Former Pokémon Ranger, now I run the Pokémon rescue! Home of Vesper’s Online Guide to Pokémon Care Have questions about how to properly provide for your Pokémon? Ask! [Pokemon IRL Blog, tw unreality]
My name is Vesper, and I’m a former Pokémon Ranger, but more importantly, I’m the founder of the Unova Pokémon Rescue! My pronouns are She/They, and I’m originally from Orre, though I’ve also lived in Almia (where I was a Ranger) and Unova, and I spend plenty of time traveling to other regions!
I’m currently in the process of creating an online guide to Pokémon care, and I’ve raised and cared for tons of Pokémon over the years. If you have any questions about Pokémon care, feel free to ask!
What’s the Unova Pokémon Rescue?
It’s an organization I founded years back. After a pretty nasty injury during my Ranger days, I retired from my job as a Ranger and founded the Pokémon Rescue shortly after moving to Unova! I came across a Deino that had been neglected and abandoned, who I helped raise into a happy and healthy Hydreigon. Inspired by that little guy, I opened the rescue to help rehabilitate abandoned, abused, or neglected Pokémon in need of help. I work with tons of organizations across the globe, and we help Pokémon either recover enough to return to the wild, or, for Pokémon unfit for the wild, help them find loving Trainers!
Vesper's Online Guide to Pokemon Care - Where I post about different Pokémon and how to properly care for their biological needs!
My Team:
Nibbles: Hydreigon, male. The little guy that started it all, this is the Deino I rescued who inspired me to open the Rescue! Destroyer of many a chew toy, but an absolute sweetheart. Still bites me (affectionately). Second biggest troublemaker of my Pokémon, mainly because he’s spoiled rotten.
Dust Devil (Dusty): Garchomp, male. My first Pokémon, I’ve had this guy since he was a Gible! He was my partner Pokémon during my Ranger days, and now that I’ve retired, he’s my partner around the rescue! He has a nasty scar on his leg from the same incident that made me have to retire, but is still as lively as ever. He’s very protective.
Zipzap (Zippy): Galvantula, male. Formerly a Pokémon I was looking after as a foster when we rescued him. We found him as a Joltik in the Driftveil Cold Storage, with no clue how he ended up there. Deemed unfit to survive in the wild due to poor immune system and frequent illness, so I ended up keeping him! Climbs on everything in my apartment. Biggest troublemaker of the bunch.
Duchess Wisteria Stringbean (Duchess/Stringbean): Serperior, female. Rescued from an illegal breeding operation in Sinnoh. Sassy, stubborn, and full of herself– but a genuine sweetie if you give her attention. Very helpful with the younger Pokémon at the rescue.
Marshmallow: Tyranitar, female. Does lots of the heavy lifting around the rescue. I rescued her after she was abandoned by a Trainer who very clearly wasn’t prepared for how difficult Tyranitars are to care for once they evolve. Likes to act tough but is actually a big softie.
Lysander (Sometimes called “Beeps”): Decidueye, male. A rescue Pokémon that we took in from a sister organization in Alola. Was horribly mistreated by his previous Trainer, and as such is rather jumpy and wary of strangers. Also easily startled by basically any loud noises. Likes to stare at me from across the Rescue and watch me work. Makes “beep” noises sometimes to get my attention.

