I just wanted to celebrate the beautiful writing and at the same time make you laugh. I just watched the series finale and I'm literally sobbing while at the same time feeling peaceful.

I just absolutely love how they could’ve ended the show with everyone getting into the good place and living happily ever after. but it turns out that for us, human beings, eternal happiness isn’t really happiness but just an endless state of conformity that gets boring way too fast. which makes a lot of sense because we’re from a universe that is constantly changing, growing, evolving. naturally, that state of happiness couldn’t last but there are others, and so they created a new way of existing and helping other people by becoming that tiny positive thought when you’re drowning in a sea of negativity. the simplest idea that maybe it’s going to be okay, that maybe helping someone else is worth it, that maybe that’s what makes being human bearable: genuine small acts of kindness

anyways really need a fic with tahani and janet spending hundreds of jeremy bearimy’s together until michael gets there, passes his test, and its the three of them enjoying eternity together. but when he decides to leave for good, it hits tahani that truly most of her family have moved on, and its sad and it hurts more than she realised, but she still has janet. and more thousands of jeremy bearimy’s occur where its just janet and tahani together and you can IMAGINE how close they get during this time. helping better the good place, reminiscing about the others, hanging out every chance they get when theyre not busy, visiting places that make them think of the others. 

and one day theyre sitting on the wooden bench bc tahani isn’t sure yet, but she’s thinking she really is ready this time. shes created so many tests, so many places and heaven like locations for janet to manifest for others and just like woodworking and learning to defuse a bomb, shes mastered being an architect. but shes still human, and something inside of her yearns. and as she takes a deep breath, janet says: 

“you can sit here as long as you want tahani, ill be here no matter the choice you make.”

and thats it. thats when the feeling hits her, the feeling eleanor and jason and chidi and michael talked about. she finds it when janet reaffirms that her friends will always be with her and were there for her no matter her existence. and that everything is fine. everything is good. and that janet is here with her.

she hugs janet so tightly to her body, feeling janet melt into their embrace. and tahani wants to say “but who will be here for you?” but she knows the answer already. janet’s memories are all she needs to face infinity. 

tahani says i love you, says it more than shes ever meant it. and janet smiles, saying it back. tahani doesn’t let go of janet’s hand until her body dissipates into light.
