Perhaps the mental suffering comes up for you to go inward toward unconditionally loving yourself. Once you realize this- you can release the need for mental suffering and go straight to the forgiveness, self love, and acceptance.

but realized that was old insecurities and the fear of being abandoned talking and not the spirit she knew she was.
