[streamer!megumi x fashion blogger!reader] (reader is implied to have a darker style #emolife) (and is female soz)
(no use of y/n for reader!)
précis: megumi is a chud and doesn’t deny the dating rumors gasp
megumi tried to just ignore the whole water bottle incident. he really tried to avoid addressing the whole thing and wait for it to blow over, but people are nosy. way too nosy, for no reason.
it was just your hand, and they times sixty seven thousand zoomed in on your nails and figured out it was you. genuinely the amount of dedication to figure you out is insane. he didn’t even realize the people wanted to see you so bad, good lord.
he was playing minecraft with yuji today. his first mistake was being friends with somebody chronically online and then playing a game that didn’t make him want to actually punch somebody.
him and yuji has streamed the minecraft world a few times and they just played it whenever they got too mad at a shooter game, like today. yuji’s ping went insane mid round and he got disconnected and accidentally threw the game. yeah, probably a good thing. them getting off that game for a bit.
megumi was overly focused on mining while yuji was.. doing something. could not tell you, yuji probably doesn’t even know what he’s doing icl.. his pickaxe broke and while he was weirdly locked in on putting his iron ore in the furnace to smelt it, yuji piped up.
“fushiguro, how do you feel about the rumors?”
yuji asked, his tone all joyous. as it usually is.
“what rumors?”
“y’know, the ones that your girlfriend is that one emo fashion blogger.”
“she’s not emo.”
megumi wasn’t even thinking about what he was saying. yuji laughed and megumi froze for a half a second and processed what he had just said, carefully glancing at his chat
“oh YOUD know”
“im deadasf he just confirmed it 😭w”
“He’s more focused on him calling her emo instead of saying she’s his girlfriend lolol”
you sighed.
..you were actively watching his stream right now. you had some influencer event for a brand launch and had to start getting ready, but you didn’t want to miss your boyfriends stream. since the whole incident from a few streams ago, your comments were floodddedddd. you were so tempted to turn them off, but that’d probably be way more suspicious. so you just decided to ignore them as well. but the rumors kept getting spread, of course.
you had his stream on your ipad, propped on your vanity. you had your bangs clipped back and was so very focused on applying your blush. you were only half listening because, well, since it was just minecraft, it wasn’t really intense, so him and yuji were mostly just talking about things.
when yuji started talking, you didn’t tune in till you blinked and realized he was talking about rumors.. THEEE rumors..
you rolled your eyes when yuji called you emo, because of course he did. it wasn’t like you’ve never met yuji, you guys have?????? megumis friends got to meet the secret girlfriend, of course. you were about to set your brush down when you pause at what megumi said.
..well. there goes trying to let this blow over. now you’re definitely getting that tuff hard launch.
ok, honestly you’re more offended because of yuji calling you emo. acting like you’re not wearing a black dress to the event and practically everywhere but shhh
you picked up your powder and tapped your black powder puff into it before patting it into your under eyes, his stream still playing out of your ipad.
megumi cleared his throat.
“..i uh. haven’t found any diamonds yet.”
“you’re just gonna dodge the question?”
megumi stayed silent.
“aight bro. you’re cooked, everyone already figured it out..”
not even 5 minutes after that conversation happened, your phone pinged besides you, your phone started pinging like crazy with tweets. you gave it a quick glance, immediately jump scared by the tweets.
“OM GEHEH MEGUMI PRACTICALLY JUST CONFIRMED IT IM GEEKING OUT BRO??”
“ion who im more jealous of, her or megumi 🥀”
“NAHHA YALL SAW THAT TOO RIGHR.”
“ok but i lowk want a couples stream w them..”
..now you REALLY have to do a tuff hard launch.
later, when he got off stream, megumi checked his phone. a couple of texts from other people, two from you:
“i love whatever’s wrong with you but have you ever stepped outside and interacted with people before <3”
“also.. hard launch when.”
a/n: kinda short and buns and filler :( i had absolutely no freaking ideas sigh but i do have plans for another part, they’ll finally get that tuff hard launch 👀👀👀👀👀 part 3 might be the last part idk
synopsis: after avoiding your sibling for so long your finally forced to confront them, while trying to juggle your massive crush on your classmate
words: +4.3k
tags/warning: megumi x kiara's sister!reader, pretend Panda would have absolutely zero clue about reader and kirara being sibling, and also that no one noticed them having the same name (we don't gotta talk bout the plot holes guys...)
a/n this took me so long also sorry if anything is misspelt its so late and im not joking i can't see straight, night guys, wait also ill make a pt. 2 maybe if u guys want
You changed out of your Jujutsu High uniform, into something more normal looking. Yuji and Megumi did the same. Yuji put on a bright orange jacket that made him stick out like a sore thumb with that vibrant of a color. But then again with his pink hair he always kind of stood out. Megumi was the opposite though, and threw on a plain black jacket over his white button up. You had to admit, for the few seconds you saw him in his white button up you couldn't take your eyes off of him.
Stop it. That's not a thought for right now, you have bigger problems than him, and your stupid crush on him.
Way bigger problems actually. You need to infiltrate Hakari's fight club, and if you knew one thing about Hakari, it was that he wasn't too fond when it came to people. Also that for your own safety you needed to stay away at least a good twenty feet from him.
"Ready?" Megumi asked, now standing in front of you.
You froze, unsure what to say. Not just because of how close he was to you, but also because you needed an excuse to avoid talking to the people you knew were in the entrance to the parking garage. You could not be caught on the security cameras. But you also didn't want to share your reason why with Yuji and especially Megumi. Not that you're ashamed, just that it was personal.
"I think I'll stay out here actually," you said, hoping they would just go with them.
