can’t help but allow the PAIN she felt to be clear on her face as she listens to her junior . understood how painful it was to be left alone but never in such a circumstance ; could only empathize with all of her golden heart . her voice is meeker than it typically would be , afraid she’ll get cut off or snapped at - a side of her junior she wasn’t used to . one she recognized as a defense mechanism , but if she was so sharp , so insistent , how could mami break through - ? was it selfish of her to want to do so ?

❝ OH , no , you don’t ! ❞ && she’s propelled herself forwards into the air with one of her ribbons , closing most of the gap between her && the witch who was trying to grab hold of an innocent bystander dragged into this mess . is able to shoot the tendril extending towards them , the witch recoiling at the sensation - giving mami enough time to use her magic to restrain it with ribbon before turning to the stranger .
❝ excuse my tardiness ; i hope the witch didn’t cause you any trouble . i’d love to explain everything , but i believe i should wrap this up first - so wait just a few moments , all right ? ❞

mami found herself once again in an area much too dangerous for any average middle - schooler , or even someone a bit older , but it wasn’t as if she had much choice . the places that gathered the largest amount of negative emotions tended to be the places where witches would appear the most often , or try to take advantage of that to lead innocent people to harm . loud commotions from local bars filled most of the air ; a quarrel or two breaking out not far from them . no signs of witch activity causing any of it , though ... it wasn’t her place to butt in to fights such as those , despite how her heart longed to be able to do so .
on the bench beside where she stood lay a container of fresh cookies of several varieties . had brought them with her to school after baking far too many - her apartment in the opposite direction of the town she wanted to check out , so they’d been carried along . she took a few steps away from the bench , looking out into the distance ; isn’t paying much attention to the sweets she’d brought with her .

sorrow reflects in the gunner’s eyes as she continues , never having liked conflict between magical girls . though she knew it was unavoidable . happened more often than she ever found anyone willing to be reasonable . especially when she had suspicion she was under control by the witch , somehow .

the witch is wrapped up in an instant of blinding golden light , the world shifting back into what it had been before the witch planted its seed of despair in the human realm . mami running over , making her way to the human that had been trapped inside .

mami’s gaze is lost among the options as she weighs what she’d like to drink ; for her , coffee or tea shouldn’t be at all a difficult question . tea always being the obvious victor . however , she had heard good things about cafe leblanc’s coffee , so she was stuck in indecision . raising a hand to her lips , a nervous chuckle escaping them as her gaze caught the barista’s .
❝ ah - forgive me , i was lost in my thoughts for a moment there ... ! i don’t typically drink coffee , but i’ve heard good things about this place , so i suppose i might try it out for myself ... ❞

❝ kaname - san , may i actually make a request before we head back to mitakihara ? ❞ the junior magical girl had accompanied mami on one of her trips to kamihama , though this trip was simply to retrieve some fresh tea from the shop there . mami had found herself already becoming quite fond of it , spoiled by such large selections that she just couldn’t find closer to home .
❝ there’s something i believe you’ll like . ❞ remembers some of the cute plush toys available as crane prizes in the arcade she’d been taken to before . the smile she pictured lighting up madoka’s face was enough to make mami want to take her - especially since the senior seemed to have a knack for arcade games .
