She wondered if they thought that they were subtle. Everyone knew that Nyx and Gwyn were dating by now, and it wasn’t that she was against it. On the contrary, Crowe was happy for her friends at best and glad that she didn’t have to deal with Nyx pining after her fellow mage at worst. She did not, however, appreciate Gwyn being so distracted during training now that the dynamic had clearly changed. Ever since Gwyn had arrived and joined their unit, she’d gotten used to Nyx gazing after her, but the looks the two had been exchanging all morning were vomit inducing. “I’m super stoked that you’re getting laid and all now.” Crowe announced as she and Gwyn began walking back from the training pit towards the mages’ locker rooms. “But if you don’t stop looking at Nyx like he’s the seventh Astral, I’m going to set myself on fire.” Pausing for a moment, she sighed when she remembered that this was Gwyn she was talking to. And she really was glad for them both. Deep down, somewhere very far beneath the layers of being irritated that Gwyn wasn’t focusing and tired of Nyx talking about her like a lovesick puppy, she was happy that two good people had found each other and had something happy in their warworn lives. She glanced up at the taller woman and flashed the tiniest of smiles, little more than a twitch at the corners of her lips. “I’m guessing he hasn’t fucked it up yet or anything then?”

a bright flush colored gwyn’s cheeks at crowe’s implication, faint pink tinging her ears, teeth worrying at the inside of her cheek. was that what crowe thought they were doing? fates, gwyn and nyx had just barely kissed. they were taking this all slowly, gwyn having been a virgin her whole life until the attack on sangravah. it’d taken this long for gwyn to even be okay with nyx’s hand in her own and she knew he didn’t mean her any harm. and nyx.... well she wasn’t sure if he was taking it as slowly because she was or if it was for his own reasons. either way, she was grateful. he was easy to be around and kind. behind the intimidating outside appearance he was even sweet, a secret gwyn delighted in knowing. “I’m sorry,” she murmured. it had to be weird for crowe, feeling alittle bit like a third wheel these days, her two closest friends now dating. now having a relationship separate of her. gwyn could only imagine what it would be like if nesta and emerie had something like that. “I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable. or want to set yourself on fire....” crowe’s smile was an olive branch, gwyn flashing her one back. eyes lit up at the opportunity to talk about nyx, but she remembered crowe’s immolation comment and caught herself. “no. he hasn’t fucked it up.” far from it. “I think he’d have to try very hard to do that.” gywn cleared her throat. “but enough about him. I want to hear about you. what have you been up to other than training this past week?”

It really was miraculous- the way that he could completely forget himself and the rest of the world when he was with her. There were a million things that Lucien always had to be thinking of and worrying about and a million more that he thought and worried about regardless of whether they were his responsibility or not. Somehow though, when it was just him and Feyre, his mind was quiet. Everything was calm, from the dull, satisfied ache in his muscles to the steady sound of her breathing. 

He couldn’t even remember how long it had been since he’d swept her off of the bed and carried her over to the bath, settling his back against the edge of it with one arm extending along the porcelain and the other draped loosely around his partner’s shoulders where she was relaxing against his chest. The rise and fall of her own chest beneath his arm was enough to lull him to near sleep. Paired with the exhaustion after they’d spent hours exerting themselves so blissfully, he kept having to bring himself back from the edge of unconsciousness. He wanted to savor this. There were few moments that were so delightfully peaceful. So, every time the water began to cool, he dipped his fingertips into the water and sent Autumn Court fire into it to warm it again before resuming his hold on the woman between his legs. He’d extend this as long as he could.

In a few hours, they’d have to greet the day as the High Lord and Lady of the Day Court again. They’d both fallen into the roles rather comfortably, but there were still certain duties that that came with them. Right now though, he was just Lucien, and she was just Feyre. That Lucien was the one who couldn’t help but smirk when he heard a small hiss as she shifted her legs. “Sore?” He teased. “My lady, what ever have you been doing?” Of course, he knew full well what had left her sore. It was exactly what had left him rather exhausted. And he’d happily do it again.

Shifting his hand from where it had been dangling over the edge of the tub, he used it to brush her hair away from her shoulder so he could dip his head down and press a lingering kiss to her neck. “You should be more careful. It’d be a shame if anything happened to this body.” He breathed against her skin. “I can’t begin to tell you how fond of it I am.”
