if there was one thing minhee hated about the time change, it was that the days felt longer than usual. and with stella’s schedules being limited, the maknae found herself stuck in the rcm dorms more often than most. one would think this would lead the idol to sleep and rest more now that her group wasn’t busy, but in all honesty, it just made minhee feel more restless.

so there she was, in the middle of the common room with a huge bowl of cheese balls resting on her lap – the amount probably ten times the servings than the recommendation, of course. the young woman was dressed in an over-sized hoodie and baggy pajama pants while nestled in a fluffy blanket that her foster mom had given her for christmas, all the while fiddling with the tv remote to find some sort of late night drama to watch to kill time. the vocalist was sure most of the occupants of the building were asleep by this time so she made sure to keep the volume low enough so that only she could hear.

crunching on a few of the puff chips, minhee was suddenly startled by the clearing of someone’s throat behind her forcing her turn around. giving the other a sheepish smile after realizing who it was, she invited them to come join her in apology. “sorry, i couldn’t sleep. did i wake you up?”

combing her long fingers through her short black hair , the thai born dancer would move to get up out of her bed , careful not to startle ferris who had oddly decided to sleep at the foot of her bed instead of soojin's that night        maybe her nightmares were a little worse than soojin's tonight, who knows ? bow shaped lips would form a soft pout as she exhaled slightly , closing the bedroom door behind her before her attention is captured by the sound of the television coming from the living room . who ... ?

if she was being honest, it seemed impossible for the pair of them to ever work out considering just how different they were and yet the bond they had built over the past couple of years was something that was suprisingly hard to destroy. running her hands through her short hair, the singer would stare blankly at mirror before her, dark eyes raking up and down her frail frame which was concealed beneath sweatpants and oversized band tee in obvious distaste ─ how could she ever hope for minho to even look at her when she looked like that all the time ?

throwing the brand new, empty writing book she had in her hands down in frustration, the object landed against the floor with a harsh thwack, the orphan would hastily get to her feet in order to exit the practice room as quickly as she possibly could. she was being stupid and selfish, she could act normal around minho, she could, she'd been doing it up until now and besides, if he ever found out who she truly was, he wouldn't want to hang around her too much anyway. he'd leave, just like everyone else eventually did.

the moment her nimble fingers came into contact with door handle of the practice room, soojin would be almost immediately knocked back when the door opened inwards. ❝ shit, ❞ she swore, barely managing to catch her footing before she raised her gaze to look at who had opened the door ─ only to meet the gaze of none other than yeong minho. god, the universe really must have it out for her, huh ? ❝ geez, could you have opened that door any harder ? ❞ she asks, sarcasm dripping from her tone as she brought her hand up to rub her upper arm which had come into contact with the door. ❝ ... i'm kidding. i'm fine, don't worry. you didn't hurt me... much. ❞ she joked, a small smile evident on her lips as she moved backwards into the room to let him in. ❝ what are you doing here anyway ? aren't you guys still on break ? ❞

          𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐎𝐇 𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒, 𝐈𝐍 𝐀 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃, 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄. not the bad impulsive where her spur of the moment decisions would become a burden to others, but the good kind of impulsive where, when she missed someone, she wanted to see them and she wanted to see them now. it was quite the curse, actually, considering her family was on the other side of her beloved ocean and her boyfriend slash best friend slash partner in crime was almost always touring ( just touring tingz as lux has so eloquently put it in the stella group chat when shiloh had confided in her members about her missing her partner ) and, more often than not, those good intentioned impulsive desires were something that shiloh was forced to sit on and ignore.

but today was, thankfully, not one of those times. cyno had recently returned from the states after attending the nyc ball drop and whilst she had been a little a lot heartbroken that they wouldn't be able to bring the new year into together like they usually did, her pride had outshone the sadness nestled in her stomach by a mile, but after ryuu and the others had landed back in seoul and he had sent her a short text before presumably immediately crashing, shiloh had been all but consumed by the desire to see him. she hadn't seen him in months, okay ? you couldn't blame her.

fast forward a good six hours and you would find the leader with her now chin length bob pinned off of her face as she stood in the sun drenched kitchen of cyno's million dollar apartment at nine in the morning. wiping her hands off on ryuu's old shirt, the tanned skinned woman would sigh gently as she moved to sit atop the counter, heterochromic eyes focused the stove top as she waited for the eggs she was cooking in order to add to the saiman she was making both herself and ryuusuke for breakfast. and sure it wasn't going to be as good as her kupuna's saiman but she was doing her best with what she had, okay ? jumping slightly when she heard a door open further up the hall, the brunette would begin panicking at the sound of footfalls coming closer to the kitchen and before she could even attempt to throw herself backwards behind the counter to hide herself, she was greeted by the sight of none other than mizushima ryuusuke wandering sleepily into the kitchen.

smiling gently as she watched him, shiloh would shrug and exhale loudly through her nose in defeat before she jumped down from the counter, bare feet hitting the cold tiles of the kitchen floor as she grinned at him. ❝ the one time i rely on the fact that you never wake up before ten, you have to wake up early and ruin my surprise, huh ? ❞ she shakes her head, laughter bubbling past her lips. ❝ that's such a you thing to do, as well. you're really lucky i love you so much, you know ? ❞

          hiding the fact that she was coming to surprise him during their tour was undoubtedly one of the hardest things she had ever done, ignoring his texts and calls ? now that was something else entirely. every time he called or messaged her, hikari could feel a pot of guilt opening in her stomach — she just prayed that he wouldn't be too mad when she eventually showed up right in front of him. walking through the hotel lobby, the brunette couldn't help but think about how similiar all this was to those one direction fanfictions she had read in her youth, a smile appearing on her face at the thought as she entered the elevator, hitting the button that read 19th floor as she did.

          at this point, the butterflies in her stomach were completely undeniable, her fingers tapped anxiously on her thigh as she waited for the doors to open. jumping slightly when they did, the maknae would move to exit the elevator all whilst pulling out her phone to check the message from ryuusuke which held seojin's room number along with a hurried message that read ' please hurry, he might actually kill us ' in japanese — a sight that made her smile slightly — before she tucks her phone away and heads towards the room.

          opening the door which has previously been open just a crack, the young dancer would barely be able to hold back her laughter at the sight of seojin, ryuu and jlong all sitting in the room, the latter two clearly attempting to distract her partner by playing a rather violent round of street fighter. quietly placing her suitcase down, the brunette would move up behind the couch before leaning down and wrapping her arms around seojin's shoulders, resting her chin on his head.
