𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑: @venialvices (luther hargreeves)
𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃 that trickled past, came the reminder that Five had been unsuccessful in trying to make sense of where he was, of what went wrong. It also felt like the chance of undoing this mess was slipping away from him. He’d have better luck trying to catch smoke with his bare hands. It doesn’t help that he was once again subjected to a scrawny body that wore clothes a size too big for him, and judging by his vision that begun to sway under the height of the Australian sun, he would think it’s safe to add, also malnourished. He’s leaning up against the random building beside him for support–and that’s when he saw it, eyes growing wide. Luther. Who–appeared to be up on a ladder to–what? Save a cat? You’ve got to be kidding him. Not even bothering to try and teleport, especially after their time travel fiasco, he marched across the street, ignoring the car that was forced to slow down because of him and stopped directly next to the other’s ladder. “Where the HELL have you been?”
Just another day, hard at work protecting every living soul in Sydney from whatever dangers might lie out there in the world. On this particular afternoon the victim had been a poor defenseless cat who shimmied their way far too high up a tree. The residence had told them that the thing had been crying up there for two days straight. By the time Luther started scaling down the ladder with the poor weak and frightened thing wrapped in a tight blanket cradled in his arm he caught glimpse of a child before they piped up.
“Is this your ca-” He hadn’t even finished his sentence before the boy cursed at him. Yeah, the kid cursed at him, which was definitely not the sort of treatment he was used to. After hopping down from the last few steps he gave the kid a quick scan from head to toe. He looked worse than the starving cat in his arms.
“Yeah, I’m not sure who you have me confused with, kid, but I’m sorry.” That said he tried to brush off the child and headed back towards the truck to open a tin of wet food he had brought along. Believe it or not cats got stuck in trees a lot more often than you might think and typically they were hungry when they came down.
