Boy, was that guy not normal. And not in a run of the mill probably either a wacko otaku or a secret serial killer ‘not normal’ kinda way. Not normal in the way she wasn’t normal. She could feel it, almost see it in the air the way she could sorta see those monsters’ power sometimes. But here he was in the diner, so…welp!
Volunteering herself without asking, she straightens her shoulders and walks over, pulling out her little notepad. “Hi! Welcome!” She says, putting on her customer service voice. “Can I get you anything to drink?”
‘Not normal’ is one way of putting it, considering he’s staring absently off into the distance – or the booths in the back of the diner, actually – and doesn’t notice the waitress until she starts talking to him. He looks over and smiles warmly.
“Coffee would be great, thanks,” he answers. So what if he’s a bit predictable in his tastes? At least coffee is likely to be good most of the time. More importantly, though...this girl has quite the reiatsu. It takes him a moment to place why it seems familiar. She’s fully human, but not a Quincy, and there’s a dash of Hollow somewhere in the mix. Something about it reminds him of...Kurosaki’s friend. The Fullbringer. Talk about an interesting coincidence.
“Do you want to tell me something?” He knows you do.
Crosses arms, taps fingers on elbow. Waits. He can’t read your mind, but he sure can sense your distress. You better start talking.
“Um. Well...” Very eloquent.
Fidgets. Stares at the ceiling. Realizes Bastien is still waiting. He has to say something. “So. That, uh, that Captain from the Twelfth Division. I might’ve...had a little run-in with him.”
“Askiiiiin.”
He can sense you sneaking out, buddy. And your distress. Don’t u run from the truth, Mr. Sternritter.
Uh oh. “Baaastien?”
Curses, foiled again. Operation Run from the Truth is a failure. This is what he gets for having a psychic friend and he regrets everything.
TFW the shinigami who experimented on you and tortured you for decades or more didn’t fucking die in the War. Where’s the justice?
Speaking of that, Askin’s just going to see himself out now.
No need to talk about any Captains. Nothing of relevance happened during the invasion, nothing at all.
"Yes you are. You are my chair now."
“I guess I’m a chair.”
so i’ve learned a new truth about myself and it’s that i can’t be bothered to use page codes

so, uh, let’s discuss that hole that grimmjow punched in askin and how he’s (hopefully, for the purposes of this blog) alive now. tw for gore (and some body horror) below the cut.
First off: LOOK AT THAT. Ouch.
Okay, now it’s time to get to the point of this post. The long and short of it is that Grimmjow punched a hole straight through the middle of Askin’s chest, ripped his heart out in the process, crushed his heart, and stabbed Askin again for good measure. Talk about overkill.
Yet after that, Askin is still talking? So despite being physically “dead”, he still seems to be conscious until he passes out as the Gift Ball Deluxe starts to collapse. Outside, Nel notes there are four reiatsus inside. Not counting Askin, those people are likely Urahara, Grimmjow, and the Shihōin siblings. So, uh, yeah, Askin was dead for a bit.
BUT HERE COMES THE HC FOR THIS BLOG.
Nel rescues the good guys (including Grimmjow) from the Gift Ball, it implodes and disappears. Yay, everyone is saved! Askin resuscitates shortly after, (with help or not, depending on the verse) seeing as he was functioning mostly ok sans heart beforehand. He makes his escape, but he still a) lacks a heart, and b) HAS A GIANT HOLE IN HIM.
His regeneration ability is extremely fast, but this injury was very extensive. It took around a year for it heal fully, and it was a process. His heart grew back first in a few months, piece by piece, and then the wound around it closed, taking nearly as much time. After the 10 year timeskip, he’s functioning normally, though he has a circle of scar tissue in the center of his chest (and a matching scar on his back).

greek godly parent quiz
Your godly parent is Apollo, sun charioteer, god of music, arts, poetry, archery, prophecy, truth, medicine, plagues and order.
Wow. That sounded like a diner menu didn't it? Apollo is considered to be the most powerful god on the Olympian council after the Big Three and Hera and Demeter, mainly due to all his spheres of influence. As a child of Apollo, you may exhibit one or more talents associated with the sun god. Children of Apollo are extremely talented and many know it, which can vary from charismatic confidence to narcissistic arrogance. You are open-minded, easygoing, empathetic yet logical. You have a skill in music, art, drama or language and being the child of the god of prophecies, you are sometimes very intuitive about the future. Yet, you focus more on the journey rather than the destination. You're kind, helpful and show extreme protection towards 1-2 people in your life you can't live without. When you're angered, you tend to make reckless but powerful decisions, and can make a complete U-turn in personality. You have no patience for betrayal or bullying, and can become very righteous in exacting revenge, resulting in devastation that was more than you planned for in hindsight. Despite your playful and shallow exterior, you probably spend a lot of time being very observant and perceptive about the world around you, and you show that in your daily activities.