"What, why?" Yuji questioned.
"I think it would look suspicious if there were three of us," you said, thinking on the fly, "They might think something's up and we need Hakari, so I just don't want to blow it."
You rambled out an excuse as fast as you could hoping they would accept it and move on.
Megumi let out a sigh, "Fine, but be careful, and don't get yourself in trouble."
Your heart skipped a beat when he told you to be careful. Maybe he did actually care about you.
No, he's just a friend, and doesn't want you causing more trouble for him.
Megumi and Yuji made their way down to the parking garage where you knew the guards were to tell off people that weren't supposed to be there. You just stood there taking in the surrounding area. You hadn't been here in awhile. Almost over a year actually.
You'd only been out here once and for a not so great reason. The higher ups sucked, but sometimes jeopardizing your own future was not your favorite thing to do.
Yuji and Megumi made their way back to you, seeming to already be making a plan. The three of you decided Yuji would go inside since he was fighting tonight, so that they could hopefully get an audience with Hakari. It was decided that you and Megumi would check out the parking lot to see what you could find. The three of you then split up as you hoped this would go smoother than you expected it too.
★★★
The crowd floor was dark, perfect for you to hide in and sneak around. You knew it was dangerous to be inside the building, but you remembered the few spots that didn't have cameras and allowed you to sneak in. You split up from Megumi, trying to cover more ground to see what you could hear.
Truthfully, you didn't care what the people had to say about Hakari. You already knew enough.
You watched as Yuji pretended to fight Panda. You had to hold back a chuckle at Panda's bad acting. Good thing he was a panda and not an actor. You didn't want to draw any attention to yourself, afraid someone might recognize you. Luckily though, your jacket had a hood, which you kept up as you made your way around the level you were on.
You looked across the place to see Megumi hiding in the shadows. His all black outfit and hair made it easy for him to blend in with the shadows. You admired him from afar, something you caught yourself doing a lot. This time you were too far away for him to catch you. Or, at least you thought so until he turned his head looking at you.
Shockingly, he didn't look mad for catching you staring. If you didn't know better you would think he was admiring you in the same manner. You knew that wasn't the truth though, and he probably just thought you were trying to convey something to him.
You just sent him a small smile. He jerked his head to the side as if to communicate to you to leave and follow him out. You did as he suggested, watching as he slipped out of the shadow and out of the parking garage.
★★★
You followed him outside to where Panda sat on a log after "losing" the fight to Yuji. You listened to the two of them talk, trying to figure out why they couldn't reach Hakari and the other third year. You knew exactly why, but telling them would give away your secret.
It wasn't actually a secret secret, more like something you just didn't want other people knowing. So basically a secret, but just not. The hoops you were jumping through currently were astronomical.
You were zoned out for most of the conversation, but felt your body go stiff at the name of the other third year. You thought you got lucky, and the two were too caught up in their conversation to notice, but actually you weren't. You didn't see it, but Megumi looked your way the second he saw a shift in your demeanor, taking note of it.
The two finished up their plan and their backup in case they couldn't get through to Hakari. You knew not to rule out the backup and to keep that as what you were most prepared for. Especially, if he caught wind of you being there. It was safe to say you two were not on the best terms.
You remember his last words to you being something along the lines of, it's on sight, if ever saw you again.
You, Panda, and Megumi started to make your way back to the parking garage with Megumi and Panda in front of you, while you walked a few paces behind. You stared at the ground with your hands in your pockets, mindlessly following the two. You hadn't realized it but Megumi had slowed down just a bit to walk next to you.
"Hey," he said, his voice making you jump, "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," he apologized.
You shook your head, "It's fine."
Silence fell between you as you continued walking, at least until Megumi broke it.
"Look, I know it's not my place," he started, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, "But, I know something's off about you, is everything okay?"
He seemed nervous and slightly scared to ask you. He wasn't the most confrontational when it came to emotions, especially other people's. But even then, you thought it was sweet and considerate he was asking. Things like this were the reason why you asked yourself everyday how you couldn't not fall for him more.
"I'm fine," you said as he gave you a look, as if knowing that wasn't the truth, "I swear, it's just cause of everything going on, I'm just on edge I guess."
Your answer wasn't totally a lie, but it was the closest to the truth you were willing to get.
"I get it, everything's a mess right now, but as long as you're okay."
"I am," you half lied, "I swear," you fully lied.
Before either of you could say anything else, Panda yelled back at the two of you, since you significantly fell behind.
"Hey, lovebirds, hurry up."
You both turned away from each other, faces turning red at Panda's words.
★★★
You made your way up the staircase with no cameras with Panda to avoid being caught. You made it onto the rooftop and saw Megumi already there waiting for you two. Immediately you felt a pit in your stomach. You knew something was off, just not what.
Then suddenly it hit you. You knew that cursed energy anywhere and were not willing to get caught. You saw the top of their head just peek out from under where you were walking and swiftly made a dash to hide yourself real quick.
You felt bad to abandon the others, but sometimes it was every man for themselves.
From your hiding spot you could see Kirara notice Megumi and Panda and connect the dots. Quickly the three engaged in battle. You knew this wasn't good as their technique was hard to figure out. You just had to hope Megumi was smart enough to figure it out quickly.
You watched as they fought and as Megumi's demon dog got sent right back to him because of Kirara's technique. You also saw how she marked the two of them, which was not good.
If only you could help, but you knew if you showed your face you would only make things worse.
Panda had explained a bit about the higherups and their stupid conservative views, and why they weren't Kirara's biggest fan. Hopefully that was enough to have them allow them to talk to Hakari. Unfortunately, it wasn't.
