@venice-dailey
"Hey, um, what exactly are you doing?"
"I uhm… I’m not feeling good so if you want to hang out, we can. I’ll try to feel better."
I actually was just was - okay, I guess being social would please the doctors around here.
Are you announcing that you're not the maid or calling me not the maid?
Vincent took a little step closer to her seeing that she was utterly freaked out by his sudden presence. He frowned a little when she asked if he was real. Of course, she was probably thinking that he is a ghost or something. He smiled reassuringly at her. “I am real, I promise.” When she asked for proof he didn’t know what to show her, but then he remember his employee ID card, so he took it out of his wallet and carefully held it out to her so that she can take it. “There is some proof, the other is that my office is just down stairs”
The frown that had appeared across the man's features was hard to not notice. It suddenly became apparent that the question must have upset him but she had to ask; what if he were a ghost? Taking a small step back, still a bit paranoid by his sudden appearance Venice tried to force the fear from her features. If we was in fact a doctor at this facility then he might give word to the psychiatrist about what they may think is an episode. "I'm not crazy." She muttered under her breath; frustrated at the thought of the new diagnosis. As he held out the i.d, she carefully took it. "This is all the proof that I need." She said as she read over the entire card. "Thank you." her tone had signaled the fact that she was a bit calmer.
You and me both Ven. There just isn’t any spirit this year.
That word - I don't like it. Anyways, where have you been hiding these days?
It’s funny, I know exactly how you feel. It’s been that way for years, actually.
I assumed most of those who were stuck here would understand to an extent. What do you mean by years?
“I don’t really blame you. Plus it’s not exactly celebrating when you’re stuck in a place like this anyway. Kind of steals away all the fun.”
At least someone agrees with my less than pleasant statement. It's not like there are decorations to even make this place more - vibrant. What is it about this place that you do not like?
I do not feel like celebrating Christmas this year - or any year.
Vincent heard someone call out when he came closer. Was he really walking that silently? He didn’t mean to scare anyone. Was he following her? He couldn’t remember doing that, he was just per chance walking in the same direction. When he made the corner he saw the fear on her face.
"I uhm… I won’t hurt you. I’m Dr. De Luca. I’m sorry if I scared you."
Staring into the darkness, she stood there patiently waiting to see if anyone were there. Lately, Venice had been feeling paranoid so part of her had expected it to be just that - her imagining things. As someone had stepped into the light; she nearly jumped. "Are you real?" She asked in a confused tone. Despite the claim of being one of the doctor's it was still difficult to trust his words. Ghosts who inhabit the house seem to be the type to lie, at least that's what she assumed from movies. "Do you have proof of being who you say you are?" She finally managed to ask. The question was ridiculous but it never hurt to be careful.
"Hello?" Venice had called out after hearing footsteps behind her as she walked down a hallway. Stopping in her tracks, she turned around and stared out at the darkness in front of her. "Whoever it is, please stop following me." She said, her voice a little shaky. "Don't hurt me." She muttered under her breath afraid of who could be there.

↳ WE ALL HAVE A STORY:
March 14th, 1997 — Present
Some could say that Venice lived a fairly average life when growing up. She was raised as an only child by her mother and father in the state of Arizona. The girl was a socialite at heart. She made friends easily, and although she did not have many, the ones that she did were very close to her. The boys always thought she was rather attractive, yet she had never paid much attention to them. To her, school was more important than having a relationship anyway. Making her parents proud was one of her main goals in life, seeing that it would make them happy. Doing this had become even more important after her father had fallen ill with pneumonia, discovering it at a late and fatal stage. At that point in her life, her mother unintentionally started to neglect the young girl due to the fact that she had to care and attend to her father. This caused Venice to feel helpless and inched her closer and closer to a depression. She stopped spending time with her friends and directed it toward her academics, doing whatever she could to get her mother’s attention back. This failed however, once her father could not hold on any longer and passed away in the mid-Winter season. Feeling lost because of his death, her mother began to shut herself in, and rarely spoke to anyone, including her own daughter.
The roles quickly repeated themselves with Venice then looking after her mother. She had not taken her husband’s death well, and chose to stop caring altogether. She didn’t get up to bathe, or eat, and always stayed up during the late hours, simply crying. The now twenty-one year old did whatever she could to make sure her mother stayed healthy, even if the woman showed no signs of appreciation. It pained her, because she felt as if she not only lost her father, but her mother as well. She may as well not have been there. She never acknowledged Venice, and when she did, it was always just under five words. One day when coming home from school, she noticed that the house had been more silent than usual. It was a strange feeling. Normally, she could hear the sound of her mother in tears, or at least the television as background noise, but it had been dead silent. She quickly made her way upstairs to check on her mother, only to discover that she had put a bullet in her head. The girl could not handle anymore pain and sorrow. The overwhelming feeling hit her so suddenly, she lost all control. She herself was now following her mother’s footsteps and fell into a deep depression. She often considered ending her life the same way, but before she was able to, her aunt took her into her life in California to receive treatment at the hospital that had been referred to as The Murder House.
Since then, Venice has been healing slowly, but surely. She still has trouble with her depression, as she often thinks about her parents, but is attempting to be optimistic about it all. However, she soon learned that after her arrival at the hospital, that it had been haunted. At first, she believed them to be hallucinations, but once the word got around to her from other patients that they were ghosts, she had become thrown over with fear. The fact that it was true began to twist her mind, making her lash out impulsively. After her behavior change, the doctors soon diagnosed her with not only depression, but schizophrenia.
↳ DON'T BE SURPRISED, WHEN THEY'RE:
Venice is a sweet girl who cares more about others than herself. She aims to make people proud of her because she fears that if they aren’t, they’ll stop caring just like her mother had. She tries to be caring and sensitive to others, however, the newly added diagnosis she has holds her back from functioning normally. She is easily scared, and finds it difficult to trust people, yet all she wants to do is have someone around who can keep her sane
↳ THEY'RE ALL CONNECTED:
ELIAS RHEE→ Some say that opposites attract, but in the case of Eli and Venice, it couldn’t be more wrong. She was drawn to him because of the fact that they share the same diagnosis, and the fact that he cares about her more than himself. Eli has become her safe haven and ultimately keeps her from going over the edge. She feels calmest when he is around but is unsure of how to feel about letting herself become closer to him due to the fact that he killed his own father.
MATTHEW JOHNSON→ The two have become extremely close, regardless of the fact that he himself is a ghost. This is because Matthew chooses not to inform her of this, feeling as though if he does, she’ll react negatively toward him. Aside from that, the two are nearly inseparable, always acting like siblings, rather than friends. They bicker constantly, but usually end up laughing it off in the end.
COLE SALVATORE→ Cole had been the first ghost that Venice had come to notice. Although their first encounter wasn’t exactly the best, seeing that she threw a glass cup at this head, he has still made several attempts to talk to her. She still doesn’t feel comfortable enough to let him in, but has in a sense, befriended him. Cole only wants to help her get over her fear of the ghosts; He has tried several times to inform her that they’re not all out to get her, and he does his best to keep her safe.
