If you don't mind, what did you do to be fit? I want to be fit too :(
I don’t mind at all! Anyways, I’m still not at my best- I’ve got a lot more work to do! But I can tell you what I do, or try to do at least!
Eating clean and healthy is 90% of it. That means no fast food, sodas, or sugary sweets! Of course you can always cheat once in a while- I’m not saying I don’t!
Stay away from carbonated beverages and processed foods- this are no good! The carbonation can cause you to bloat and processed foods lose a lot of their nutritional value along with packing in a TON of sodium.
Stay away from sugar alcohol (it’s usually in sugar free things) and high sodium foods. Having high sodium makes you retain more water because everything is so salty. When you retain water, you’re more likely to bloat and look heavier than you actually are.
EAT VEGETABLES AND FRUITS!! I usually try to eat fruits in the morning because though they are good for you, some can pack in a lot of sugar (such as bananas, cherries, blueberries..) But the sugar in them is natural and much better for you than added sugar.
Eat more whole GRAINS than whole WHEAT. Whole grains pack in a lot more grains than wheat, whole wheat is only made of wheat and it can lack some nutrients. DO NOT EAT WHITE BREAD-it is bleached and highly unhealthy. If you must eat bread, reach for whole grains!
Whole grains also includes BROWN rice- NOT white! Whole grains help regulate your digestive system and help you achieve a flat tummy!
DRINK A LOT OF WATER!! This is SO important! Staying hydrated reduces the water you retain therefore making bloating less likely. It clears out your body getting rid of toxins and unnecessary things like excess sodium. It also gives you clear skin!
Eat vegetables throughout the day- preferably with every meal. Cruciferous vegetables such as, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and kale are a MUST to eat. They are high in fiber (which is belly busting) and nutritious! They are low in calories and high in daily fiber that your body needs.
Pack in that protein!! Now that doesn’t mean downing protein shake after protein shake or eating an entire chicken, but it’s vital for rebuilding muscle and keeping you energized! Adult men need around 56 grams of protein and adult women need about 46 grams.
Add in a protein shake as a meal replacement, they are high in protein and usually contain vital nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that we need on a daily basis. However, make sure you read the label to make sure the protein you’re consuming isn’t high in sugar. Always try to get organic protein- I suggest Isagenix protein powder as a meal replacement and/or Tone It Up! protein powder as a snack.
Speaking of which BUY ORGANIC!! Organic foods aren’t sprayed with pesticides or have harsh chemicals that are terrible for our bodies!
ALL NATURAL DOESN”T MEAN ANYTHING!! Companies can slap on the label of “All Natural” on ANYTHING but it doesn’t mean that it’s not filled with chemicals or ingredients that are bad for our bodies. Organic is guaranteed to be good for you.
ALSO- eat small, frequent meals (around 5 a day instead of 3 large meals) this keeps your metabolism moving.
Try not to eat after 8 p.m.
On to some exercises before I start off on a rant about food lol
Do AT LEAST 30 minutes of cardio 5 or 6 times a week. IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER take it easy! Add exercise in gradually otherwise you can hurt yourself!
Strength training should be every other day. Alternate what you do each day otherwise you won’t give your muscles time to recover. (Such as resistance training for your arms Monday, Wednesday, Friday and leg training Tuesday, Thursday…)
It’s important to have a warm up AND a cool down with exercising. A warm up loosens your muscles and prepares them for exercise and a cool down brings your heart rate down at a safe pace and also prevents from blood pooling in your limbs.
It’s important to stay active so, even if you think you don’t have time for exercising- YOU DO! 10 minutes of exercise is better than nothing.
If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it!
Do yard work, play a sport, house work, anything to stay moving!
And an important part- don’t forget you can have a cheat day, you’re only human!!
Stay positive and healthy!
I hope this helped!! I kind of cut it short so if anyone has any questions just send me a message!! I’d be happy to go over my exercise routines or anything else you might want to know!! Remember to be happy!! You all are perfect and if you want to achieve a different body goal than the one you have now, that’s okay! The body you have is yours to love and keep healthy but that doesn’t mean there’s a certain body type that is “better” than the other. All shapes and sizes ARE BEAUTIFUL!! This is just what I do and it’s my choice. Stay lovely my babies! <3
