             Milagro stared at the door of her brother's apartment.              She twisted the Green Lantern ring nervously around              her finger. She has not seen him since the weapon had              come to her. The new hero has a feeling her two months              of radio silence was not going to be very well handled.

                                                                   It took a couple of minutes to work up the courage                                                                    to actually knock on the door. The new lantern shifted                                                                    from foot to foot as she waited for the door to open.

                                                 "Hola, nerd."

He took her hand and gave it a friendly shake. “Nice to meet you, Reyes.”

The older Lantern couldn’t help the small smile on his face. Its just that Hal couldn’t help the memories of his recruit days flooding back into this head. The nervous and all. There were some rough days back then, especially when there weren’t any other human Lanterns around then. But he managed, and she looked like she could handle herself, with the right kind of training, of course.

"Yeah, there wasn’t always a lot of us here, but I guess you could understand why." Hal nodded off to gesture at all the bigger and tougher looking aliens. "We humans don’t look like much out here, huh?"

           The recruit nodded, handshakes. Yeah, she was an adult             doing adult things now like shaking hands. How did Jaime             do these things all of the time? Was it because he was the             Blue Beetle, what if everyone hated her?

                                  "Uh...                                        Yeah. It's nice to meet you too."

                       It was not the first time that she had ever met a human                        Green Lantern, but all the aliens were slightly...                                                                   Overwhelming.

                                               "No we don't...But doesn't the ring like                                                run off will power though? I'm pretty sure                                                we've got that whole stubborn you shall                                                not pass thing going on. So maybe we                                                aren't that bad."
