The Nakshatras as Evil Ahh Politicians Part 6: JYESHTA, THE BETRAYER
I was surprised at how clustered the results of my most recent poll were. Jyeshta nakshatra alone dominated with 30% of the vote. Almost one-third of y'all wanted to read about this nakshatra and how it manifests in evil ass politicians. And I have delivered.
This lunar mansion is located between 16.40 to 30.00 degrees of Scorpio. It is ruled over by the King of the Gods, Indra, in Hindu mythology. The Hindu God of Thunder, Lightning and Rain, lording over the Heavens as its King. Indra is the one who defeated the asura Vritra, slaying him with his thunderbolt and allowing for the arrival of monsoon rains, which helped with agriculture. This story is often used to symbolize order prevailing over chaos, according to sources such as Britannica Encyclopaedia.
Fittingly, the nakshatra's symbols include an umbrella, a metaphor for warding off evils and the amulet, a method of spiritual protection from malevolent beings.
Another deity associated with this nakshatra is Alakshmi, also known by this nakshatra's namesake---Jyeshta. the Hindu Goddess of misfortune, poverty and scarcity, bringing jealousy and conflict wherever she went. The elder sister of Lakshmi, it is said that she resides wherever Lakshmi travels to. Jyeshta is depicted as ugly, old and miserable.
The name Jyeshta means "the eldest", "the most excellent one", "the preeminent one". Its shakti (power) is Arohana Shakti, the power to rise, conquer and gain courage in battle, through attack and defense, in order to become a hero ["The Shaktis of the Nakshatras," American Institute of Vedic Studies].
Clearly, these are not easy themes to handle in life. Not by a long shot.
It's interesting to see this juxtaposition between misfortune and extreme power all within one lunar mansion. In the case of an evil ass politician, we all know which side dominates more among Jyeshta natives of this group. The natives of this nakshatra, especially the Moon which rules over the mind (manas), are prone to harboring an exploitative, dog-eats-dog mindset, where everyone could be a potential enemy and to prioritize their own whims over those of their constituents.
Jyeshta evil ass politicians often end up in situations where power is highly contested and stability is interrupted or not prevalent. They thrive in this swamp of challenges brought before them. All of the evils available in this world, this type of evil politician will rejoice in. Starting off with one of the most famous examples of betrayal, is Benedict Arnold, who likely had Moon in Jyeshta:

