“It’s probably the same as cookies, too,” Dollie decided, after giving it a moment’s thought. “Maybe even more so, because you can cut cookies into shapes. My cakes are always all pretty… cake-shaped.”
She turned the duck mould over in her hands. “What sort of scent goes with duck-shaped, though?” she asked, looking to the other woman for advice. “I mean, obviously I can’t make a bath bomb that smells of actual ducks. So what do I use? Lemon?”
"I’ve seen some pretty crazy shaped cakes, though,” Veronica laughed. “Although mostly in videos. My eye is always caught on those videos where they make crazy cakes. After all that work, why would you want to eat it?” Seemed a little ridiculous to put so much energy into something that you were going to destroy eventually. Veronica didn’t even mean just beautifully decorated cakes, either; she was thinking about the ones that were over the top, as if someone was making them to prove that they could. “I think lemon could work,” she said with a quick nod. “You can’t even get away with any other traditional water related scents, like beaches, because ducks are nowhere near those. I’d definitely go with something that’s just yellow.”
