Review, recommendation, thoughts and storytime regarding ‘My heart and other black holes’ by Jasmine Warga, 2015
Finished reading My heart and other black holes earlier today and just can’t bring myself to stop thinking about it. What a book! —Suprisingly so, giving that it has a pretty dumb title in my country as translations aren’t always literal. It gives a wrong impression of it, I believe. Literally it would translate back to English as ‘My heart during grey days’. Might not sound as bad but its pink and white cover just sat in my bookshelf for years, not calling my attention whatsoever. That was until I got a hold of it and daaaamn it I could not put it away.
I had quit reading altogether for a couple of years and this was the perfect book to get hooked to and re-gain my love for them. To a point that I had to come here and share it.
I know I’m rather late to the party, -by years lol- but is it only me that was left feeling a bit like there should have been more to it? There’s that certain topic which involves a parent in the story that was left unfinished and it has been stuck in my mind for the past six hours or so. I was waiting to meet this character for the whole damn book!1!!
On the other hand, I honestly thought it would end differently! It suprised me for the better and I would really recommend it if you haven’t read it yet. It is a 5/5 for me.