Jyeshta evil-ass politicians end up in the position of losing conflicts by betraying literally everyone around them.
A particularly vicious example of this is what happened to King Charles I of Great Britain and Ireland, who had Sun in Jyeshta:
Ascending to the English throne in 1612 after the death of his brother, Charles I's entire reign was controversial and filled to the brim with conflict, which tends to be how Jyeshta politicians operate once they enter powerful offices such as that of a monarchy.
Obsessed with the idea of divine right and a spendthrift, he significantly increased the debt owed by the Crown, along with his unpopular policies on matters such as religion, when he broke off an engagement with the Infanta of Spain, a Catholic, made him despised by a large portion of his constituents.
He constantly fought with Parliament throughout his reign, their relationship at best tense and at worst fatal. He decided, in March of 1629, to dismiss Parliament and rule without it for eleven years. While this was not his most unpopular decision, his shady methods of gathering income for the Crown [read: forced loans aka taxes without Parliament's consent] and choice of advisers, lowered his popularity even further.
He betrayed his own citizens by starting a war against the British Parliament first, and then by secretly signing a treaty with Scotland, who would invade England and reinstate him as its monarch.
In the end, his quest to maintain power only resulted in his execution by the hands of the very parliament he despised for most of his life.
This "betrayer" archetype continues on to even the modern day, in politicians such as the notorious Donald Trump, who has Moon in Jyeshta:
The current President of the United States of America, Donald Trump's political decisions have resulted in increased polarization and instability among America's political system. It's very Alakshmi-coded.
Trump has been known for his opportunistic view of other people. One word of disagreement, no matter how minor it may be, and he will drop an ally like a hot potato onto the ground to be crushed.
A great example of this is his treatment of his former VP, Mike Pence, who fell out over the January 6th raid on the Capitol. Other examples of allies he has thrown out when he no longer needed him include Elon Musk [twitter feud to end all twitter feuds], Giorgia Meloni, Cassidy Hutchinson, etc. He even betrayed his own campaign promises in search of elusive power [narcissistic grandeur] by starting a war in Iran and enforcing broad tariffs which have raised prices all across the country.
What all three of these politicians share is the path of systemic corruption, entirely based on their obsession with personal ambition and greed.
In short: never trust a Jyeshta politician. They will lie like it's drinking water.
I've noticed that Jyeshta authors are particularly great at storytelling, such as Suzanne Collins, Gege Akutami, and Stephen King, who all have Moon in this asterism.
Creative Writing is one of those artistic professions where an author's moon nakshatra tends to be fucking obvious in the stories they write about. Like all three of these creators above are known for gratuitously killing off their characters.
In both The Matrix and The Truman Show, a Jyeshta woman is the one who helps the main character “wake up” from the false, illusionary “reality” he was forcefully placed in by higher powers from a young age. The Nakshatras as Evil Ahh Politicians PART 9: PURVA PHALGUNI, THE GLORYHOUND
Sitting in the heart of sidereal Leo is one especially egotistical lunar mansion: Purva Phalguni.
Located between 13.20 to 26.40 degrees of Leo, Purva Phalguni's name means "The Former Reddish One" or in some translations, "The First Fig Tree." Red harkens back to Rohini nakshatra, which is often referred to as the Red One; this ties together the two nakshatras on a thematic level. Both Purva Phalguni and Rohini are extremely creative and indulgent on the material world. The color Red is used to symbolize passion, love, romance, and anger; these are all traits this nakshatra bestows an excess of upon its natives. Sometimes to an unhealthy, destructive level----which is where evil ahh politicians come in.
Ruled by the deity Bhaga, the Vedic God of Wealth, Marital Bliss and Prosperity, he is one of the twelve Adityas, along with Varuna (Shatabhisha), Mitra (Anuradha), Savitr (Hasta), Pushan (Revati), Tvashtar (Chitra), Aryaman (Uttara Phalguni), Indra (Jyeshtha) and Vishnu (Shravana). In a modern world, evil ahh politicians of this asterism care way too much about their progeny. Offspring. The cishet men of this asterism, in particular, love to spread their seeds around once they gain significant portions of political power.
A great example of this is Elon Musk, who has Moon in Purva Phalguni:
A staunch pronatalist, he views the decline in birth rates (especially among white people) as a threat to humanity; greater than the threat of climate change. However, he is known for a utilitarian approach with his children, some of whom have grown estranged and publicly call him out on his own fart-smelling antics.

Y'all know that stereotype of the hedonistic, indulgent King with too much wealth to spill? Yeah, that is a Purva Phalguni archetype. Dressed in gold and silver, the Venetian ambassador Sebastian Giustinian described him as 'the best-dressed sovereign in the world: his robes are the richest and most superb that can be imagined.' Unsurprisingly enough, a significant portion of his wealth was built upon the destruction and closure of monasteries across England. The guy who titled himself 'The Sun King' having domicile Sun in Leo...just. I-damn, sometimes astrology really is that direct.
King Louis XIV of France had the longest reign of any European monarch. I might write a more in-depth article on him because he is an extremely interesting historical figure to discuss (and I don't think that Versailles show was able to capture the sheer charisma he had irl).
But he was an awful person. We often hear about his patronage of the arts and how he centralized the French state, dalliances with mistresses, and subduing the influence of the nobles by forcing them to suck up to his ass in Versailles, his gloryhound tendencies are not mentioned as much. Probably because it makes people feel uncomfortable that he was a literal colonialist.

As a result, he spent copious amounts of money into starting wars, many of which resulted in minor victories at best and failures at worst. By the end of his reign, his pursuit of glory had nearly bankrupted France.
It did not help that he was a total asshole to the lower classes. His revocation of the Edict of Nantes resulted in the persecution of French Protestants; one-third of whom emigrated from France to escape persecution. According to the University of Kentucky, "Louis XIV distrusted the lower classes, viewing them as a potential source of disorder. He created large hospices where beggars, orphans, criminals, and the insane were forcibly locked up under tight supervision."
A modern-day 'gloryhound' figure of this Purva Phalguni archetype, is none other than....former U.S. President, Lyndon B. Johnson, who likely had Moon in Purva Phalguni:
