HUMAN PHANTOM TRY ON

Genuinely one of the most beautiful costumes I’ve ever made — insane considering it’s 100% made from recycled fabric scraps (which is why, if we comment on the inside, it’s basically a patchwork mosaic of random materials).

For the first time, I experimented with “slashing,” a technique where you layer different fabrics on top of each other, sew them together with parallel lines, and then cut through the top layers to reveal the fabrics underneath, creating a frayed 3D effect. Did I hate doing it? Absolutely, with a passion. Was it worth it? Also yes.

Obviously my favorite part was aging the fabric (even though working with that liquid organza was terrible it was almost a shame to weather it) and tie-dyeing it to give it that moldy little effect that matches the Bilgewater vibes perfectly…

In my free time I hand-sewed all the draping and details and — boom — dress done.

I love the little cameo/reference to Lace with her lace details (dyed greenish or gray), and honestly, considering how much it resembles the design of my cosplay model, I deserve to applaud myself.

COSTUME FUN FACTS:

- The entire costume is inspired by the aesthetic of Bilewater, and I wanted to emphasize the concept of a “discarded sister” and “rotted flesh” with tie-dye tones inspired by mold.

- The design of the dress bodice is similar to my Lace cosplay one, since they are “sisters.”

- The weapon has hand-painted rust details.

- The wig includes tiny internal structures to give it an anti-gravity effect and resemble Phantom’s in-game head shape
