Devlog #2: Scrapping Failed Plans For New Ones

In May I made the first devlog, illustrating my plans and steps to start making this game. May and June have passed. What did I accomplish? Where is development now?

I was really busy in June, unable to work on art — no new draft designs besides a couple sketches here and there. So, I need to change how I'm doing things in order to get things done.

I'm going to start working on the writing first: fleshing out the story, writing the code, scrapping drafts. Repeat. The way I work is not linear; working on parts I know first and then the parts I'm not sure of, then fixing the betweens to make a nice flow.

I'm going to set this deadline for myself:

- Have a draft of the story written by August.

- have the UI designed by August

This game has been YEARS in the making. Between learning code, coding, to drawing all the art and singular asset. I still have a long way to go but I am so proud I've gotten this far. I hope you all love Vinnie as much as I do! She was so fun to write and draw.

I do think my writing and artwork has gotten better since I started this game. It will be fun to see in the future!

1.1 Update! I fixed a couple things wrong with the original build. See the Dev Log here. The link above still works to download the game. This should be the final update to the prototype, unless there's major bugs.

Devlog #1: Planning and First Drafts

This month, and likely next month as well, has been filled with drafting ideas, scrapping those ideas, and trying to take what I liked from that idea and make it work in a different way. I have started to sketch rough designs for the characters. So far everything is going well! I'm talking to a friend about the game, they have been so supportive and helpful.

Bit of a lackluster devlog, I know. Is there anything I can offer? I can say the current plans I have for development, though keep in mind this may change. I'm very busy recently, however! I will keep doing the rough designs and once that's done—in minimum two months—I can start putting a test game together to test out these ideas. Who knows, maybe I'll let you guys play-test and give me feedback... 👁️👁️
