Thinking about how, thanks to LBD and her possession of SWK, we now have confirmation that every single fight that we have see Sun Wukong in... he was holding back.

When he fought Macaque in the first season, Spider Queen during the ses 2 special, Nezha while he was trying to get the map, the Scorpion Demon too probably, (though he was a bit nerfed then,) he was not using even close to his real power. We have just now seen his real speed. He could have taken out Macaque in an instant when he first showed up, without endangering Mk. But he didn't.

Sun Wukong has incredible control over his strength and what's more, he doesn't truly want to hurt anyone.

The Samadhi fire is a weapon of mass destruction, but we see it burn away LBD's hold--the chains--from Macaque without killing him. If you're a powerful being, or even just someone with power and the one in control of the power doesn't want to hurt you and they have enough control over it,  chances are it's not going to kill you.

SWK's Master, his mentor, his friend is gone, but his lessons in compassion remain. He wanted to defeat the Lady Bone Demon. Never once did he say kill until the end.

The old Monkey King's go-to was to kill. It was easy, he didn't really see what was wrong with it, it sure got rid of the problem faster. This Monkey King? After JTTW? ...Killing is his absolute last resort.

Monkey King left to find a way to defeat the Lady Bone Demon without killing her. And when that failed, only then did he confront her. He had the power to kill her all along, had the power to kill all of them, he may have been slightly nerfed at times, but like... at the end of it all, hurting people is the last thing he wants to do. And he did everything he could to prevent that being the action he had to take.

In the end he failed though. And thats when he fell to his last resort. And maybe he regretted it a little bit because if he'd just killed her in the first place none of this would have happened. But his time with Tang Sanzang taught him value life and value compassion. Even at his own expense. Kinda like Mk at times.

ngl I feel Tang would have a soft spot for Wukong and even spoil him to an extent-- he likes cupping his face often or even at least just one hand on his cheek. When SWK gets injured or tired from fighting a rather powerful enemy, Tang might often be the first to reach him just right before Pigsy, and cup his face and look over injuries like, "Are you hurt?? Did he strike you that bad?". The other two feel Tang is also aware of the irony, but it's obvious it's from genuine love and concern for the real Sun Wukong, long moved on from just the idol he's grown to worship almost all of his life.

Wukong likes to hug Pigsy from behind and purr against his cheek or tease him when the chef isn't having any of his antics at times, but in reality, he likes the feeling of Wukong's strong arms in a secure yet caring embrace. When not arguing or bickering, Pigsy likes to slow dance with Tang or just act like an old couple with him, while Wukong is contently smiling behind or beside them on either of their arms. Sometimes they take turns dancing and can even melt into sounds of laughter. While out and about, the two may often speak for all three of them as Wukong lets them take the lead, his eyes may be contently closed or his tail lazily swings as the two go over on what they should buy for groceries later on that day.

Sometimes Pigsy jokes the two alternate who's the "better freeloader" of the poly, but his two lovers know he has the worst soft spot for them than anyone else in the world and even spoils them slightly rotten when he's not too ticked off by their shenanigans. They might be more "freeloaders" than necessary, but they're his rotten noodle and peach heads, dammit. Usually, it's not surprising that Pigsy is protective of Tang, but even Wukong gets surprised or even touched when Pigsy vouches for him or they share a genuine moment of love and care for each other.

Tbh the reason I like this ship is that I think they Both have something to offer to the other. The aspect of Sandy looking after Macaque's well-being, and the latter feeling not only safe but also be perfectly understood -- I think that's the biggest heart of this pairing.

Sandy is not Macaque's therapist, but someone who has likely gone through similar trauma, and a violently, anger-fueled past. Both were absolutely merciless against their enemies, and have had days where the only person that could look out for them at their weakest moments were just themselves. Always looking out for number one.

Sandy doesn't always have to be smiling all the time or hide his own problems, true feelings, or the Rare, dark thought if something terrible from the past comes back to him in spades. At times, I feel he's the type that might have the habit of burying his feelings if it's not urgent. Macaque can absolutely feel safe and respected but he can also just as well understand Sandy back if given enough trust and time in their friendship. And if it really goes well, and it becomes something more -- one day, he's running into Sandy's arms and the latter just encompasses him in a safe, warm hug. Him feeling completely secure in a new, refreshing start-- with someone who was just as angry, hurt, maybe even despised, but absolutely compassionate of his past mistakes and feelings. They both may have done things they regret, and caused them equal exchange of pain and suffering, but now they have someone by their side who is going through -- or has had a head start -- on that same pathway.

Both are equally on an unending journey of healing and improvement. So it's not just necessarily "Sandy > Macaque"; not one side fixing all of the other's problems. But someone who's willing to share his acquired wisdom and help out as much as he can-- to which Sandy is starkly aware how easier the process is when you weren't alone.

This is more of a sketch/art blog, with a side of brainrot rambling of story/AU ideas all over. So.. kinda imagine an "art" journal with original posts as the main focus.
