dangerprone--daphne:
“Do you think that he’ll ever see me as anything more than just a pretty face?” The girl’s smile dropped, her eyes going to her friend. She hadn’t really spoken about her true feelings on the subject but it was starting to hurt more than she thought. “You really think so? Then why does it feel like I’m just like the extra. You’re the smart one, Fred thinks of the traps, Shaggy and Scooby are the decoys… Then there’s just me.” She exhaled heavily. Daphne tried to shake the negativity from her head and keep her thoughts on the cake. “Yeah, that’s what we’ll do.”
Velma resists the urge to roll their eyes. “You don’t need his approval to know you are more than just a pretty face. Anyone with eyes can see that!” Velma could not stand the thought of someone making someone else feel worthless just because they were dumber than bricks. “Daphne, you are all of those things combined. Haven’t you noticed not only can you come up with good traps yourself, but you are smart and can easily slip into the decoy role. You keep us all together.” Looking back at the cake, Velma gives their friend a small smile. “See? Great idea by Daphne.”
