Hey, you have something to say to me, don't you?

the beatles in the studio: a case study

This fan photo by Beatlemaniac Silvia Purbs of Berlin was submitted along with her recollections to the German magazine BRAVO.
“George’s new motto: Live colorfully, friends! I was so lucky! First I visited #GeorgeHarrison with my English pen pal – and then I met Paul McCartney, too! My visit with George was a total success. I hadn’t expected him to be so friendly. He talked for a very long time to my friend and myself, partially in German as well. After we had taken several photos of him and his colorful house [Kinfauns], we said goodbye and left with happy smiles on our faces. Later, on the way to London’s Regents Park, I noticed a house that was being ‘besieged’ by several girls. An elderly woman was testily telling them to be patient and not ring the doorbell constantly, Paul McCartney would be home in a moment. Shortly thereafter, a taxi arrived with Paul! He rang the bell – and had to wait quite some time before the elderly woman opened the door for him. She was very dismayed when she saw that she had kept Paul waiting, and not the unwelcome guests…” - Silvia Purbs; translated from BRAVO no. 5 1968 (x)

It’s true and they should say it.
I can’t stop laughing because…
like I don’t know how you can get more obvious than tweeting “I’m sure I’m bisexual,” but clearly The Sun isn’t convinced
tbt to the time a bi woman explicitly said she was sure she was bisexual and “journalists” were like
I mean, it’s a thing…
biphobia is rampant in all walks of life sadly
The look on Bowie’s face in that last picture, he’s just like “how thick are you? I’m bi, deal with it”
So many people wouldn’t have asthma in the first place if it wasn’t for these corporations…Shifting blame from actual culprits to people with asthma (and people who can’t help but use plastic straws at that) is peak capitalism.
The unmitigated GAUL of TIME magazine to produce this is unbelievable.
THIS is eco-ableism.
The only time the bootlickers will speak about enviroment and of course it is the blame-shifting craven nonsense that outright pivotes into eco-fascism. -Admin
it is so important to understand how much the lens of queer life and love that focuses on yearning, pining, hiding, and covert existence is associated with high-class people with money and status who had to hide and yearn and pine to protect their wealth— unless of course one was so wealthy that they were immune to social pressure. whereas lower class queer people were out there sucking and fucking and gender nonconforming the whole time. flagrant faggotry is the territory of the fantastically wealthy and the brutally poor with the middle classes squeezed in between.

the history of well-off, comfortable, educated queer people being repulsed and horrified by how broke queer people live their lives and express their queerness.
you saw this a lot back in the days when the college-educated lesbian feminists from good families interacted with the working class butch and femme bar crowds. These good respectable women were horrified by what they saw as the violence and degeneracy and tastelessness of their social inferiors and it informed a lot of the anti-butch/femme that cropped up in academic lesbian writing, especially when it came to femmes who were prostitutes or had been (or still were) married to men, or butches who were too ‘obvious’ and just begging to be arrested and beaten by the police for hanging out in such grungy bars. Lesbian author after author mention how taboo it was to go to the bars to socialize and hook up instead of lecturing the patrons on how much better and more appropriately they could be living their lives— even Dorothy Allison mentioned the pressure she was under to “save” the people she really just wanted to hang out with and fuck.

how queer class hatred goes hand in hand with queer white supremacy, and how lower-class queer spaces were denigrated for not being white enough in addition to not meeting class standards for respectability and proper comportment.
assimilationism had always been about maintaining queer image within the parameters of what white supremacy deems representable.
