So question for the other LGBTQ+ cuties out there. I came out recently to my conservative family, it didn’t go awful but it wasn’t great.
( No regrets however because openly talking about my partner is SO WORTH IT!! My partner has been incredibly supportive of my journey coming out and helped so much)
My question is: Do any of you have advice on how to help handle the post coming out stress ( for lack of a better term) ? I can’t tell if family/friends questions are in attempt to be supportive or just judgmental. It’s very confusing and overwhelming at times. Cutting them off isn’t an option due to my financial situation. It also seem drastic when I can’t tell their intentions behind questions. I can’t tell when I’m being over sensitive to what might be them making efforts to educate themselves and be supportive or if they’re just mocking me.
Sincerely, overwhelmed baby gay 🥺
