I have not made rendered art for fun for months, so I was really happy making this and even more happy with how it turned out! ;O; ♥

Updates on the Monoma Archive + Ask Box!

Hello everyone! Apologies for the inactivity, my days have been spent rewatching the MHA anime for the Monoma Archive. Expect the archive to be released when I've finished watching the anime and reading the main series manga. Some exciting news though, I have found multiple anime storyboards, the original card and skill names for all of Monoma's cards, and fullbody 3D model renders for his PE uniform and winter outfit in Smash Tap! Hopefully one day I'll be able to archive the merchandise made with Smash Tap's artwork, its obscurity has made it a pain to search for.

For the time being, so I may continue my analysis content, please feel free to ask me about my thoughts on anything Monoma related/send in scenes you'd like me to talk about/analyse! Let's start a discussion!

Note: Some aspects of this design are based on my headcanon that Monoma's quirk awakening allowed him to copy quirks via DNA. Even if you don't share this headcanon, I hope you still enjoy it!

Chapter 429 (RAW) Spoiler Warning!

Regarding Monoma:

THE SCANS!!! THE SCANS!!! BRING IN THE REQUIRED PARADE TO WELCOME THE BOY BACK FROM HIS STRETCHER MOMENT!!! BRING IN THE SPARKLING GRAPE JUICE!!! THIS IS A TIME FOR CELEBRATION!!!

We Monoma fans have 2 things to rejoice about!

Monoma's alive and looks to have undergone a full recovery! No visible scars. The unhinged pretty boy kept his looks and his spine seems as flexible as ever! A win for the Monoma fandom! Still, let us huddle together and theorize why the stretcher scene looked so bad. His face did not look very full recovery-like at all. (Though that may just have been his bleeding nose, that impact looked like it HURT.)

He has a permanent statue at U.A. now. Neito "People told me I cant be a superhero with my quirk" Monoma has a carving of his face in the best hero school in Japan. If that isn't the greatest insult to those who discouraged your dream I don't know what is. Words can't describe how proud and happy I am for him! His reaction too! Monoma in real life is the exact opposite of the calmer expression on his statue. Peak comedy.

One last chapter to go. Even if Monoma doesn't appear in the final chapter, I'm more than content with what we got. I won't stop analyzing his character after the series ends though! Not even the end of the series will stop me!

Monoma and Tsunotori's 2nd Hero Work Study

I was revisiting old Monoma content, and I saw this painful panel:

TELL US WHO THEY INTERNED UNDER!!! THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!!

Though on the bright side, this leaves us with room to theorize. Having Monoma and Pony together is a hard thing to work around, but out of fanaticism I think I may have found a possible pro hero- Gunhead.

From Monoma's perspective, Gunhead helps him with his physical weakpoints. Monoma has a insanely low power stat of 1/5 and 1/6 in the Ultra Archive and Analysis books. Seeing how Gunhead was able to assist Uraraka with the same issue by teaching her Gunhead Martial Arts, I can absolutely see him doing the same with Monoma. (Though Monoma would have a rougher learning experience without a quirk to strengthen his technique) Think of the silly Horikoshi sketch of him and Uraraka. You can't tell me he didn't get recommendations/overhear her during his daily digging up dirt on 1-A sessions.

From Tsunotori's perspective, we can see in the Joint Training arc that her quirk is better suited for mobility. Her horns seemed to be fragile during her fight with Shoji, and it's reasonable to assume that she'd get restrained/run out of horns eventually against a trained strength-type quirk user unless she's able to catch them off guard. Gunhead's Gatling quirk allows him to create claws out of keratin to shoot off, just like Tsunotori's horns. He'd be able to connect with Tsunotori and tell her what he learnt from the pros and cons of his. It's the perfect mentor-mentee relationship!

Please more Monoma and Tsunotori content. I'd do anything for a spin-off where these two develop violent tendencies.

MHA CHAPTER 416 SPOILER WARNING!!!

I have been so obsessed with Monoma's last appearance in chapter 416. I've returned to this chapter at least 5 times.

Not only is it painful to see Monoma (a usually confident and energetic guy) lying in such a vulnerable position on the stretcher, but we see Manga with him. Monoma's fellow classmate, also half-alive, begging him to live on. It's such a small panel, but making the person with him a 1B student instead of just another pro hero/background character is such a nice addition.

It makes me so happy to see the relationship between Monoma and his 1B classmates outside of the light novels, but it hurt since we're only seeing this when Monoma's injured. In the main series, we barely if not never see anything that shows the relationship between Monoma and his classmates (It's largely just them telling Monoma he's bothering 1A). Even in the light novels, the respect and love 1B has towards Monoma is written but unsaid in dialogue/said when he is away. So I am so grateful we're finally getting dialogue on Monoma's (positive) peer relationships, albeit small, from here.

(This turned out longer than I expected. I just wanted to talk about Monoma and friends. Tune in next week for me talking about Monoma in a stretcher + how it shows his character growth ...or something.)