Qualities: Harmony, order, reason, creativity, restraint, curiosity, arrogance, narcissism, observant
hello i am here now. plans for tonight are tryin to work out my verses page because honestly....what is going on...
“What morale?” He asks, trying not to sound a little bitter and failing. “It’s just us now.” Them and whoever else was left, scattered. He shakes his head and sighs, though, managing to muster up a more genuine smile. “Still. I’m glad you’re here. You’re the first friendly face in a long time.” He almost didn’t want to ask how long it had been. Decided not to. He sighs, running a hand through his hair, and shifts a little.
“Do you want to find somewhere to catch up?” He asks finally, expression a little more awkward. He wasn’t that good at small talk or that sort of thing normally, and now it was even harder. He tries to use his sight, glancing at the street signs…ah. Okay. “I think there’s a cafe still open this time of night a block down that way,” he says, nodding in that direction. “I’ll buy you coffee.” Askin always did like coffee.
“Ah, you’ve got me there,” he says, deadpan. Honestly, he can’t even bother to judge any bitterness in the other man’s voice. It’s a relatable feeling. “Just the two of us! I like the sound of that.” He grins, but his eyes are still tired. The two of them, in one of the, uh – tiniest cities on Earth, from the looks of it. Not the most impressive, but hey, he can deal. “I’m glad you’re here too. Really.”
He considers the offer – not really, he’d agree to just about anything – before speaking. “You sure know me well, don’t you?” He teases, before looking down the street Bastien nodded at. “I think I know the place you’ve got in mind, actually. Haven’t been there yet, but there’s a first time for everything. I can lead the way, since you’re paying.” He’s not really sure if Bastien wants to stick beside him, but he’s offering. Maybe he’d like to have a reprieve, for once?
“It is you,” he says quietly, face sliding into a trembling smile. “You’re alive. I didn’t– you were Schutzstaffel, and I didn’t– you made it.” He shouldn’t be surprised. Askin was the man who couldn’t die, no matter what was done to him. He shouldn’t be surprised that he’d survived the war, too. But of all people, of all places, it was this one…? What a tremendous coincidence.
He doesn’t quite let go just yet, his Sight not quite as good as it used to be and almost afraid that if he lets go Askin will vanish like leaves in the wind. “I’m glad to see you,” he says. “So to speak.” The joke is accompanied by a weak twitch of his lips, and it’s not really all that funny. “I thought I was the only one to survive…” He’d seen neither hide nor hair of anyone else, this entire time. He’d almost believed himself the last. Alone. What a terrible fate that would have been. But now he’s not.
“Yeah. Pretty crazy, isn’t it?” He laughs bitterly. It’s just his luck, really. Though fortune seems to be smiling on him now, at least. What are the odds, he wonders, that the two of them would be in the same city, at the same time? Perhaps there’s something to the blood they share after all.
He remains in place, letting Bastien look at him as best he can. If Yhwach had tried to rip away his Shrift as well, there’s no doubt that his ability is severely diminished, or entirely gone. “The feeling is mutual,” he says, before ruffling Bastien’s hair. Jeez, this guy needs to lighten up. “Y’know, you should really be more optimistic. Got to keep up morale.” Not that Askin’s own outlook had been much better, now that he thinks about it.
@vergiftiger
The last…Gott, he’s not even sure how long it’s been. It’s been too long. Since they lost the War, since their King, their Father died. Since he betrayed them, stole their Shrifts and left them all for dead. It’s been hard. He’s hidden out in the living realm, among humans – he’s glad he knows passable Japanese, in this little city (Naruki?) – and trying to get by. There’s not much he can do, honestly, being blind and suffering from the loss of much of his powers. He’s managed to get a job behind the register of a coffee shop/bakery, which is nice…the owner actually likes him, too. It’s a struggle, but it’s almost okay.
He’s heading home one night when a familiar reiatsu slams into him like a sack of bricks, and he runs towards it, reaching out and grabbing the man’s shirt – touch lets him See, and he swallows a sob. “Askin!”
It’s hard enough, falling from grace a bit more literally than most, but Askin makes does as best as he can. Being spared is bad enough – shameful, even – but Yhwach had gone and rubbed salt in the wound. And Askin did the only thing he could: he lived. Then he made himself scarce. Where else would be better to hide than among other humans? He’s luckier than most Sternritter would have been, he knows that. At least joining His Majesty’s army wasn’t his original ambition – not years ago. Those old plans are paying off, now. He’s useful to these ordinary people, at least.
His shift ran late (as usual), and it’s quite dark, now. He hears the person running toward him before he feels them – a more familiar reiatsu, but muffled – before a hand latches onto him. “...Bastien?” He almost doesn’t want to believe it, until he turns and sees the ex-officer. Askin cracks a smile that he isn’t sure the other can See. “You’re here too, huh?”
I would like to have more interactions with Bleach characters.
Could you do me the favour and reblog this if you’d like to roleplay with a Yoruichi Shihoin ? I have no clue how many Bleach blogs are out there and probably don’t follow enough people to roleplay with.