Hi! I’m Ceja, aka @visceralVoid, and this is a little pokemon irl side blog of mine! Vesper’s guide to Pokémon care is planned to be a small YouTube series one day, but until then, I’ve decided to just do a tumblr blog for now!
Info stuff:
Based on the game canon, little to no regard for the anime.
Predominantly an askblog.
Expect occasional headcanon!
Sapient Pokémon and other similar stuff aren’t really a thing in Vesper’s world, but I’m generally willing to interact with that stuff for the most part. There may be times where I disregard it if it clashes too much with Vesper's canon.
Pelipper mail is ON but will be accepted at my discretion. No Musharna mail, though.
I’m an adult, and so is Vesper. Keep that in mind. There won’t be any NSFW here, though.
For the last time, Lysander (the Decidueye) has no association with Lysandre (That guy from Team Flare). He was named that when I got him. There’s a reason I usually just call him “Beeps” instead.
storm season is upon us here in Unova so friendly reminder to have an emergency plan in case of flooding or other major weather issues. You never know when Tornadus and Thunderus are going to wake up and choose violence. We had to herd all the rescues into shelter yesterday during the big storm and let me tell you trying to keep all of them calm for like an hour (and from starting battles in a very crowded space) was an Experience.
Zippy was having fun though. Good for him.
cleaning out some areas of the rescue today. found a whole trubbish hiding under a pile of stuff we were about to throw out. one of the rescuers keeps carrying him around chanting "trash baby". he seems fine with it.
no, Nibbles just Does That.
He almost never bites hard enough to break skin. he just wants attention lmao. i wear really padded clothes anyways. hot tip! if you have a pokemon that is bitey, invest in thicker fabrics for your clothes!
@dustytodusty-pkmn and I spent Halloween with my family over here, which was a fun way to spend our vacation.
I went as a Garchomp, which my own Garchomp was very thrilled by, while Dusty went as a Sandslash.
Dusty went out in the wasteland and tried to trick or treat at…wild Pokémon. For some reason. It was very funny, at least.
We also took our Pokémon trick-or-treating in Phenac city, which everyone seemed to enjoy. Nibbles got so many snacks. And Zippy is STILL hyper from all the treats.
Garlic Bread decided to get in costume too, and decided to go as Castle, which was very entertaining on all fronts. Zorua illusions are silly.
All in all, a success, but I’m so worn out from trying to watch everyone lol

I’m doing a Philosophy paper on Asexuality. Please reblog if you think Love without Sex is possible! I really need the data. Like if you think love has to have sex.
Vesper and Dusty's Orre Trip - I got distracted from keeping count
Garlic Bread has been riding in my bag for most of the trip, mainly because we decided it was easier then trying to send her back home to the rescue.
Also Dusty (@dustytodusty-pkmn) has managed to track sand into my parents' house consistently. Thankfully they're used to it.
Marshmallow and Dust Devil have both been having the absolute time of their lives.
Also my dad is trying to convince me to compete in the Colosseum. I appreciate his enthusiasm but also I haven't actually battled in ages. I feel like I would get DESTROYED.
My goal on this trip has been to Cause Problems and it looks like I have been successful :)
Very glad I brought Slinky with me, because she has enjoyed getting EVERYWHERE. Found her in Vesper’s mother’s shirt one morning— which was quite the experience! Poor lady jumped a foot in the air when she felt Slinky move… but I imagine living with Vesper, she’s used to the craziness by now.
Thankfully most of my Pokémon are species that burrow, so they hardly felt cooped up during the journey. The sand here is apparently better quality though (I can’t really tell the difference; sand is sand) and Castle has been antsy to get out and play around in it! We spent most of that day half-buried, and I definitely still have sand in places I won’t mention on this blog.
Despite that initial scare, my mom seems to have taken quite a liking to Slinky.
Also I'm dumping you in the shower the next chance I get.
I'm hoping we get the chance to visit some Poké Spots later, I think you'd enjoy getting to see some of Orre's few wild Pokemon in their natural habitats.

This is extremely true. Sometimes Nibbles just decides to knock my legs out from under me just so I land on his back for cuddles. Big scary dragon? WRONG. Fluffy cuddle beast. Cannot go 5 seconds without affection.

@dustytodusty-pkmn and I arrived in Orre today. It's nice to be back in my home region. Dusty seems pretty thrilled about the whole thing.
Garlic Bread the zorua snuck along on the trip. We're not entirely sure how, but she managed to fit in Dusty's luggage. She's a little stowaway, apparently. I've been letting her ride along on Nibbles' back on the way to my parents' place.
Garlic Bread seems very confused, but she's taking it in stride. it also took all of like two minutes for @dustytodusty-pkmn to end up covered in sand again. Garlic Bread has refused to get off of Nibbles' back the whole time, but he seems okay with it.

People (namely @vespers-pkmn-rescue ) keep telling me lies like “I’m stinky” and “people can’t take dust baths like desert Pokémon do, that’s not how that works.” Lies and slander. You can pry my dry shampoo and salt scrubs out of my cold, dead hands.
Dusty (@dustytodusty-pkmn ) and I are going to Orre soon for a trip. Should be nice to be back in my home region for a while. Dust Devil seems excited about it but he also might just be excited about the sand.