"Satoru Gojo has been sealed away," Megumi told her after she brought up how he would just save them.
In typical Kirara fashion though she did not believe them right away.
Cue more fighting and hoping your friends were smart enough to not get seriously injured. You were glad they hadn't noticed you were gone, mostly likely too caught up in trying to get through to her to notice. Megumi summoned his bunnies, one of your favorite Shikigami's of his, as he noticed the 'Acrux' written across them. He then turned around and saw the other mark on the monitor room.
You smiled to yourself, knowing he was getting somewhere to figuring out her technique and not losing the fight.
Megumi's rabbits quickly disappeared as he ran over to Panda, asking how they looked.
"They were almost as cute as I am!" Panda exclaimed.
Good lord, sometimes your friends weren't that bright. Good thing you picked the smart one.
Megumi then asked if Panda had anything written on his body. Finally, he was catching on to what Kirara was doing. He was so smart you could just kiss him. Panda checked around his body before finding the mark labeled 'Imai' with a star next to it.
Megumi was next to check his body. First he looked at his arms and hands, before pulling up his shirt and- oh great heavens.
The sight before you almost made your jaw drop. Of course he would be fit from training and all the time he spent working to get stronger. But still, not even you would've imagined his abs to be so toned.
Kirara, I might be mad at you now, but thank you, thank you.
Sweet heavens, you needed to stop thinking like that and get your act together. But it wasn't your fault, and to make it worse, his mark was all the way down on his hip, making your eyes trace down from his abs to his v-line. The 'Acrux' marked on his body made you think about just how good he would look with tattoos.
I don't know if I can stay mad at you Kirara if you do that again.
You desperately needed to get a grip. He was just a friend, you reminded yourself. An insanely attractive, and sweet (when he wanted to be), and caring (once again when he wanted to be), thoughtful, and beautiful, and fit, and perfect, friend.
Okay, you genuinely need to come back down to reality before you start floating away like Gojo.
Megumi then figured out their technique and how it was based on a constellation, specifically the Southern Cross. You knew he probably only knew about it from the times the two of you snuck out and went stargazing. It wasn't a common occurrence, but every once in a while when both of you couldn't sleep, you would meet up, that way you felt less alone.
One night you suggested stargazing, since you knew plenty of constellations because of Kirara. Megumi begrudgingly agreed, but still followed you out to a clearing in the woods where you could see the stars.
"That there is the Southern Cross," you pointed out, laying down on the grass next to Megumi.
You hadn't noticed it, but you had his full attention with his head turned to you watching you as you pointed out stars and constellations in the sky.
"Look there's Imai, and Acrux, and Gacrux," you pointed to with your finger.
"Where?" Megumi asked, finally looking up at the sky.
"There," you said, pointing at the constellation.
"I still don't see it."
You don't know if it was the lack of sleep or what, but something took over your brain. Something that made you grab his hand and used it to point at the stars in the sky. You couldn't see it, but the moment you grabbed his hand he felt his face turn red and froze at your touch.
His hand was warm and surprisingly soft for a sorcerer, especially one that trained so much. You pointed out with his hand the stars in the constellation one by one.
"Do you see it now," you asked, turning your head towards him.
To your shock he was already looking back at you as he nodded his head. He was lying of course, but he couldn't take his eyes off of you. Ever since that night he remembered the stars you had named and their constellation.
You watched as the fighting resumed. You're just glad that now Megumi knew what to do and would most likely come out of the fight unscathed. Cursed energy flowed around him, which to you only made him look more beautiful than he already was.
Eventually, he found the last mark needed, as Kirara made their way over to him via a coin. Their technique was always so unique and you were fascinated by how she used it.
Megumi then used their technique against them to be able to pin them down. Oh, how you wished you were her. He then got down on the ground bowing to them, begging for their help. Kirara, can we switch places, please!
She seemed to agree to help, but then suddenly Yuji came flying out of the monitor room, followed by Hakari. Yikes, if you weren't already shitting your pants, now you definitely are. Maybe you should've taken your chances with Yuta in joining a colony.
Hakari then went on a whole thing about jujutsu or something and Yuj just took punch after punch. Kirara and Megumi both tried to stop them before Hakari finally listened to Kirara.
Once the two of them were willing to listen they sat on the steps to the upper part of the garage as they started to talk. Everything was going fine until Megumi started looking around the place frantically.
"What are you looking for sea urchin?" Hakari asked, "Got another sorcerer on the way."
Megumi continued to look, "Yes actually," he then turned towards Yuji, "Where did she go?" he questioned, hoping by a long shot Yuji knew.
Yuji just shrugged though, and he knew Panda didn't know since you were with them last, "I thought she was with you," Yuji said.
"She was, but I think she disappeared when the fighting started," he thought out loud, trying to retrace your steps.
"Sorry, but who are you talking about?" Kirara asked.
You knew then that you had to show yourself. It was better for you to explain, than let Megumi and the others take the brunt of the force.
"Me," you said shyly, stepping out from your hiding spot. You stood behind Megumi as the others stared at you and he turned around to look at you. You could immediately tell he wasn't happy about your disappearing act.
"You can't just disappear on us like that," he scolded, his tone sounding angry, but at the same time relieved that you were fine, and for some reason just hiding.
Before you could even explain yourself, Hakari was already yelling and making his way towards you.
"I told you to never show your face here again!"
"Technically you didn't tell me that right here at this spot, so I don't think it counts," you jokingly tried to argue to bring down the tension, as you tried to hide behind Megumi.
"You think you're funny," he said, only getting angrier.
Yuji and Panda watched in utter confusion as to what was happening. Kirara seemed to have a change of heart and this time wasn't pleading with Hakari to leave you alone.
