never considered but it does make sense.
- I bet MC and the LI of their choosing move down to Flagstone Cove, I'm calling it now.
- I'm suspicious of these park rangers. They're either looking to become the stars of "Missing 411" or they're looking for vampires.
- The ley line probably gave Cas powers. Which will probably be fine.
- naming the drone has the same energy as my grandfather naming all his beef cattle "McLunchington".
- I want to know more about Cas and Gabriel's relationship. Tell me more about your baggage you sad weird men.
