Good Arceus, taking care of the Dusknoir fiasco was a lot more scarier than Angie anticipated. She tried to put up a brave face when dealing with it, especially in front of her new found crush friend, Lucas. But alas, the next thing she knew, her life was in danger of being taken to the spirt world, and despite she said she was willing to be sacrificed– she’s really, really glad that didn’t have to be the case.
So now, there she stands, back at the daycare after saying goodbye to the trio she grew fond of over time– it hurted her a bit having to say goodbye to her new found friends. Even if they were, just a little weird. It’s welcoming, to say the least.
Angie was cleaning the egg case for a particular pokemon. She tried to call the trainer and ask if they want the egg, but they were promptly declined. She sighs– sure, she can just take care of the pokemon once its born into the daycare, but she can’t help but find it abhorrent some trainers don’t want the eggs of their pokemon.
“Huh–?” She was broken from thought, her hand stopping itself from wiping the incubator once more.
“Oh, it’s jus’ you.” She remembers him, he helped out in the school and helped the trio when trouble arose. He has her thanks for that, at most.
“This lil’ guy?” Her head directs back to the egg, her fingers tapping on the lad.
“It was supposed ta’ be for a trainer, their pokemom bred in the daycare… y’know how it is. I actually called ta’ trainer if they wanted them, but they said no. So, now, it’s for the daycare, I guess.”
That was definitely a shocking thing to hear. Someone had just left the egg behind? Even to Paul, who had admittedly done some regrettable things in his past regarding Pokémon he deemed unfit for his training style, abandoning an unborn Pokémon felt excessive. The pattern was one he didn’t recognize as a Pokémon from Sinnoh. The young man examined it closely nonetheless. He had an alternative solution, but it depended on how Angie felt.
“Well, if they didn’t want it, maybe I could take it off your hands. I’m still not entirely sure what rules there are for your family’s business, but I’ve seen my brother take care of eggs before, and the experience may serve me well.”
A cocky smile spread on his face, just as another thought occurred to him.
“And besides, the end result could be a powerful Pokémon that may help me put Dawn in her place.”
That last part was obviously a joke, but the prospect of raising something incredibly powerful was very intriguing to him.