Luckily for you, as Hakari got closer to you, Megumi stopped him.
"Back off," he said, his voice firm, as if ready to take on Hakari for you even after seeing him fight Yuji.
Hakari scoffed, "Why should I?"
"Hey, it's great you two are fighting over me, it's really sweet, basically a girl's dream, but I think we have more important matters to attend to," you tried to redirect.
"This is an important matter," Hakari threatened.
Before he could even try anything though, Megumi gave him another look, one that said if he tried anything towards you he would summon Mahoraga in a heartbeat. This slightly piqued Kirara's interest before returning to be annoyed you were here. Megumi then turned around to you, giving you an only slightly less stern look.
"How do you know these two?" he asked, his voice serious.
"Well you see," you started, "I mean, i-i-it's kinda complicated, I mean it really is a whole thing-"
"She’s my sister," Kirara blurted out with an eyeroll, seemingly irritated and bored by your presence.
"What!" Yuji exclaimed, "You never told us you had a sister."
"You never told me you had a sister," Megumi stated.
You practically ignored Yuji's statement because of how much Megumi's words pulled on your heartstrings. You did tell him nearly everything, considerably more than you told most people. But some things you just had to keep to yourself.
"You're one to talk," you shot back, "We didn't know you had a sister till like a month ago."
"So it's fine when you do it, but not me?"
"Well, yeah," you stammered out, "It's just different."
"How is it any different?"
"Mine was a personal reason."
"So was mine."
"Yeah, but you don't share anything with us, we probably wouldn't have even known your name if Gojo didn't tell us."
"That's not true."
"Yes, it is, we didn't even know your birthday until like a month after knowing you."
"We or you? Because I told you that weeks before I told anyone else."
At that you were silent. He wasn't wrong. He had told you his birthday before he told anyone else. All of the students were sharing their birthdays so they could plan something for each other when it came up. The only one who didn't share was Megumi. Later on it was just you and him and you garnered the confidence to ask him, even though you thought you wouldn't get a response. Shockingly, he did tell you, and you made sure to tell him you would put it on your calendar so you wouldn't forget.
He had told you a lot of things the others didn't know. Things like his favorite song, his favorite shirt, what he would always have Gojo bring him back from trips, and even some of the scars he had gained through the years. It was all small trivial things.
But even then he still shared bigger, more private things. Things like being taken care of by Gojo as a kid, how he felt after missions that didn't go so well, and how secretly he just wanted a nice calm life in the end.
You both stared at each other until Panda cleared his throat, breaking the tension.
"As entertaining as this is, we have important things to talk about."
Megumi quickly regained composure and turned back towards the others. He felt slightly embarrassed by his small argument with you, since it seemed he forgot how many people were around.
"Is she working with you guys?" Kirara asked, their hands on their hips.
Megumi opened his mouth to answer, but instead you stepped forward, slightly touching his arm to let him know you had it handled.
"I am," you answered, "And before you back out, please just listen to me."
Kirara didn't answer, just stared at you, so did Hakari, and you took that as your sign to continue.
"I'm sorry about that fight," you said, "I've thought about it every night since and I've wanted to apologize for so long. I know it wasn't entirely your fault. And I know the higherups suck and you and Hakari didn't deserve what happened, but it still almost jeopardized my life. I know you're not the biggest fan of the jujutsu world, but I have a life here, and I almost lost it because of you, and it was before I even had a chance to experience it. I'm sorry for everything I said, but I'm not sorry for what I chose, cause I think I made the right decision."
You looked over at your friend, Yuji and Panda, you intensely watched you speak, and looked almost moved by it. You then looked up at Megumi, hoping that even after your argument he would give you some kind of support. To no surprise he was. He was looking at you with a rare soft smile on his face as you defended yourself.
Kirara listened to your words and seemed to ponder them for a moment. They made a face, but then ultimately dropped their arms, and relaxed.
"I guess you're right," Kirara admitted, "I was kind of harsh on you, and you do seem to have made the right choice. I'm sorry too, and I shouldn't have made you almost ruin your future. I only want the best for you."
"Does this mean you don't hate me anymore and I can have my clothes back?"
"Yes and no," they said, walking up to you to wrap you in a hug. You missed their hugs and being around your sibling in general.
You hugged them back for a moment before pulling away, "As sweet as this reunion is, we do have important things to talk about."
"Fine, but we will talk later," they said, not so sneakily glancing at Megumi then back at you.
Of course she caught on to something. What exactly she thought you had no clue.
The conversation resumed as you all explained what had happened, and your plan to fix it. You listened and shared your thoughts every once in a while, mostly leaving it up to Yuji, Hakari, and Megumi, since this was their plan.
You didn't miss how throughout the conversation Megumi slightly bumped your arm or your hand, as if trying to get your attention. Every time you turned your head he was already looking at you, but then swiftly moved his head away from you.
You knew he was just trying to make sure you were okay after what happened with you and Kirara and also your argument with him. He just wasn't great at expressing himself with people around and was also weary about where you stood after your minor argument. You just smiled at him, hoping he understood you would talk later.
Once everyone had a plan you all made your way down the stairs and outside of the building. Everyone seemed to be making their final questions and touches as you all prepared to leave.
Of course you and somehow Megumi couldn't leave without talking to Kirara. You hadn't noticed, but she somehow swept him away into a conversation he looked too awkward to be having. You let out a stifled chuckle which he had unfortunately heard. Lucky for him though your karma came only moments later.
As you were saying goodbye to Kirara they finally asked you the question you knew they were dying to ask.
"So what's with you and sea urchin head?"
