Hey!🖖🏻 I'm Vesper and i'll be using this blog to track my study progress and stay motivated (and hold myself accountable lol). I thought it would be nice to document my uni life for the next few years, so i can look back one day and see how much things have changed. The best thing for being sad is to learn something!!!🌾

summer logs // entry 2.

Monthly photodump! It was a really productive month too! I visited other friends around the country, i hit a one year strike on duolingo, i got my driver license first try (can you believe yours truly can drive manual and it's not even that hard??) and a bunch of other stuff. I even finished the extra uni credits i had planned for the summer.

For the last week or so i've been completely chilling tho. Cuddling with the cat, reading thicc books, going through my manga collection and surviving the european heatwave, mostly. I just uploaded war and peace to my ereader for this year's summer read, and i'm planning an mcu rewatch before the new spiderman comes out. Also keeping an eye on my local cinemas to see if they screen any old restored movies hehe

Well hiii it's been a while. Not that long tho. I still haven't even received my last exam results💀 A bunch of stuff happened these weeks, so here's a little update. What have i been up to, you ask? Sweating. Feeling the humidity in my bones. Fighting off crazy mosquitos. Do NOT believe the italian summer propaganda, they are lying to you!!!

On the bright side, i started my summer job at an art gallery, and it's really perfect. Super chill vibes and i get to look at the art in peace once everyone is gone. Instant 10/10 job, i was made for this I started to learn how to drive (scary stuff) and my driving exam is in 2 weeks. Please send thoughts and prayers🕯🕯🕯 Absolutely alienating experience to be driving while literally everyone around you is either speeding, not using turn signals, or doing some other unhinged stuff :(( I'm also slowly working through some online courses to get extra credits because sure why not. And i applied for a job in finland at my campus. Not expecting much, but hey it never hurts to try, right?

Between all that, i've been traveling around a lot. Visiting friends and relatives, going to driving practice, hiking in the mountains… it's a miracle i haven't passed out from the heat. And i have more plans with other friend groups in the next weeks. No rest for the wicked ( ´∀`)

5-05-2026 // day 121.

I am freeeee!!! Regardless of whether the exam went well or not, i am not studying this stuff again for at least 3 months. I see this as an absolute win. But now my daily routine is all over the place because i had to skip lunch (i am NOT eating at 11am, i am sorry finland but 12pm is my limit) so i ate late and now i am getting dinner late and my life is in shambles. But it's fine! Because now i can actually sleep late and finally get some guilt free rest🎉🎉

4-05-2026 // day 120.

Last exam tomorrow! Am i ready for it? Not as much as i'd like! Especially since the professor is intentionally being as vague as possible about what they'll put in the exam. They probably don't even know themselves. But it doesn't matter, this exam cannot win against me because i have been blessed by a ladybug i found on my walk. I am now invincible. And by this time tomorrow, i'll be free from these studying chains

2-05-2026 // day 118.

I am experiencing the highs and lows of exam prep. Sometimes i feel like i actually understand things, and sometimes i feel like i am the stupidest person on earth. And i just keep oscillating between the two. Yes my brain is this close👌 to imploding. I have covered all the theory, and tomorrow i'll work on the coding and exercises. Would love to have some extra time, but we'll have to make do :c

The weather today was stunning, and i categorically refused to get stuck inside the house all the day studying. But i also really need to lock in for this last exam... so i used my incredible problem solving skills. I threw my notes in my backpack and went to study outside. Sitting on rocks for 4 hours straight might not be ideal for my posture, but i had to get some sunlight on my ghoulish pale skin. Vitamin d save me please vitamin d

Just one exam lefttttt. Im fine im dandy i can totally bend spacetime to get the time i need to study. I can't remember formulas im so tired i will succeed because i am crazy the horrors persist but so do i i don't need to be perfect i just need to be brave

29-04-2026 // day 115.

Oh WOW, kinda evil exam today. It was 3 hour long, so i was expecting a whole bunch of questions covering all the topics. I start the exam and immediately realize it's NOT multiple choice like i was told, it's "do the math and put the right number in the box" type questions. No space to write any reasoning or steps. You get a decimal wrong and you're cooked. I'm kinda anxious so i don't remember too well the formulas, so i scroll to the end of the page to see the following questions. There are none. The exam is just 6 questions ∘ ∘ ∘ (ㅇ_ㅇ ) Well luckily there was plenty of time to remember 6 formulas out of 6 whole weeks of material. Also plenty of time to consider dropping out and becoming a shepherd in the alps but whateverrr

I got back the results for one of my courses, and i was really happy about it, but then i realized it's not registered properly in the uni system and i also can't access the course webpage anymore and a bunch of other weird stuff. Yippieee. I'll wait a few days to see if they fix it by themselves, or i'll be back to writing stupid emails for stupid reasons once again(-_-｡)

I spent the whole day studying for my next exam and ngl i am out of energy. I need a break so badlyy and i mean a full on break to enjoy my hobbies without feeling guilty for not studying. Also i really need to marie kondo my youtube subscriptions. Does this youtuber spark joy? No? Time to let them go. Especially now that everyone is making extra long videos to please the algorithm gods. I just don't have the time!!!

I took a slower day to reread my data science notes so my poor overworked brain could passively absorb all the concepts i've been studying. The exam next week doesn't scare me too much, but there are lots of different topics and my memory has always been kinda bad... But no stressing! We'll bring this home too

Strangling my professor who insists on going overtime with my own bare hands. Do you think your course is the most important of my degree? Do you think your lectures are the highlight of my day? Do you think i have nothing else to do on a spring friday afternoon, during exam season? The audacity of this man. Went on a walk bc what can i do about it

Fun fact i sent the infamous email to my professor and the 3-hour exam is indeed just multiple choice questions. This man does not care about this course. He's probably already on a beach enjoying a mojito. Why bother correcting exams for a course that isn’t even your main research topic when a computer can grade them instantly instead. Spoken like a true computer scientist

22-04-2026 // day 108.

I have an exam in a week and our professor still hasn't said anything about it. Now the course is over and i don't even know if i'll have to code something. I mean, three hours feels like way too much for a multiple‑choice‑only exam, but not if there's a shit ton of them... guess i gotta write an email to ask. Ughhh i hate writing emails for something so stupid, just give us some info man (T▽T) On the bright side, i finally found a way to eat beans. The trick is to blend them until they are no longer recognizable and throw some pasta in the mix. Beloved pasta e fagioli. New nutrients unlocked in the diet yesss i'm becoming a real adult who eats their veggies

It was a decently productive day, but i need to pick up the pace. I have a lot of material to get through to prepare my last two exams, and i kinda feel like i'm going too slow. It might just be my anxiety talking tho, i know from experience that spring annihilates my study motivation, so i'm lowkey scared i'll end up procrastinating again. Guess i'll put on my headphones and ignore the negative voices in my head yayy^^

I'm in a reading slump i hate it i hate it. It's not even a bad book, it's just the wrong book at the wrong time. And that is somehow even worse! Spending the whole day hunched over books and notes really kills the tiny bit of will to read i have left. Actually... maybe i should just try reading in the morning?🤔🤔
