I have been open about my love of baymax in my own circles and everyone appreciates it and thinks he is very hot andor cute. so basically anyone who knows has their lives instantly improved 👍 Everyone must learn the glory of his name

sorry if this is weird (or if its weird to assume this is weird 😭😭(.. weirdception)) but i just wanted to say ur baymax piece is very very pleasing to look at. not because its hot (though im sure to others it is 👍 its pretty awesomr just not my thing lol) but the coloring is very well done :-) i also like the pose of course and i think the way u drew the face is cute.. also the outfit was quite cutieful as well :-) u captured baymax very very nicely in ur fanart

not weird at all!! (in any sense, i also get nervous sending asks) thank you so much ... i am still getting used to drawing him and getting his proportions/mannerisms right. here is a little doodle of him at low battery from the other day

idk very recently i have found myself obsessed with him. Its mostly the robot/nurse combo kicking my ass but i also think the nuances of his character make me want to blow up. scott adsit (his va) will try to give a both-sides non-answer when asked something related to baymax having emotions but he will often say that if he does he struggles identifying and expressing them... i think this is true. he has a very biological(?) human-centric(?) perspective on feelings, he may interpret them purely from neurotransmitters and body language, which he doesn't really have either of. but he clearly does feel things, just not in the same way a human would. its not a huge moment but the after credits scene in ep 3 of baymax! is a very special example to me: baymax is practicing yo-yo tricks while he's supposed to be charging, and if picking up hobbies isnt enough for you, when hiro turns to look at him he immediately hides it like he's afraid of being caught awake past his bedtime. 😭 What is the unfeeling robot explanation for that big guy.

combining this with baymax's own denial and avoidance, (saying things like "i don't feel [blank] because i'm a robot" but often describing shallower/'safer' feelings, saying he cares and has family but never saying he loves anyone), you get a very Emotionally Repressed view of him. he could feel very deeply, but he is unwilling to accept it. he's a robot. he thinks he doesn't have the "equipment" to feel things. maybe he thinks that if he did, they would get in the way and make him a worse healthcare companion. he isn't a robot character that would ever want to "break free of his programming" or something like that, and it allows for him to evolve more subtly. And i think thats beautiful. learning that the robot filter on his voice gradually fades until it's entirely gone when he's saying goodbye to hiro makes me want to hurt people

i also want him to crush me with his armor. But he never would 💔 this rant was unwarranted ive been stuck awake since 2am becaus e of the Bird but this makes it easier. So thank you again