"Megumi?" you asked, flustered, as if you didn't know what they meant, "We're classmates and we go on missions together."
Kirara rolled her eyes, "You know what I mean, and truthfully he is quite cute."
"Shut up, we're just friends."
"Just friends don't protect each other like that, just friends don't bicker like an old married couple."
"We don't bicker like an old married couple," you defended.
"Lies, when you two were bickering I asked that pink haired kid and he said that was a common occurrence."
"So what, we just bicker a bit," you said, "That doesn't mean we're planning a wedding."
"Not yet at least, " they teased, "I know you like him, and I know you know you like him. So stop being stupid and just kiss him, you fool."
You once again rolled your eyes. Nothing got past Kirara when it came to how you felt.
"I'll see what I can do," was the best you offered, but they took it anyway.
"Perfect, just make sure I'm your maid of honor."
You just rolled your eyes once again as you made your way back to the others. You all agreed you were ready to go and made your way away from the building the fight club was held in. You thought about what Kirara said and maybe they were right. What friend stargazes with you, or protects you with an inch of their life, or even bickers with you about your safety and your life.
You looked over at Megumi who in turn looked back at you. Oh well, maybe one day you'll take Kirara's advice and kiss him.

You had finally decided you had ignored him enough. You had heard him call out your name in the hallways, or text you trying to get you to talk, or strategically try to make you two be in the same place at the same time. None of it ever worked though, as you had taken every measure possible to avoid him, and even did some really desperate things. Like when you hid in Inumaki's room and lost a year of your life from the smell alone.
But now you were down with all the effort it took into hiding yourself from him. Maki was right, you needed to grow up and talk to him. You knew deep down he didn't deserve this. You weren't the one he wanted, and you were finally ready to come to terms with that.
The last step towards this acceptance was talking to him. Whether that was telling him how you felt, or coming up with some lie and apologizing so that you could stay friends.
You put on a decent pair of clothes and did your makeup, not wanting to look bad, but not caring enough to put in too much effort. You slipped on your shoes and made your way out of the dorms.
You knew exactly what he meant when he said to meet him outside. It was the spot where you would both hide when Gojo was being a nuisance, or training was running too long and you wanted to leave, or when you just wanted to skip class. It was an older tree that had been on the school grounds for years, tucked away near the back of the dorms. You found it in your first year at Jujutsu Tech.
Maki had lent you one of her staffs and you had accidentally broken it while training. It was safe to say she was pissed, especially since she was chasing you through the school.
You had turned a corner, losing her for a moment, when you saw Megumi standing there. You explained what happened and with a small groan he grabbed your arm leading you somewhere in the school. Eventually after running and trying to lose Maki, he brought you behind the tree hidden by the dorms, and you both watched as Maki ran right past you.
Once she ran past you looked up at Megumi to thank him, but realized just how close the two of you were. You both realized it and slightly jumped apart before thanking him.
You thought of how you first found that secret hiding spot while you stared up at the tree. You thought about when you first realized you liked Megumi, and all the moments that made you still like him to this day. You thought of all the time you now realized you had wasted on someone that was never going to like you back.
"Hey," an all too familiar voice said, making you snap out of your daydream.
You were so lost in thought you didn't even notice him walking up to you until you turned around and saw him for the first time in weeks.
"Hey," you said back, unsure how to start the conversation.
You both stood in silence waiting for the other to speak first. It was the first time you had seen each other in weeks and it was as if you two couldn't take your eyes off of each other. You looked over him and his tired eyes, his facing looking exhausted, and his hair slightly a mess. It was as if without you talking to him he'd become a mess in only a couple weeks.
"Why are you ignoring me?" Megumi asked, finally unable to bear the silence, "What did I do?" This time his voice was softer, almost desperate.
You'd never seen him like this before. He was always so stoic it drove you crazy.
"You didn't do anything," you muttered, unable to look him in the eye.
"Clearly, I did, and I don't know what and I hate myself for it, but please talk to me, tell me what I did," he begged, "Let me apologize, let me make it up to you."
"You didn't do anything, I'm just stupid and petty, and you have nothing to apologize for, it was all my fault anyway," you told him.
"What was your fault?"
You didn't want to admit it, but it slipped out your mouth before you could even think.
"Being jealous of her for no reason."
Megumi stood there for a moment in complete silence. You couldn't tell if he was unsure about what you were talking about, or if he knew, but didn't know what to say.
"Jealous? Jealous of who?"
"No one, it doesn't matter," you mutter, starting to walk away from him, "This was stupid, I shouldn't have wasted your time."
Before you could even make it out from under the shadow of the leaves on the tree, he grabbed your arm, stopping you from leaving. He stood in front of you, blocking you from leaving as he looked done at you. He was closer than he had ever been to you, and you noticed all the beautiful things about him.
You noticed how he had his lips slightly parted, how his soft eyes stared down at you through his long lashes. You noticed just how truly tired he looked with the dark circles under his already exhausted looking eyes. You noticed every small feature you had spent years wanting to memorize, and yet all it did was make your heart hurt and your breath stop. You finally noticed how everything about him wasn't yours to memorize, but instead was someone else's.
And even worse, it started to rain.
"It does matter," he said, his voice strained, "It matters because I don't want you to ignore me, I want you to talk to me, and this isn't stupid and you're not wasting my time, you never have."
Your voice caught in your throat at his confession.
"So please, just tell me who," he begged, "Let me make this right."
"It was that girl Yuji set you up with," you finally admitted, your voice small, almost shameful admitting your jealousy.
Megumi thought for a moment before shaking his head.
"What about her? She was just some random girl Yuji tried to set me up with."
