The biggest mistake our modern day, online LGBTQ+ community has made was think that sexuality was rigid and had to be complicit to gender. Labels exist, yes, and there are some labels that have tons of different definitions or a more general one. However, there are people who use labels for the sake of it or convenience of it. There are people who use sexuality labels because it describes them, without them needing to care about their own gender.Ā
Thereās a reason why old queers/LGBTQ+ people donāt give a damn if a trans woman calls herself a transsexual or a gay man. Thereās a reason why older queers/LGBTQ+ people donāt care if youāre agender and a man or woman. Thereās a reason why youāre really not supposed to care about the labels a person uses unless they want you to respect and support them. I literally do not care if youāre a m-spec lesbian or gay. I donāt care if youāre gnc and youāre a binary man or binary woman. I donāt care if you have pronouns that donātĀ āfitā your gender or whatever. I donāt care if youāre a she/her gay man or a he/him lesbian woman. Idc if youāre an aroace bi, pan, lesbian, gay, etc. Literally itās none of my business.Ā
So why do exclusionists give a shit so much? Why do they not understand that sexuality and gender are fluid and different/personal for everyone else? Itās because they feel super entitled to others or feel super insecure in themselves/fell for whatever propaganda comes up next.Ā
I literally only give a damn if someone starts making up orientations that are actually genuinely bad faith and meant to harm marginalized people. Like, no, pansexuality isnāt transphobic or biphobic. No, bisexuality isnāt transphobic or panphobic or whatever, blah blah blah. But thatĀ āsuper straightā shit IS transphobic.
