you’re not slow!! sometimes I get carried away and should probably clarify-

the idea behind simon’s tattoos was that they were dedicated to details/reminders of you. your “finger print, your favorite flower, kiss mark” etc.

i excluded him getting a portrait tattoo of you bc i personally don’t think he would. maybe a blackout tattoo of your silhouette, but nothing extremely identical. partly because the replication would not stand up to the real thing, and the more significant reason being safety. god forbid he ever gets captured and they see your face plastered on his thigh.

i think the vagueness of the tattoos also appeals to him because it’s an “ego boost”. like he knows you better than anyone, knows you more than he’s ever allowed himself to know another, that he can look at a featureless tattoo and imagine you with clarity. idk deep in my heart I feel like he’s a sappy poet. but like, begrudgingly.