You shook your head, lowering your gaze, unable to look at him as the rain fell on the two of you. His hair started to fall and wet strands stuck to his face as droplets fell from his eyelashes. Even now when you were trying to get over him he still looked so beautiful.
"I told you, it's stupid," you said, trying to make a move to leave again.
But once again Megumi stopped you, this time using the hand that wasn't holding you in place, to lift your chin so that you would finally look at him.
"Stop saying it's stupid, it's not," he said, "If it matters to you, then it matters to me, please tell me."
You let out a sigh, deciding if he wasn't going to let you leave without an answer, then you might as well just lay everything out on the table.
"I saw you two holding hands, and I felt so jealous because I've spent the past two years just trying to get you to notice me in the slightest, and you never have."
Megumi shook his head, "That's not true."
"What?" you said, so low he barely heard you.
"That's not true, I have noticed you, and I only held her hand cause she made me, I didn't want to," he admitted.
"What?" you mumbled again, "What are you talking about?"
"She just grabbed my hand randomly and wouldn't let me let go," he said, "I don't like her, I never have, and I've only ever noticed you, no one else."
"Oh," you muttered, realizing what you believed to be him not wanting you wasn't the truth at all.
Megumi closed his eyes and let out a long breath, before looking back up at you. His hair was a mess from the rain and both of your clothes were soaked through, but it didn't matter.
"Truthfully," he started, trying to find the courage to tell you, "I've only ever liked you."
You felt your heart skip a beat at his confession. The Megumi you knew was always so stoic and hard to read. He had walls that never came down, at least until now.
"I was always too scared to tell you," he admitted, "I thought you wouldn't like me back and then you'd leave me. You're the best person I know and I couldn't risk ever losing you over my own stupid feelings. There's no one else in the world that I'd stand out in the rain and pour my heart out too. Only you."
"Really?" you asked, barely able to process the fact that he had liked you all this time.
He nodded, moving closer to you, to the point where your lips almost touched, "Please," he whispered softly against your lips.
You nodded, pressing your lips against his. He moved his hands down to your waist pulling you flush against him. You put one hand on his chest to help steady yourself, and rested the other on his shoulder. You kissed him till you couldn't breath and had to break apart for air. Swiftly he kissed you again, this time somehow more passionate.
His hands roamed your body, going up and down the sides of your body till he rested one hand on your waist and the other on the small of your back. You ran your fingers through the back of his wet hair, your other hand trying to keep you steady against him, since you felt like your legs were going to give out.
You pulled apart from him again, this time speaking.
"Wait," you uttered, making him open his eyes and look down and your swollen lips, which made him smile softly, "If this all happened because Yuji set you up with that girl, does that mean he caused us to get together?
Megumi let out a small laugh, making you smile.
"Don't tell him that, it'll only make his head bigger," he said before kissing you again. He couldn't get enough of you. He'd waited so long for this and he was not letting you go anytime soon. Slowly the rain stopped, and by the time the two of you were ready to head back to your dorms the sun had come out.

taglist (ask to be added to my permanent taglist for future fics)
guys i need help i read this megumi x reader fic on here like forever ago i think it was a band!au but all i can remember was that him and reader watched the virgin suicides and it was a really good fic and it was like a series, does anyone know what im talking about?
warnings/tags: ooc, domestic fluff, established relationship, fem!reader, pretend it’s Christmas chat, golden retriever!reader x black cat!megumi, [Name] is an absolute sweetheart, cussing, reader and megumi are jokingly called mom and dad, aged up!characters, @riverspirit2026 paid me $20 to put the word ‘balls’ in (I put it in twice twin)
Megumi Fushiguro hated the cold.
Whenever he had to go outside in the winter, he’d whine and groan and you’d have to drag him out of bed to get him out the house.
He hated how he’d get covered in snow and have to suffer the fate of freezing his balls off, and when he’d finally get back home, the snow would melt all over him and he’d have to freeze his balls off again.
It was like seasonal depression for him. Megumi avoided going outside at all costs, hiding in his already cold ass room reading his comics, studying, and playing animal crossing (on your Nintendo account by the way.)
The only thing that could convince him to go outside? You.
He couldn’t help it when you’d bat your snow coated eyelashes and pout at him. By the time you’d ask him to get up, his coat was already on and he was halfway out the door.
The four of you were now trekking walking through the snow, attempting to look for Maki, Yuta, Toge and Panda after they ran off somewhere. It honestly worried you, especially considering that Panda was well… a panda.
You already told them it was not in fact a good idea to let a walking talking panda wander around the streets of Tokyo, but no, they just wouldn’t listen to you. Now you were stuck with a bunch of children your friends scrounging around in the snow looking for another bunch of children your seniors.
“Megumi Fushiguro, I swear to fucking god, you better stop acting like a bum, smile and walk faster.”
Megumi was getting on Nobara’s last nerves. She was about to grab him by the hair and bash his head against a nearby lamppost. He was moping about the cold weather, in Yuji’s words: ‘sucking all the color out of the world’
You turned back and made grabby hands at him, his green light to interlink his fingers with yours. He let out a sigh of content, his breath coming out all misty from the cold.
Whenever you held his hand, you’d always be walking ahead of him, so it was more like you were dragging him along wherever you went. You’d skip happily while Yuji and Nobara bickered about something, with Megumi tagging along behind quietly, the snow crunching under his boots softly.
Yuji once caught him smiling at you from afar as Nobara sat behind you braiding your hair. Yuji snickered as Megumi shoved him off the couch, making you and Nobara look up.
All you got was a tiny ‘nothing..’ when you asked what was going on. You assumed it was just ‘boys being boys’ again.
