How many of you have a set location outdoors that has kind of become a studio to you. Have you tested your creativity to see just how you can maximize your art in a single spot? Itās like the classic white backdrop. How do you create something new and unique each time you repeat the same location. Iād love to here your stories. Another shoot in Orlando and yet again I have been asked to leave a location by the police. It is crazy to me how having a camera changes the dynamic of where you are in a space in close contact with others. Has anyone else experienced this lately? UPDATE follows: For the past year I have kind of been working the social media angle for self discovery and technique. That said one would think I would have drastically bumped up my game on my own account but sadly that is not true. I have been doing Social Media Producing for another account in @visitcolumbia called @themuletowner and most recently I added Social Media Consulting to my portfolio with the PBS show @reconnectingrootstv These two accounts have really opened my eyes to the inner workings of real social events and given me a way better understanding of what @velvetlip was missing. So, some have noticed I removed my iPhone only listing (thanks to @jeremycowart and @liminalsociety ) and I will soon start adding my DSLR work which makes up 90% of my work anyway to this feed. Many donāt know but cross processing and alternative techniques and technologies were the foundation of my career back in late 1980ās so I will start digging in the vaults and bring out my fossils for all to see. With that said todayās new thing for me is augmented portraits. Has anyone else been doing these? I really love finding crazy locations and portraits to match together. I love computer screens for creative accidents and using the iPhone as my camera to further my options in camera is a bonus. Who else shoots screens for creative effects? (at Orlando, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9moIHFHw0F/?igshid=k66808fw3fjm
Portrait mode is for sure a unique choice with the iPhone these days. I myself have been shooting below f.1.2 for over 30 years now and honestly am not a fan of the word Bokeh in the description of my style of portraiture. That said the ability to create unique depth of effects with the modes offers up perfect options for creative accidents. Who elseās tricking the software for art? Dropping a color photo for the first time in awhile. Iām not sure why but atm Iām all in in B&W. Anyone else feeling a bit nostalgic for some film noir or is it just me? (at Orlando, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/B564KH7HrSh/?igshid=ag034u3ku2to
Third times a charm! What a wonderful time I had working with this awesome young talent over the holidays. So many fun shots I canāt decide my edit. I think I can say it now āI am an image hoarderā! Help!š (at Orlando, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5rASA1n39f/?igshid=mn22bl6hz2tz
Yikes! One of the interesting things about being a Social Media Producer for another company is the fact that you deep dive into other worlds of social strategy other than your own and you so want it to be all badasserie with your fingerprints on it that you can forget your own creative outlet. I wonder how many of us manage 2 or more Instagram accounts on top of all the other outlets for SM? If so, do you get burned out digging into feeds to connect with potential new followers on multiple accounts? I am interested! Let me know if you have a second. (at Orlando, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5BkKl5HGE2/?igshid=3pccvz7x9htb
Is anybody out there as annoyed as I am with all the good photo apps going subscription? Have they learned nothing from streaming apps? We all will be forced to choose just a few apps now thus limiting the actual total amount of artist creativity we are given with the a le carte system we have seen for years. One interesting thing is in video streaming services as a comparison with them the market moves towards piracy as a way to still consume the product. So the more pay options the more you pirate but with Apple this will not be an option at all or at least I donāt know of one. That said, who do you think wins the war of subscription apps? I myself own hundreds of apps but I subscribe to none. I want to decide if your newest filter is worth a $1 or $4 for that matter. But, the choice is mine! I really would love hear more opinions on this subject. Please let me know what you all feel about subscription based apps.
