Lucien is the youngest male in the main cast of this series and he’s also the only male who pretty regularly (though not always) displays any emotional maturity and intelligence.

He also seems to be the one y’all have the most problems with interestingly.

Lucien is one of those friends who will absolutely make fun of you (lovingly of course) but also be there for you when you really need a friend. In canon texts he's witty and sarcastic and when you need him to be, he can be gentle and soft. I don't believe things he's done are out of malice. I don't believe he has a malicious bone in his body.

I just read that there is a theory that he said he can’t hear Elain’s heartbeat when she asked because of when he told Feyre about hearing Jesminda’s heartbeat stop beating and it’s a trauma response for him to block out heartbeats.

Can we please also talk about maybe one of the reasons Lucien isn’t more forward with Elain yet is literally because his life is so unstable, he doesn’t REALLY have a home, his family is super dangerous and STILL out to get him, his previous court hates him, he thinks hes a nobody…

He probably doesn’t think he has anything to offer to her, and it makes me so soft, because all she needs is his warmth 😭

I’ve been thinking a lot about the “easy” scene between Cassian and Lucien towards the beginning of Silver Flames. We know that sometimes High Lord heirs do get High Lord markers before their predecessors die but being able to “command” fae (especially fae from a court you have no command over) seems a powerful one for just an heir to have at his disposal.

And Lucien does it so flippantly and easily too. Like he dominated an Illyrian general known as “the Prince of Bloodshed” who is much older than Lucien and who is known for his strength and Lucien was essentially like “down boy” and Cassian went “woof” without any hesitation or questioning what he was doing.

You really can’t tell me that

A) Lucien knew exactly what he was doing and did it on purpose

B) Lucien isn’t going to be an extremely powerful player in the overall plot.

Azriel’s my main bat and I’m primarily a gwynriel but if i ever heard a man say ‘I’m a mated male now’ when offered a secret, sexual tryst with ? I’d drop everything, every stupid crush and march to kill for him. Will always choose a Lucien who respects your boundaries yet can’t help but to consistently check up on you now and then albeit from a distance, over anyone. I’m sure if Elain said she’d kissed Azriel, how much ever his primal instincts tore into him or how much ever it shattered him, Lucien would respect Elain’s choice and leave her be. I know Lucien would never invoke the Blood Duel the moment he said he’d ask Rhys for tips on how he survived knowing that Feyre was in love with another man and was sharing his bed. Men with such unhinged loyalty and passion are always a rarity ❤️

go through your own set of exercises (it's educational, so that the Valkyries can see the correct form. Take the top off??? So that can see the movement better. No other reasons)

I sometimes like to think about just how powerful Elain and Lucien will be together—not just with romantics, but their abilities. Elain, who has the power of Sight, and Lucien, who is able to see straight through glamours and magic and is a Spell-Cleaver. Together, they are virtually unstoppable; they cannot be cursed, they will always be two steps ahead of everyone, and it would be almost impossible to trick them. That is not even including any potential abilities that Elain will develop/has already, plus Lucien’s fire and other acquired powers.

The knowledge of the land, of the Earth. Diplomacy and court training, not even mentioning the ability to charm and gather intel through common conversation. Their hobbies and interests align so fluidly. A literal power couple.