“Oh my god, [Name], am I allowed to go in there? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?” Yuji hopped on the spot when he saw his favourite bakery brand alongside the various shops lined up against the sidewalk.
You blinked. “We just had lunch.”
“Pleaseeeeee? I’ll only get one, I swear I’ll finish it!”
You weren’t afraid he wouldn’t be able to finish it, cause he definitely could. Yuji’s stomach could be a black hole at times, swallowing up whatever he ate resulting in never ending hunger.
You were afraid that he’d eat one too many, and end up throwing up everywhere in the snow. And with the snow ice cream trend going around, you didn’t want him to be the reason of the entire nation’s stomach bug.
You ran a hand through your hair, tiny snowflakes falling out. “Fine. One.”
Yuji beamed, he then turned towards Megumi, waiting expectantly as he rocked back and forth on his heels. Megumi groaned, digging into his pockets to fish out Gojo’s credit card.
He placed it carefully into Yuji’s hand, wincing as he watches him fumble with the card.
“Thanks mom and dad!”
Megumi rolled his eyes as you nudged him by the shoulder, giggling.
“Gross. You two are like an old married couple..” Nobara gagged playfully, which ended with you flicking her on the forehead.
“We’re not.” Megumi was quick to deny the accusation, but you felt him squeeze your hand a tad bit tighter.
“You got jealous of a child, Megumi.”
“I was not ‘jealous’, Kugisaki. I was just ticked off when somebody else other than me complimented my girlfriend.”
“One, it was a kid. Two, all the poor little boy said was ‘pretty [H/C] haired lady.” Nobara tilted her head at him, unimpressed. Megumi only shrugged.
“You know I’m right! And you! You yell at Megumi when he doesn’t do the dishes!” Nobara wriggled her eyebrows, throwing herself over your shoulders.
“That’s cause he never does them.”
“Lies.” Megumi let go of your hand to cross his arms, looking at you with an unamused expression written all over his face.
“Name one time you did the dishes.” You always did this. Whenever you spit the words ‘name one time…’, it was like you had wiped his memory.
He clenched his jaw. “Yesterday…”
Nobara gasped in offense. “I did them yesterday!”
“Uhhh…” Megumi slowly shuffled back from the girl. He was about to get beaten beyond repair, and he was planning to get a head start when running away from her. Better to know that he had died fighting then giving up right away.
Before she could lunge at him, you grab her by her the hood of her down jacket.
“Hey, Nobara! Why don’t you go help Yuji pick out a donut flavour.” You pointed at your pink haired friend through the window of the bakery. “His eyes are going to melt off if he stands there staring at the display case any longer.”
Nobara’s eye twitched, whispering low in Megumi’s ear so you wouldn’t hear. “You’re so lucky your girlfriend is a nice person.”
You hear the bell above the bakery door chime, and you slap Megumi in the chest softly. “You don’t do the dishes.”
He bit the inside of his cheek. “Maybe I don’t… but I make it up to you by making breakfast, right?”
As much as you hated to admit it, Megumi’s French toast could only be made with the right balance of yelling at Yuji to get out of the kitchen and sugar.
“Seriously though, if the three of you don’t start doing your chores im going to make a chore chart.”
“A chore chart, how scary.” Megumi leaned in, leaving the tiniest peck on your cheek. He was never one for PDA, so getting a kiss out from him in public was rare.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, swaying back and forth. He’d always act all annoyed by your affection, but the way he melted into everything you did said otherwise.
“I think you may have missed.” You tapped your lips, earning the tiniest chuckle from him. Forehead and wrist kisses were usually done in public, while the real kisses were saved for private. But sometimes, he could make an exception, especially if you asked reaaalll nicely.
He brushed the snow of your cheek, he was already so close you could feel his breath on your face. Just as he was about to press a soft kiss to your lips-
Smack!
You yelped at the feeling of the snow hitting the back of your head, the freezing sensation so cold it stung slightly. You whipped around, with snow flying everywhere from the speed you turned around, only to see Yuji standing there, snowballs in hand.
“Itadori…” Megumi gritted through his teeth, irritated that your moment was ruined.
“Too bad. This is why you don’t kiss in public.” Yuji stuck his tongue out. Unfortunately for him, you had thrown snow directly in his face, which also ended up going into his mouth.
You stood over Yuji, cackling wildly as he choked on the snow. Nobara and Megumi could only stand to the side as they watched the two of you throw snow back and forth at each other.
You slammed into the boy, sprinkling more snow in his face as he fought against you to no avail.
“Fushiguro! Save me from your evil ass girlfriend!” He reached a hand out to his best friend, only to be met with a dead, blank stare.
Talk about betrayal.
Yuji threw another snowball in your face, this throw particularly harder than the last few. The impact caused you to stumble back a few steps, almost knocking you over.
You put your hands over your face, a snort emerging from Yuji following right after.
“C’mon, [Name], don’t pretend.”
When you didn’t answer, his face fell, his eyes widening. Your hands stayed stuck to your face, eyes shut tight.
Nobara shoved Yuji as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “Itadori, you fuckin’ idiot, you don’t know your own strength sometimes.”
You crouched down onto the floor, knees pressed up against your chest. Your head lowered even further, your entire body shaking slightly from the cold.
Megumi walked over, meeting you at eye level when he descended down to the ground beside you. He placed his hands over yours gently, careful not to hurt you more.
“[Name]? Did it really hurt..?” His gaze softened, voice laced with worry.
What he didn’t expect was for you to do was jump at him out of the blue, causing him to fall back on his ass in shock. You had your arms pressed against the ground, braced on either side of his hips, your body peering over his.
He let out a loud tsk. “I knew it. You always do this.”
“You know you love me.” You crawled closer, your lips connecting with his. His dark eyelashes fluttered, grabbing your face to pull you closer.
“Ewww…” Yuji scrunched his nose.
“Let’s go Itadori. We’ll find the others ourselves…” She placed a hand on his back, leading him away from the busy couple.
You pulled away. “What the hell, gumi! Your hands are so cold!”
“And your body is strangely warm for someone who’s been outside playing in the snow for the past hour.” You squealed as he pulled you into a tight hug, trying to steal your body warmth.
“You’re like my personal heater, [N/N].” The corners of his lips quirked up, snuggling closer like you two weren’t literally sitting in the middle of the snow.
“I guess you’ll just have to come running to me whenever you’re feeling cold, huh?”
“I’m always cold.”
“Then I’ll always be here to warm you up.”
His soft laughter faded into sniffles as he reminisced at the memory, and this time it wasn’t from the cold.
His usual stoic image crumbled as he stood alone in the snow. He couldn’t contain himself, a few stray tears sliding down his face. He let out a short sob, a few hiccups slipping from his lips.
He watched the snowflakes fall, your name engraved on the headstone. You always told him you hated your name, but he could only stare at it and think about how pretty it was.
You were born in the early summer, and you left in the summer.
You never hit age 20. You never got to undo all the damage Yuji did on your Stardew Valley farm. You never got to see the cherry blossoms outside of missions. You never got to hear him say ‘I love you back’. He told you he wasn’t ready, and you told him you’d wait.
Megumi told himself that you’d be back from your mission soon. You always got easily distracted, and you probably wandered off somewhere without realizing the time again.
You were just late coming home. When you returned, the three of them would show up uninvited to your dorm again. You and Megumi would sit on your couch opening pokemon cards as Yuji screamed his head off trying to force you guys to play Mario kart.
You were just… late.
Megumi stared down at his hands. Winter was definitely colder than he remembered.
Megumi Fushiguro hated the cold.
a/n: I’m lowkenuinely sorry I hope you can forgive me🥹🥹 this fic is inspired by this itafushi comic by angrymiloras that ngl crushed my soul
pt.1, pt.2, pt.3
synopsis: after megumi notices you've been ignoring him, now he's desperate to get back in your good graces
tags/warning: forgot to mention this in the first one but you can decide if they're sorcerers or not, written part at the end
a/n ahhh so excited for part two to be out, part three coming soon
★★★
He was outside your door and you couldn't decide whether to open it or not. Part of you wanted to let him in, to let him talk, to forgive him for something he didn't even know he did. You knew shutting him out was bad. It wasn't his fault for who he wanted to be with.
But even then you couldn't bring yourself to open that door. Opening that door meant so much more than just letting him into your room. It meant having to tell him the truth. To tell him why you couldn't bring yourself to look him in the eye anymore.
You'd spent every moment since you met him just trying to get him to notice you. You wanted him to see the small things about you, things you wanted him to see that made you perfect to him.
You spent two years chasing, while he could barely hold a conversation with you for the first year you knew him. Every time you were in a room with it he would leave, every time you walked next to him and slightly brushed hands he would flinch, as if burned by your touch. Everything you did to try and get closer to him made you feel like he was trying to get farther away from you.
And now you'd realized you had wasted all this time for someone who never wanted you.
You were done chasing so hard you would trip and fall and not even notice all the scrapes and bruises it left.
You weren't opening that door no matter what. You were done. Your friends were right, you deserved so much more.
Megumi stood on the other side, his phone in his hand, texting you pleading to let him in. He was desperate. A rare sight, but one he was willing to show for you.
He stood there for almost twenty minutes, hoping you would change your mind. Eventually he knew you weren't letting him in no matter how much he begged.
He let out a long breath before placing his head against your door. He didn't want to give up, but he didn't know what to do. Currently he was trying everything to reach you, but you were doing everything to avoid him.
"You look like a kicked puppy," a stern, but familiar voice said.
"That's pretty accurate," Megumi mumbled, turning his head on the door to look at the person in the hallway late at night.
Of course it was his own cousin, Maki.
"If you're here to yell at me or make fun of me, then please don't."
Maki crossed her arms, rolling her eyes at him.
"I'm not here for that," she told him, "Look, I don't usually want to get involved in people's lives, but you two are exhausting."
Megumi lifted his head up, curious and desperate to hear what she had to say.
"She's ignoring you cause she saw you with that blonde girl Yuji set you up with," Maki said, "Do with that what you will."
She then walked past him, letting her words settle in his mind.
"I don't even like her," he muttered, shaking his head, "I only went cause Yuji begged me to. I just want her to talk to me."
Maki stopped in her tracks, looking back at her cousin.
"I'll see what I can do."

small sneakpeak:
"The first time you interacted with each other was when he saw you being followed by a group of bigger kids behind the school. Why you were going there? He didn’t know. He only cared cause his divine dogs went out of their way to follow you.
When he expected to find you all beat up, he actually found the opposite. He found you cooing at shiro and kuro, with the other kids on the floor groveling in pain beside you. It didn’t even seem like you minded the your blood stained knuckles or the tiny bruise forming on your forehead.
You finally noticed him when you heard his steps approaching you. You sent a soft smile his way, one he did not return.
Kids his age would normally be offended that he didn’t return the gesture, but you didn’t even seem to notice, much less mind. You acted like it was normal when people didn’t pay you back for your deeds.
“Are they yours?” You queried, hands running through kuro’s black fur with such tenderness that you could drop weights on an egg and it still wouldn’t break.
“…yeah.” His voice came out softer than intended, something he had never heard from himself before."
